   Lunch experience. Miso soup was served luke warm; Satsuki Futomaki roll was 90% cucumber and 4 pieces had unraveled, making it difficult to eat. King Salmon sushi was tough (for $7/piece it should be melt in your mouth). Toro sushi & roll, and tiramisu were all amazing.

   We were surprised by the food, given all the good reviews and the high prices. (We are from Japan and have pretty good knowledge of Japanese food, particularly sushi) The dumplings were very thick skinned and tough, and were cloyingly sweet. We didn't understand them at all. The beef tataki was tough, roughly cut, and unevenly seasoned. The fish on the nigiri was very good, and cut beautifully, but the rice was very under seasoned, it had no flavor. Negitoro maki tasted good, but it was rolled poorly (falling apart) and cut unevenly. Same with the Snow Crab roll, some of the pieces were twice the thickness of others (weird) and some were falling apart on the plate. The nori was low quality, supermarket level. Even the Japanese beer was not Japanese, it was a made-in-Ontario version of Sapporo. Service is basically non-existent, we weren't even thanked when we left. All of these things would be ok if I was buying from a supermarket, at supermarket prices, but at these high prices, I expect a lot more.

   Delicious and creative menu. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Loved their omakase and the passion and pride she puts into her craft. Their dinner menu is fantastic and sake and wine list is very great.

   We love Satsuki. The food is consistently fresh and flavourful. All the raw fish high quality and the prices are reasonable.

   Great last minute decision to book here for dinner. The food was fabulous a noisy table near us was the only thing that prevented all 5’s

   Celebrated my wife’s birthday here and did the omakase option with the sake pairing. We have had many omakase meals over the years but this is easily right up there at the top. Every single serving, both fish and not fish, was so fresh and delicious that we’re still reminiscing about our experience at Satsuki, and that’s not even factoring in the unique and delicious range of sake options we enjoyed too. May and the chefs at Satsuki earned lifelong customers with us. Can’t wait to go back!

   Amazing food and ambience, perfect for date night or for sushi lovers! Very creative dishes and delicious, I’m still thinking about the black sesame tiramisu!!!! A new favourite spot for my husband and I.

    Finally tried Satsuki for the first time last week and have been back within 7 days at the earliest opportunity! Every meal I've had here has offered friendly, attentive, clean and organized service. The service team really wants you to enjoy each experience you have here and make extra efforts to do so. Today, our server heard chopsticks drop on the floor and she was there to replace them before we even had to ask. Each dish is carefully put together and you can tell the Chef cares about every element of the restaurant. Food quality is top tier and there are some menu items that you'd be hard pressed to find elsewhere in Calgary, let alone at the same quality. Reservations recommended!
