This was I think the worst restaurant ever. My husband got sick immediately upon leaving. Just horrible!
Same quality food and service that's been there for years. I love the atmosphere and location. I'll be back to this "go to" restaurant.
Good service and good food! Missed having the valet there
I've never been disappointed eating here. Their steaks are always perfect.
Awesome food and great atmosphere! Well done on the remodel
The food was very good, I can't remember the last time we had a twice baked potato. We love the "old school" vibe. It was very clubby and cozy.
Good bar, average steaks, very good service in a well known and popular “old world” ( in the positive sense) establishment.
It's wonderful to have such a top quality steak house in Pacific Beach. Saska's never disappoints. We try to get the big red booth in the bar area when we come with friends. The steaks are great, the prime rib perfect and the twice baked potato is awesome. The honey blue cheese dressing is not to be missed.
Very good food from starters through entries. Reasonable prices for high quality food.
Was an amazing meal with an intimate atmosphere. Fantastic service and overall experience!
Great waiter as always. Food is overpriced for what you get. Chicken was tough and rubbery, burger was rare even though ordered medium. The cheesecake was great, but the fact that they put frozen berries on top made the plate watery when they melted, so it soaked the dessert and made the crust mooshy. Waste of money. If the restaurant emerges again after its month off of “kitchen renovations”, I hope they hire cooks that know how to cook well. This place used to be so good but in the last 2 years has really gone down the tubes. RIP Saskas.
Great quiet atmosphere! The food was outstanding and our table of 8 was no problem for them to handle. Yhe food was outstanding and a great menu to pick from.
The food was very good. Although there weren’t many people in the restaurant our service was very poor
It was a very pleasant experience. Would have preferred smaller portions. Steak was done to perfection.
Service great sirloin great. Bone in rib eye not worth $20 but I played $45
My wife and I went for our 30th wedding anniversary. The ambiance was quiet and lovely. The staff let us pick our own table where we would be most comfortable. We started with appetizers and a retro bourbon drink and they were made to perfection. The staff did not rush us as the restaurant was getting very busy! Next, our entrees came and again could not have been prepared any better! My wife got the seared scallops and were the best scallops she ever had, as she is a seafood aficionado having worked in fish companies and markets for the past 25 years. I got The 10 oz sirloin and enjoyed it very much! It was a wonderful evening and will always be remembered by both of us.
Great place, great service very accommodating. Great food.
We really enjoyed and hope to come back when I'm down here again
Had the Filet and it was tender and flavorful. Cooked just right. Great service and finished with three scoops of ice cream with chocolate and caramel sauce.
Been coming here for years. We like some of the changes and not others. Food and service is always good, though. Please consider putting your fried zucchini back on the menu and try and get back to the original honey blu salad dressing. I really miss the original. I also miss “the carpetbagger”steak. And the teriyaki too sirloin was good too.
The steak and prime rib is excellent and the sides were also delicious.
Wait staff only seems to care about parties of 4 or more people. Food was good but nothing special. This was my second and last visit to this restaurant.
Really cute at first glance but as I look further this restaurant has an amazing potential to be a legendary spot.
Food was really good but nothing extrodinary, nor do I think that is what they are going for. Staying with the normal non froofie, confort food & traditional steak house menu selections. Love the old school steak house feel and apprecieate the local vibe but new floring & fireplace in the DR would really be cool (:
The bar area would be perfect for some live music
Food was great, service was impeccable! We had dinner with friends, and we had a wonderful time! Thanks!!!
Thoroughly enjoyed our old school charm of the restaurant
We loved the history and certainly will be going back
This was a great place for a nice quiet, romantic birthday dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the staff was phenomenal.
My boyfriend and I were looking for a higher-end restaurant for a romantic date night, but Saska's felt so dark and cramped. There was a small black hair in my soup, which I sent back. The staff was okay and the appetizer was great, but they did not even keep the white wine bottle that we ordered chilled; it was just left on our table. I would never spend this kind of money on a place like this again.
Took over an hour and a half to get a steak that i ended up having to made to go because of how long it took and how late it was.
I will also add that it was not at all an extremely busy night, this was overall a staffing issue.
Hidden gem, AMAZING FOOD, good staff, old school feel.
Awesome! Love this place.
I'm so grateful to have Saska's in my neighborhood, and I've been pleased with the improvements made since the new ownership took over last year. The prices have leveled out to be a nice deal for a good steak dinner (for a while, it was really overpriced), and the service was excellent the last two times I've been in. Austin was most recently our server, and he was extremely attentive and great with the kids. My kids (9 and 10) love the garlic bread that is served to every table, and they also look forward to the big baked potatoes and twice-baked potatoes. I really enjoy the salad, which is excellent! We will continue coming back for special occasions and when we're just in the mood for some red meat!
pleasant atmosphere and the food was enjoyable. The only negative thing was the lack of parking but that comes with the beach.
VERY NICE, VERY GOOD, VERY FRIENDLY, VERY CLEAN RESTAURANT
Old school steakhouse vibe meets remodeled classy place
Attentive and friendly staff with fun customers make this a must visit at least once a month.
The prime rib on the weekends is awesome and the top sirloin steak is the best I’ve ever tasted
Had The Cowboy -ribeye - Oscar-style, with a twice baked potato and it was delicious! The drinks were great too.
Excellent filet and Bearnaise sauce - twice baked potato is delish! The artichoke dip appetizer is served in a small cast iron skillet - all very good. Drinks are expensive....
This restaurant has been open for over 30 years. Food is great, service is also.
My wife and I had an amazing date night because of Saska's.
Preferred the original Saska's dinner salad. The new version is served in a bowl filled to the top and easier to eat when spread out on the plate the bowl is served on. The greens are healthy, but hard to eat as the pieces are large.
Great staff, great service and great food. Very generous portions, so glad we walked home to fitbit off the calories! Liked it so much we went there again the next night. The happy hour is early, 3-5 ,going to try to get off the beach in time to make it in time for fantastic happy hour deals!
I have known of the Saskas restaurant for over 30 years, it was and still is the best food and service for the price. Whenever I am in town I go to the beach and try to get there to eat I took a friend that traveled with me, a real food connoisseur, and he loved it.
This is a small local's favorite! The steak and twice baked potatoes are excellent - steak lovers will not be disappointed. Great service. Parking is off street and difficult to find a spot - the only negative about dining here.
