This is one of our favorite places to go!
Probably the worst overall dining experience we have ever had. Took my wife for her birthday Friday night 8/23 with another couple. It took 20 minutes to get our first round of drinks. Appetizers were there first. They were the only good part of our meal. Salmon was over cooked and dry. Ribeyes were undercooked and tasted like they were going bad and the chicken club sandwich was terrible. While we were offered a free round of drinks and begged to return for a second chance we would never do so. The staff was awful. When we asked for a straw for our drinks we were visited by a manager to basically insult us for asking. Unbelievable to say the least. Thankfully Five Guys stays open late so we could get a decent meal. $300 wasted. As a business owner I appreciate feedback. We tried that to no avail. I understand an off night and would never give a negative review however this place earned it!
We were disappointed. To begin, they had no olives for a martini ordered by one of our group. We had to switch wine and entrees among ourselves to get our proper order. Oysters Rockefeller were way over-salted. Most of the other food tasted good, but the presentation was non-existant. Three people ordered the short ribs. Two people were served a nice dish of tender ribs, but the third person’s was as tough as shoe leather and very undercooked. It was sent back, and no replacement dish arrived. He finally cancelled the order, and had to sit while everyone else ate. Nothing was done to offer a different dish in a timely way. They wanted to make it right only after the bill came.
During the meal, we were repeatedly interrupted and asked to take a tour of the roof bar and event space, even after saying, “Maybe after we eat.”
The space itself is special, but we not be returning after this experience. I was embarrassed to bring my friends there.
Very nice and beats the high prices that Ruth Chris demand.
Food was excellent but that is where anything good stopped. We were never asked if our food was ok or if we needed anything else. And the noise level from the live band in the bar was so loud that my husband and I had to scream at each other across the table. And the meal was not cheap.
The service & food was outstanding. The Mac and cheese was outstanding. The oysters were some of the best we had. I got the ribeye & hubby got Reuben both delicious. Highly recommend ~ as we were leaving the band was getting started In lounge & was good. We will be back just to check out lounge
Date night, nice place to grab a bite and have a drink or listen to a band playing.
We had a great experience! We dined here back in the beginning of August. Our Server Khalid was very attentive and took great care of us. We were a large party and had some kids in the group who were picky- they made the experience relaxing. The food was good, and the atmosphere was really nice. The event Manager, Mikaela made point of coming by and checking on us to make sure we were happy with everything. We'll be back the next time we visit Savannah!
The food was absolutely delicious. The restaurant has a very chill yet classy vibe to it with loud music but nice lighting. The waitress was super friendly and they had great specials of unique styles. I ordered the half chicken meal and it was so tasty with a honey glaze. My husband ordered the special New York strip w a seafood jumbo shrimp. I highly recommend this place.
Today we took our daughter to Savannah Spirits and it was absolutely amazing. From the moment we arrived the entire staff was extremely welcoming. The food was simply amazing no other words for it. Our waitress Rachell was on top of her game. Food came to the table fast, never a moment without something to drink and to make it even better she took us around the restaurant on a tour. Yes a tour! Meaning three floors of multiple experiences of dining in one restaurant.
Take your family I guarantee you will not be disappointed!
We ate here mostly due to being able to reserve a table, as we had plans for later in the evening. It was an excellent choice. The wait staff were very attentive, and the food was delicious. We shared a melon salad appetizer and ordered filet, short ribs, and scallops as mains. It was one of our favorite meals in Savannah. Best scallops I've eaten, and the fresh peas and broth were perfect accompaniments. I would eat here and order the same thing if we return to Savannah in the future.
Both food and service were phenomenal!
Very cool atmosphere. Food was excellent as well. We enjoyed the experience and the food
Best chophouse I have been too in a while .I recommend it to any one looking for a delicious steak and the cocktails are great also.
I find the venue at Savannah Spirits absolutely wonderful! The new menu is great, with good pricing and the food was delicious!! Tableside service was good, but the bar was really slow, they said it just got backed up. I would definitely go back!!
Ambiance in the upstairs seating is very nice, however, service leaves something to be desired. Food is a bit overpriced. I'd choose other restaurants the next time we visit Savannah.
The average price for our entrees, which come with plated sides, is in the mid $20's. For the Historic District our prices are lower than most, so that comment is confusing. I apologize for the service not living up to our own expectations.
Still in the midst of re-trademarking, Savannah Spirits is a wonderful find. Slightly off of the beaten path, they are still finding their niche. However, the menu is firmly established. The ribeye was one of the best I had ever had, and a dining companion agreed. The service was outstanding, although with a light crowd, this should be expected. The quality and value were exceptional, and the restaurant has 2 more floors for large parties.
