Dishes change regularly with the seasons and new specials are added to the blackboards each day. Wines are from France and Italy with some available on-tap and a specialist aperitif bar offers up fun and affordable cocktails too.
Sardine is Chef / Owner Alex Jackson’s first restaurant after stints at Dock Kitchen and Rotorino. Sardine is the 5th restaurant within Stevie Parle restaurants.
Amazing food, beautifully cooked and friendly service. My only complaint is that the cheeseboard consisted of three small pieces of cheese that were straight out of the fridge. Other than that, superb.

We were looking forward to Sardine and enjoyed our meal. I chose the pork and it was delicious.
I do sometimes wonder why restaurants choose to have an open kitchen. As a woman, the last thing I want to be faced with during my evening is the sight of sweaty chefs and grimy saucepans. In addition to that the space is drafty and we were sitting at the door end of the long table. I think Sardine could improve the comfort/aesthetics of the restaurant.
The staff were courteous and attentive, and the service was faultless.
Good selection southern french style cooking. Great for social occasions. Very good wine list with lots of choice. Ambiance good but it is cosy. Service was excellent and staff friendly and repossive.

What a gem! We came for brunch and really enjoyed the cassoulet. The food, ambiance and service were all exceptional. An essential when visiting the Victoria Miro or Parasol Unit galleries
Four of us for dinner. We booked under the London Festival Scheme: not really impressed by the menu so we chose a la carte. Trevise compotee was a new taste really appreciated. Pork, fish, clams, lentils - I think I can say everything was good and tasty. Presentation/plate-up was far from being super sophisticated but it actually suited the place's style and we didn't mind as the taste was good.
Didn't try the cheese myself but I know well the provider Mons - who is a proper cheese refiner, so I'm sure it must be good ;-)
Service was okay - nothing really special.
It was overall a good evening - good food, good wine, decent service. Only hiccup: the horrible smell that suddenly invaded the restaurant towards the end of the evening and one of the chef brushing his teeth in the kitchen (?)
This restaurant was a very pleasant surprise. We went for brunch on a Sunday; unfortunately it was empty and we couldn’t understand why as the food was excellent. There wasn’t an extensive menu, but the food was beautifully prepared and delicious. The service was excellent. This place is not in a very bustling location so maybe it hasn’t been discovered yet. Definitely worth a try!

When the room is full of diners it becomes unbearably noisy. It is difficult to have a conversation. However, the food is incredible, the staff superb and patient. The fish dishes allow the chefs to display their bravado more than the onglet steaks or rabbit options, so opt for those. Sardine starter not to be missed.

This wonderful small restaurant is a true gem. Situated next to ParasolUnit and Victoria Miro Gallery the restaurant serves up a carefully balanced menu consisting of Mediterranean/ French dishes, all beautifully executed, perfectly seasoned and presented with flair.

Great experience. Small unpretentious restaurant in a quirky location that served fresh and exceptionally well prepared dishes. Friendly, professional staff who all seemed enthusiastic and happy to be there. Simple modern decor with open kitchen that created a warm, contemporary feel. A high quality to price ratio that leads me to say that Sardine outperformed many of those I consider to be its peers in the price range.
Was my friends birthday and we wanted to try somewhere new. This was a very unexpected and great find. Food was fantastic, great flavours all around, great portion size.

The overall experience was good although i had a view facing the open kitchen and it was unpleasant to see the chef constantly eating. In any case, the food was amazing and the place is very cozy.
Had a fantastic fish dish for main. Staff were attentive and really helpful. We were there on a Tuesday in January at 7:30, so there weren't that many people there....but it did begin to fill up.

Very tasty food. Kernel beer is very good. Pleasant buzzy atmosphere. Only issue was that we were served a little too quickly. We could have been in and out with two courses in well under an hour. At £35/head, that’s a bit quick unless you are looking for speed

We dined on Monday night as we knew that they did a £15 steak, potato and glass of wine offer. Whilst this wasn't immediately clear on the menu that it was available it definitely was and we enjoyed the well-cooked onglet steak, potato dauphinois and house red. We added a green salad to accompany it and finished the meal with some delicious cheeses and fortified wine. Staff were friendly, food was tasty and the bill didn't hurt. Overall a great night, would recommend!
Overall a bit disappointing. It took ages for anyone to come and take our order and the waiter didn’t ever seem too interested in wanting to impress. I ordered scrambled eggs which tasted food but had a number of egg shells in it and my friend ordered their version of a croque monsieur with sausage added but the sausage wasn’t in it when it arrived! It was also burnt in a number of places. Overpriced for the issues we had and poor service.
We were having a reunion with a couple of old friends from the US so we were slow at choosing our meal, a bit noisy and then slow to eat annd late to leave! However from start to finish the service was friendly and charming. The food was great - notably the brandade filled courgette flowers ( although only one helping available) and the amazing fig leaf icecream with roast figs. The seasonal negroni was also really notable. The bill does tot up a bit though for somewhere thats quite casual and understated. This doesn’t put us off going though and we have rebooked in a couple of weeks.

Food and wine were divine. We just did not feel very welcome by the male manager who seemed grumpy. His female colleague, however, was smiley, friendly and helpful. Shame as this could have been a 5-star experience.

Excellent find near old street - we visited for lunch midweek but will certainly be returning for an evening dinner one weekend. We we’re amazed at level of cooking and the menu, took us back to hols in a south of France!
