The ambiance is fine and there were very few other guests so it was quiet. Our pork chop was over cooked however the waiter handled it perfectly and we had a very nice evening. We will go back.
The service, the food, and cocktails were incredible. We plan to return again and again to try everything on the menu.
Excellent cocktails. My wife enjoyed the shrimp. I had the wedge salad and the meatballs. All good; excellent service. Outdoor dining was still pleasant even though it's July. Neighborhood place to go.
Great for happy hour!
I’m a big ambience person when I go out to dinner and this place is very drab, in the dining area at least. The food is decent though. I wish they would bring back the hummus!
Always a great time at satellite even with a limited menu but great cocktails. I cant wait for the mussels with shrimp toast to come back on the menu. The shrimp toast is the BOMB!
Great place to eat. Has patio dining. A bit pricey but a place for a special occasion. Service was a bit slow but hopefully it will improve when the pandemic issues are improved.
Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. Thank you for being open!
Fairly new to the area, and so many dining choices... Satellite has been my go to of choice time and time again! The restaurant interior is chic and open with mulitple dining areas. Outside patio and around the building includes comfortable dining as well. The staff is always friendly and informed, service is swift, and the food has been excellent visit after visit.
Great food and service just a little warm inside while they are trying to hold cost down.
Service was great! Food was too.
Shrimp, breaded w Pablo, was very good!
We went there for brunch and it was awesome! Ordered two eggs Benedicts, one pancake, eggs and bacon plate and one hamburger. Everything was delicious and the service was great!
Kitchen was a little slow last night but everything else was top notch. We love Satellite.
My note on open table let you know that this was a 70th birthday. I checked in at the hostess desk and double checked she got the note about the birthday and she read and confirmed she did. The problem is that no one told our waitress. She was bringing the bill and I had to ask her (in front of my MIL - they birthday gal) if there is a birthday celebration item available. This is not our first time at Satellite and we picked it because of the great atmosphere and food. A bit disappointed.
Valentines Day says it all. It was about what we expected, crowded, noisy, rushed, food was pretty good. The wait staff was doing their best in the situation. I would definitely give this restaurant another try when it isn’t a special night
On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the best choice I’ve made in 2020 so far, I give them an 11. And the staff, extremely good service.
The aperitif in the fixed price menu for Valentine’s day was a joke! About the size of an oak leaf. Other than that the food was good, the service good enough, and everything else was fine. So it was a good experience, but not a wow experience:
Disappointed with the valentines dinner. Went for the lamb, but it had been dropped from the menu. Had a fry on my small first course plate. Dessert was terrible, regular desserts would have been so much better. $135 was way overpriced - only a cup of soup?
Our favorite neighborhood restaurant..great food, great service, excellent drinks and a great value overall...
Ordered a harissa bowl w shrimp. Looked decent, however the Brussel sprouts were rotted and ruined my palate and the bowl. We brought it to the waitress’ attention and instead of replacing the entire bowl without the brussel sprouts, they were hesitant to even provide a sise replacement of steamed broccoli. So shocked.
We also ordered lettuce wrap w tofu, meatball entree and bread pudding for dessert - all other three were decent.
Overall Have had better grain bowls at zoe’s and panera.
Probably wont be going back here ever again because of the bad brussels sprouts experience and how poorly it was handled.
Food is good but it doesn't make up for slow, rude service. It is so noisy inside you can not have a conversation or hear your waiter.
I saw a fun and festive place decorated for the holidays. I made a note to myself to come back for the lettuce wraps appetizer on their patio in warmer weather.
Incredibly delicious with great drinks! Patio was a little colder than we had planned for but cozied up to the fireplace which helped. Waitress even served us at fireplace seating.
Food was excellent. Even though we had reservations and were eating relatively early (6 pm), we were seated on the end by the bar AND the kitchen. The wait staff had to squeeze by each time and when the seat directly behind us at the bar was taken, it was miserable. The restaurant was over half empty when we were seated. I could be more tolerant if we hadn't booked a reservation, or the place was full.
Great experience. Fantastic food and service.
Great tenderloin and a very good value. Others at the table also enjoyed the salmon, and pork chops. Service was friendly and appropriately attentive.
Panko shrimp excellent; pork chop overdone/dry. Excellent coffee & bread pudding.
I have given this place multiple chances because my husband likes their appetizers. The server completely forgot to take our order, so we sat for 45 minutes with only such appetizer before I waved him down to take our order. It took 2 hours and we didn’t even order desert. When I order a Caesar Salad with Steak, and the server asked how I wanted the steak cooked, I said medium, which experience tells me means pink but not red, and definitely warm throughout. What showed up was cold, shriveled and most likely recycled little tough bits of shoe leather with about a cup worth of lettuce in the “large” dinner salad. Weirdly, my husband ordered the beef tenderloin, and it was perfect. Actually cooked to order, imagine that.
The time before, 2 stacked plates were tossed on our table which we had to pry apart due to caked pasta sauce that remained as the glue holding them together. Wait times were typically long. The manager came over to apologize for both problems, and we are inclined to forgive. However, after this last episode, we are done with the Satellite, as a pretentious, inconsistent and incompetent wanna be Fine Dining Establishment.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Cannot wait to join you again!
Great experience! Came in a little early and table was ready. Sitting next to a crying baby so experience could have been better.
The place is great for a once in a blue moon meal to become memorable. Thank you Beka!!!
Went for brunch, and was happy to see that they offered egg dishes that you don’t get at other restaurants. The Eggs El Segundo Were delicious, and well prepared! Service was timely and friendly. Look forward to returning in the near future.
Food and service great as always, lettuce wraps especially
We dined Sunday for brunch and I was unable to order an alcoholic beverage until I ordered food, which was a bit annoying since I was waiting for my entire party to arrive before we ordered, and it was evident we were going to order. We even offered to get an appetizer while we waited, but it was indicated we had to order an entrée. That has never happened in the past and I hope it doesn't happen again for this type of fairly high-end establishment.
I realized after we left, I did not receive my entire order. I supposed I should have noticed and mentioned it; however, I should have received my entire order without saying anything.
The hostess was a little snooty. The servers were nice, polite and attentive in the right amount.
This little bistro is in my neighborhood and a great place to go. I will definitely keep going.
My favorite south Austin restaurant. Always good food. Great cosmos. Nice patio area.
With limited choices in Southwest Austin, this place is certainly an option for a Friday night dinner or to have drink with friends
Satellite is truly a neighborhood GEM! My favorites are the Tuna Tartare appetizer and the Crab Stuffed Avocado, both with a side of the Ginger Soy dressing instead of the spicy dressing they’re served with. My husband’s favorite is the Meatloaf dinner. We had dinner on the patio which just keeps getting better and better over the years. Our server Sophia (I think) was very friendly and knowledgeable. We definitely recommend the Satellite!!
It was such a bad experience, noise level was quite high.Food was awful.
Very nice. Took a long time to get the food, but the food was good.
