What do you do when you want something done properly – especially when you’re a long way from home and you simply can’t find exactly what you’re looking for? Well, the tried and tested answer, of course, is to do it yourself – and that is exactly what Giuseppe, founder of Sapore Vero did, when he created our first Pizzeria in Beckenham, South East London – now entering its 11th year of trade – and then opened a 2nd in nearby Hither Green in 2019. After moving to London (quite some years ago now!), Giuseppe quickly found himself becoming frustrated with a lack of truly authentic Italian pizza, “that I liked”, as he puts it, produced using the methods that he grew up with, like generations before him, in his native Calabria, Southern Italy.

We came to Sapore Vero to celebrate a birthday. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, we were given a lovely table, the food was excellent. The staff went out of the way to make our celebration special.

Six of us had an excellent meal. The Fritto Misto was really good , and the Rum Baba so light, but could have done with some rum.

This is a lovely restaurant with delicious authentic Italian food. The staff are so kind and accommodating. I booked a lunch for my partner’s birthday and we were welcome with a hand written birthday card and got given profiteroles with candles at the end of our meal! A local gem in Crystal Palace :)

Our son's 21st..... and where to go? The staff made us welcome from the outset. The food, drinks and service were all excellent and the added touch of singing Happy Birthday had him suitably embarrassed. All in all, a super evening. Thank you.

They put salt in the pepper shaker that was labelled with a ‘P’, when I complained after I covered my pizza with it and didn’t realise until I was halfway through the pizza (which I thought just tasted bad), they argued with me that I could have told them before eating half of it… I just didn’t realise! Made out I was just trying to scam them out of free food, which I wasn’t. I still have a salty taste in my mouth now from it, the next day. Very poor service and should have put their hands up for the mistake instead of arguing with me. It’s a shame as me and my wife have been there before a few times, and it’s been great. But now we won’t go back again. Let themselves down.

This place knows how to do customer satisfaction. I booked for my daughter’s birthday, they called beforehand to confirm details. They gave her a birthday card and was very accommodating with us bringing our own birthday cake. Food was lovely, great atmosphere. So simple but there aren’t many places who get the basics so right. I highly recommend.

Poor experience. My food was overall bland, service was rushed and my stomach has not recovered since eating here. It looked dirty in the kitchen, I do not recommend.

We aim to delivery the best food possible and we have very good hygiene standards in the kitchen, however I would love to know what makes you think our kitchen is dirty so I can re check this and address the problem. All our food is freshly cooked and usually consumption is within the day so we don't have old food in our fridges.
