About sarita a restaurant
Our focus at Sarita is new American cuisine. A style of food that's not pigeonholed into one country or one style. But a representation of all of us. A blend of the best if you will. My background is very Pacific Rim Californian, so you can expect lighter dishes with natural reductions, a lot of vinaigrettes, less cream, less butter -- but unbelievable flavors. We're going to continually evolve and have fun with the menu. You will always experience something new when you come in.

sarita a restaurant Ratings and Reviews
This is a follow up from my 4 star review on October 20. We weren't overly impressed with the service or food then but said we'd give it another shot. We did last night. I made an 8:30 reservation (8:15 was also available). We came in a few minutes early and said we were ok with sitting at the first available table but preferred the main dining room. The hostess informed us that a table in the dining room would be open shortly. When a table opened up and was cleaned nobody approached us to show us to it. Our guest from Chicago finally asked if we could be seated. The hostess said she was seating someone there already and asked us if we wanted a high top (the time was now 8:45), this high top was available from the time we walked in the restaurant. We said no because we could have just sat there had it been offered when we came in. We stood around for a few more minutes, we had not been approached once at this point since we checked in. We left and will not be going back. This restaurant is aiming at upscale but does not seem to be sustaining it. This was extremely disappointing as we had an out of town guest and we live about 35 minutes away.
While my wife and I like Sarita, we still miss Players. The food, service and atmosphere at Sarita are all good and for the price, a reasonable value. However, in the several times we have dined here, nothing stands out as being truly distinctive or special that alone would make the restaurant a destination choice. Good but not great.
There is such a great variety on the menu at Sarita. We've tried half the meals and have never been disappointed. We'd be there every night if it wasn't a half hour from our house. The crab cakes, pork chop and brussel sprouts were all delicious. I would highly recommend trying this place.
I never give local neighborhood restaurants five star reviews. Having said that, this restaurant is an exception to that. Outstanding service, terrific menu and thoughtful wine selection. I can’t read this restaurant highly enough in it segment. If you haven’t tried it, do yourself a favor and give it a shot. You will love it!
The food was good and the service was great. Our server was very attentive. The seating was pretty cramped, and the lighting was terrible. The track lighting had spotlights on specific tables, and one was right on top of my table making us anxious and hot - felling like we were on display. I would rec sitting at the high top bar area.
Saturday night, many specials - enjoyed the pork tenderloin, beef short ribs, scallops dishes. Kitchen VERY busy, had a couple order mishaps, but they removed those from our bill without any fuss. The ambiance was very welcoming, nice crowd, but not overly noisy. We plan to come back soon!
I ordered the grouper which was a special and the waiter did not offer the price, which was $36 which I would not have ordered if I had known. I should have asked. The grouper had good flavors but was slightly over done and dry. The potatoes were cold and I believe were likely plated well before the fish. Over all disappointing. The lobster spring rolls were just ok but the Brie was amazing!!
Carl was the server and he is friendly, knowledgeable, professional and attentive to our needs. I had my parents from out of town and my mother and I have celiac disease. We were happy with the choices, although she wanted the fish and it was already prepared with the wheat coating. In the future could they possible put a few aside for not only wheat allergies but paleo diet as well.
Great food and ambience.
So glad we came tonight! Chef/owner Anthony Romano was gracious and welcoming and his menu was amazing and creative. All four of us were delighted with our food- appetizer of phyllo wrapped Brie with Pear Chutney was delicious, Sarita salads fresh and nicely dressed, special appetizers and entrees wonderful and all served hot and in a timely manner by our server, Cory. The dessert of coffee gelato and doughnuts was the best dessert I've enjoyed in years. So appropriate to share. After many mediocre dining experiences over the past year or two, this was a dinner to remember and to bring us back soon.
This was our first time since the restaurant change. The restaurant still has an upscale appeal but our server was a little slow and inattentive. The menu is very impressive and there were many dishes I wanted to try. I ordered the special, swordfish with mushroom risotto. The swordsish was exellent but the risotto was cold and with no flavor, you couldn't even taste the mushrooms. My husbands risotto was also cold and unflavorful but his steak was excellent. One person in our party was not drinking alcohol and their drink was never refilled unless they asked. Not overly impressed but we'd give it another chance.
We went there for my birthday. I ordered the scallops and while it was very tasty, it was lukewarm. Our server was not very attentive. Even though he glanced at our table twice, I had to flag him down to get his attention. I have had better service here before and I am sure I will again.
Dinner was an absolute treat . Everything from the service to the food and presentation was just top-notch. The dishes were creative and absolutely mouthwatering . We would not have known about this place if it was not for OpenTable . It was a 45 minute drive but worth every ounce of gas . The only thing that would be better is if I would have room for dessert because we really wanted to try the fried banana split and the coffee and donuts dessert .
We have been here one time before and it was good. Came back Friday night and were seated at a table with no silverware or napkins. We sat there for over 10 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. The water glasses had room temperature water with no ice. After we received our drinks, the waiter then came over every 5 minutes to see if we were ready to order. So much for a relaxing dinner. Ordered the "white Tuscan bean soup" for an appetizer which came out and looked like a bowl of baked beans. Overall we were not all impressed with Sarita. Probably will never go back.
Consistently good food, creative menu, lots of great specials, fabulous patio, cozy bar, excellent happy hour, wonderful attentive service. Really well-done food just down the street from home in Lakewood. I will say, though, that I liked the decor of the restaurant much better with the natural wood that was the motif when it was Players. But the Sarita remodel absolutely improved the patio, which is now fabulous.
You can go back to all my previous reviews of Sarita to see that it never fails to please with great ambiance, outstanding servers (Jerry's recitation of the specials of the day is like poetry), and creative menu offerings. This time we brought friends from Delaware who were very impressed. They have dined all over the world, and said that often Cleveland "fine dining" is good, but does not live up to the hype they've read. In the case of Sarita, our recommendation and reviews matched what was delivered. These friends are oenophiles, and their only criticism was the price point of the wine list. They knew exactly what each bottle would be retail, so they felt the prices were not in proportion to the price of the food. Thanks again, Sarita, for a wonderful evening.
We met with long time friends and had a very very nice time just sitting and discussing recent trips. While there, we were able to have a nice open conversation without having to be concerned about being overheard!! There were plenty of conversations going on all around us but not close enough to be able to hear what we were saying, nor from our collective opinion caring to. We also had a great waiter named Carl who did a very very nice job of serving us and following up on any and all of our requests.
The food was extremely good and the six of us were to a person pleased with the entire experience. We will be coming back again to enjoy ourselves
