Santo Mare is born from our idea of rediscovering and offering on our table in London the true Italian seafood cuisine and its tastes.

For this reason, we sail every day through the Tyrrhenian Sea, with our fishing boats back in Italy, to catch the best quality food. We then ship daily the fruits of our efforts to London and provide our clients with the chance to live an authentic experience.

Service was mediocre , the restaurant needs a facelift, it all felt a bit grubby. The food was fine, thought not memorable. It’s a shame as the last time I went (2 years ago) everything. Was superlative. So frankly it was rather disappointing.

The main issue was the absurd price of the fish — £236 for a 1.7 kg sea bream, with no clear disclosure of cost beforehand. That’s nearly £140/kg, far beyond what even London’s top restaurants charge. On top of that, a 15% service charge was already included, yet staff still tried to force us for an extra tip — without mentioning service had already been added. That kind of tactic feels deliberately misleading. It’s a shame, because the setting and food were otherwise fine. But the sense of being taken advantage of completely ruined the experience. I wouldn’t go back.
