I filled that it was a special occasion but what is the point if no one is going to say anything or do anything about it.
The risotto was a little under cooked, but very good meal anyway
The decore is minimal which lets the food be the star. In addition S Blue is a hopping spot with a very energetic air. Our service was exceptional without being cloying. The food was amazing. Every diner starts with cornbread. It was a great recipe, not too sweet and not gritty. We shared the crab cake as an appetizer. Not dense but not falling apart - perfect. The cake was probable a full cup of crab. For entrees we had the shrimp & grits and the bbq ribs, both were delicious. Neither of us could finish our entrees. Coffee and the beignet bites were our dessert. This was an exceptional experience. One suggestion: Some type of wipes or wet towel would compliment the ribs.
Great service, professional staff, delicious food!
Love Love Love SavannahBlue! They were so pleasant and attentive. Nice atmosphere and even when they were busy the service was still up to par. Great overall experience.
The catfish fritters were delicious to start with. The salmon was cooked perfectly- soft and delectable on the inside, with a crisp outside. The beignets were to die for. Each part of the meal was perfect. Our server was great. The only issue with service was dirty dishes not getting cleared with the delivery of new courses by other staff.
Yum....Great girls noght out. Nice menu with delicious choices. Crab cakes got a great review, ox tail over cheddar risotto tasted delicious, Fried chicken with candied yams was tasy and juicy with a maple dipping sauce..delicious and reasonably priced. Corn bread was tasty as we waited for our food. Service was outstanding..friendly and informative. Will return again.
Nice ambiance...The oxtails and collard greens were delicious, but the risotto was undercooked.
Always a stellar experience. Easily my favorite restaurant in Detroit.
We were in Detroit for a football game and stayed downtown. Found this place on Open Table. Looked great, was within easy walking distance. We were really glad we came. The people were friendly, service was welcoming and professional, and the food was delicious. My companion had shrimp and grits. His only complaint was he didn't have room to finish it. I tasted the grits and they were decadent. I had the blackened shrimp farro jambalaya and it was so, so good. In addition to blackened shrimp, it had andouille sausage and crab meat. It was nicely spicy and i had a glass of Vouvray to go with it. Absolutely delicious. Sadly, no room for dessert. But every morsel we managed to put away, we savored.
Delicious food with impecciable service. Savannah Blue exudes class while being comfortable. I highly recommend going there!!
Delicious food! Great music. Very romantic restaurant
Very nice cozy area!!! Good food and service. I had the ox-tails and collard greens💕
The food, and service were absolutely excellent!! I had the Salmon, my husband had the fried catfish and we shared the sweet potato bread pudding. Everything was prepared to perfection! The waitress was friendly, attentive and very professional as was the rest of the staff we encountered. Great restaurant!! We would definitely return.
Staff was polite, food was great, but atmosphere was loud... hard to have a conversation without talking loudly.
Get the snapper
This was my husband and i first time there and we enjoyed ourselves from the server Mike to the delicious food it was outstanding. Im so glad we came for our first year anniversary. Keep up the good work
Door man requested that we make a reservation 🙄, which was quick and easy on open table. Got seated the bar till our 3rd guest arrived. Bar service was busy, took about 15+ mins to put in our drink orders. Our third person arrived and was hassled to get in to meet us. We were made to cash out at the bar before being seated.
Waitress was very good, attentive. Food was good also, great value. Entry and bar experience were lack luster, dining room setting was much better
It was perfect! I scheduled a staff meeting there and we all vowed to return!
Me and my friend went to celebrate me graduating we were sat it was afternoon dim inside my table candle wasn’t lit we ordered drinks the waitress came back to let me know they were out of what we wanted so I ordered sprite he coke. The sprite was out so I received a cup of soda water his coke was FLAT we let her know she took my cup and told us the coke was out of a two litter so she doesn’t know what to say... we placed our orders I ordered cat fish my friend a burger medium and no tomatoes. Food came, catfish was great a little greasy but still tasted great. His burger was well done with tomatoes.. we kept quiet my sweet potatoes were over cooked but the Mac and cheese was ok. During our meal someone cane REACHED OVER MY FOOD to light the candle in a dirty glass smeared with old wax... never offered a drink refill just an over all fail. I literally walked around 30 minutes to find the place during the lions game craziness for nothing I will not be back.
I've eaten here before with my wife, but the last three times the food has taken a downward turn. The SavannahBlue chicken was VERY SALTY AS WELL AS THE GREEN. The blackeyed pea hummas was lacking in flavor. Will think 8 times before coming here again.
Not the greatest location, off of Woodward with an uninspiring view BUT food is excellent! Dry rub wings to start were delicious and I had the braised oxtail with cheddar risotto and I loved it. Hubby had the crab cakes and he was very happy with them. I would definitely go back again and highly recommend.
Great place for a group of 4 or less. They generally only take reservations for up to 4 people. Food is amazing! Southern comfort with a fine dining twist. Everything tasted homemade and prepared with fine attention to detail. Slightly pricey but worth it for the quality of meal. Must try the crab cakes & the catfish fritters!
Slow service, food mediocre/ overly salted, ordered a shared salad to start and had yo wait about 5 mi items after salad was served fit an extra plate. Ordered coffee with desert and it arrived well after desert without cream.
Weve been here three times. Excellent food everytime. The oxtail, sweet potatoes bread pudding, crab cakes are our favorites...... BUT everything weve ever had has been amazing!
Delivery of items too fast when hadn’t finished item before so things got cold. But great food
The food was excellent, and your service outstanding, and what can I say the Ambiance was beautiful.
Atmosphere was nice and clean, decor was good. Waitress was personable and knowledgeable. Food was excellent and service was fast. Food was delicious and cooked to order so it was fresh when it reached our table. We had a great date night and my husband gave me a hi-five for the great pick!
Service was great. My husband's croutons on his salad were stale. Wine seemed a bit flat.
My fried chicken was burnt, I saw the manager walk around and greet other tables asking them how everything was. Not once did he come over and greet us or even ask how everything was very disappointing.
One of my top 5 culinary experiences. The shrimp and grits were the best I’ve ever had. The cornbread was at a whole nother level. Oxtail and the risotto.... flawless. The seafood soup, incredible. If I lived here I would eat here as often as I could.
Our server, Mike, was awesome. The food was good overall and the ambiance was perfect. Found it an enjoyable night out before exploring downtown Detroit.
Open table made it easy to just jump in the car and have a table ready...Most importantly the food was outstanding!!!
We arrived late so staff was finishing up, so we waited a little longer then we should've probably but I don't blame them for that. The room, the vibe, the food was all great. This place was worth it will be back.
This place has great food and the service was phenomenal
I absolutely loved everything about the restaurant. The food, service, atmosphere was AMAZING. Will be back SOON!!!!
Savannah Blue provided a quaint, elegant spot that offered delicious Southern cuisine. The mellow atmosphere created a relaxed vibe that facilitated stimulating conversation. The impeccable service made us feel like VIPs and excellent food & wine suggestions made night perfect, because we left happy in stomach & spirit. This is a "must do" on your dining adventures!!!
The food was delicious. We had the red snapper. Yum! They will filet the fish for you after they bring it to the table. We will be back. Tuesday half off wine.
Fabulous! Great food, attentive service. Will defintely return whenever in the area.