All in all, a very rewarding dining experience. I will be back!
Service was great! Our waitress was attentive. Disappointed in the filet. For it to be ordered medium, I wouldn’t expect for it to be charred in multiple places.
The best meal we have had in Savannah in a long time!!
The menu is extremely limited and very overpriced for the food you receive. Artisan bread basket was $5. No artisan bread but three half pieces of sourdough. The waitress who was very nice apologized and seemed embarrassed by this. Then the wings were tiny little pieces. A side salad was $12. The steak was tasty but really small and tough. Plus the restaurant is trying to rebrand themselves under a new name. Extremely disappointed considering the amazing restaurant we went to the prior night in savannah.
I apologize for your experience, particularly the artisan bread basket. The chicken wings were the result of an error in delivery and should have been off the menu. Our house salad is only $7, I'll look into to that. Our menu has 9 appetizer options, 2 soups, 4 salads, 4 sandwich items, 11 entrees, 5 side options, a light fried seafood option and nightly specials. "Chop House" carried a restrictive/expensive connotation not in line with who/what we really are so it was changed.
Great Server!! Best part of the whole experience. Food good but overpriced. Not a very warm ambiance but if the food were more economical, I could see a nice "family-friendly" place.
Very nice restaurant and staff. The prices are fare and the food was really good
The waitress was quite cheerful and pleasant. The food was delicious! Definitely going back.
Excellent food. Filet was prepared perfectly and tender enough to cut with a fork.
Absolutely delicious. Very beautiful building. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly. Will definitely be back.
The half chicken was the second best chicken dish I have had in my 63 years. It was phenomenal. Beautiful and comfortable setting. Only suggestion I have is that they should season the ribeye as it was pretty bland. Wonderful dining experience.
The food was okay, in my opinion-not worth the price. We both had steak, and it was okay and nobody wants to pay $40 for a filet Mignon that’s just ehh. However the drinks and service was excellent! I would maybe return again for drinks and maybe appetizer, but definitely not for a meal.
Absolutely beautiful, three story building which matched the ambience and food. This is a great places for a date, special occasion or celebration.
Very Disappointing. I expect better steaks at a'Chop House". Much Better Steaks can be had at Ruth Chris, Mortorns or The Capital Grill.
First time here...I think the name is misleading; it seemed that there were more tables for drinking and less for eating. A chop house to me signifies a restaurant that really specializes in steaks and chops, but the menu was limited. The special surf and turf was good, but visually unappealing and the filet was mediocre. The caesar salad was drenched in dressing, but tasty and the shrimp skewers were very good. Charging for bread is ridiculous (4 rolls) - it was described as an artisan bread basket - NOT! We were celebrating our anniversary and mentioned it when making the reservation, but no one made mention of it at all. Probably will not return...
Best steak in Savannah and I have been here over 30 years. Not cheap though. Great bar tenders and waitress. Worth the cost in my opinion.
Amazing Restaurant and Service. Food was spectacular, I had the rib eye and literally one of the better steaks I have had. The drinks were amazing as well.
There was a lack of organization. We were not attended to in a timely manner. The food service was delayed. Service was definitely lacking for the overall price of the meal.
The atmosphere in the restaurant and level of service are very good. Unfortunately for a restaurant that touts itself as a steakhouse, the steak my husband had was just average. There were no sear marks and the steak was nothing special. Sides are good but not plentiful.
This is a difficult review to write as we really like Savannah Spirits Chop House and have been there many times with many great experiences. This last visit, the server was just great. Everyone was very nice. The drinks took a while to come but were very good. The appetizers were very good, especially the deviled crab. Two of the four at our table ordered the rib eye medium rare - both came red centers, ie very rare. Everyone was very nice, took them back, gave us two new steaks, one was OK, the other still very rare. The steak was re-fired, it was thicker than the other, and was OK on this go round. It was disappointing that this could happen at a very Chop House, but the restaurant was very crowded so we assume just one bad night and will be back again...
We got a reservation last minute on a holiday weekend so probably should have been a sign. Servers were friendly but no one person was in charge of our table. Food was good but not great for cost or compared to other steakhouses. Steak and sides were cold upon arrival. It was the most disappointing meal during our stay in Savannah
Rachell was awesome! Had a great time. Even though it's a large restaurant, it feels very intimate with numerous smaller rooms. Service was great!
Service was decent. Food was underwhelming- especially at the price point. When you have an offering of bread for $5 because of the “specialty” spreads and local made bread - it should be fresh. Steaks were ok - but not much more than a piece of meat - light on flavor. Probably better options if looking for steak.
