Sea Bass was excellent. Also they have a designated pastry chef now who is very skilled. We really enjoyed our experience.
Visited Monday night with my 93 y/o mother and restaurant was very accommodating and made sure to provide us with a window table with a nice sunset view. Food was very good and well prepared fresh fish. A nice "only in California" outing.
We sat on the enclosed patio. It was great. We brought our niece for her birthday, this was her first time here. She was super impressed with the chowder. Wonderful as always.
We eat here regularly. The view is great, food is great, prices are decent, although you can get more expensive dishes and fancier options as well (whole lobster, while crab, grilled fish with sides, etc.) We like the clam chowder and fish sandwiches, their lobster roll is very popular and all of their sides are exquisite. I just wish they offered fish tacos on their menu! Great kids menu, I like that they offer kid-friendly dishes as well as healthy options. We like the Salmon with potatoes, broccoli and cauliflower for the kids. It’s a real meal for them and healthy. But they also have hot dogs, fish and chips, and Mac and cheese for the kids as well. Relaxed atmosphere. It feels like you are on vacation when you go there to eat.
We arrived early for our reservation and were seated immediately. The clam chowder was amazing as usual. The crab cakes were fabulous with tons of real crab and no fillers. This has always been one of my absolute favorite restaurants.
Excellent service and food!
wonderful service and enjoyed the food Thanks Also the view was wonderful had a nice table by the window
Had a wonderful lunch food was great--would definitely go there again.
Ordered the Gumbo, but I have to say that I prefer the clam chowder. Also, the warm lobster roll is the way to go. The cold dressed one Is still good. Service was great!
Always good...especially apps. Fish can be overcooked. Fun and view make a really great spot for out-of-towners!
This is a great place. Loved the atmosphere and the view! Food was great!!! Will go back if in the area again.
Wonderful table near window, great service. Great salads!
Lobster roll was LOUSY. First three bites were shell. Bread tasted stale. Seated on patio and it was cold, despite the heaters. Service was good.
I would suggest to kind of wait for a few moment for the appetizer to be done before
serving the main dish. That wll keep the food warm and also not pressure the customer to eat
it all at one time.
Fabulous location and great food. No wait with Open Table
It’s always a great experience at Sam’s it’s definitely one of my favorite places to dine that’s for sure! I am always going to be a regular here!
Sam's is just fun. Great ambience, great views, always good service.
Came here the first time. Drove 2 1/2 hours just to try the food here. Made a reservation just in case it will be a full house. Luckily, we got there with an almost full house but got a chance to sit outside. The view was nice. We ordered fried pacific oysters for appetizers. I liked the way they cook the fried oysteres. Crispy on the outside and the oyster is soft and fresh. You can still taste the freshness of the oyster when it's just got opened. The only thing that i think is missing is the cocktail sauce. Their cocktail sauce is okay. I was looking for something more stronger cocktail sauce. By then it will be perfect for me. I like their chowder soup because the bacon is fried and not just tossed in with the potatoes, celery etc. We ordered shrimp linguine amd seafood spaghetti. The shrimp linguine is insteresting because i have eaten shrimp linguine from other restaurants and their recipe here is different. I can taste the lemon but it is not overpowering the taste of the dish itself. Seafood spaghetti will be the one that I'd be recommending to you. The mussels, shrimps, manila clams, scallops etc were properly cooked and the ingredients do mix well. The spicyness of it is not too much, just enough to give it a kick and at the same time you can still enjoy the sauce covering your spaghetti. We enjoyed the food, the scenery and the ambiance.
Miguel, our waiter, was awesome!
The famous lobster roll and clam chowder did not disappoint! Neither did the stuffed shrimp or cobbler he recommended!
First time here! We’ll be back! Not sure what took us so long! Great spot in the beach!
We are frequent visitors and enjoy the clam chowder, gumbo, polenta fries and seafood spaghetti. The salads are probably my least favorite item..but other than that.we've always enjoyed our meals at Sam's. Service is normally very friendly and attentive. Lovely view in very casual setting..
Great location! Enjoyed the food and the service. Lobster rolls are delicious.
We love driving up HWY 1 to Sam's Chowder House for their dressed lobster roll, steamed clams, calamari, Caesar salad and whatever else we're in the mood for. We never leave there without having their twisted ice cream sundae, a great way to end our wonderful meal.
we have been MANY times and the food is always mediocre at best...this time we opted for the lobster roll (their famous menu item)--tasteless and dry and old. Not worth the hype and $26 price tag (even though it included a lot of lobster meat). The the day was beautiful, the view unbelievable and the servers are always tops.
Excellent! Great chowder, atmosphere and fried shrimp!
Had a great time. Enjoyed the Lobster Roll. Food was "Middle American" but ok.
I would go back.
Reasonably good food at a decent price
Location, location, location!
We got there 40 minutes early and we were seated right away after verifying our reservation online.
The waitress who served us was top notch! Very attentive even though she was busy with other tables.
The food was excellent! The dessert is to die for!
My husband (birthday boy) had the seafood spaghetti but instead requested to substitute spaghetti with linguini - No problem!
Our son had the crab sandwich - gone in 60 seconds! :)
I had the seafood salad - so fresh and so yummy!
The warm chocolate cake with huckleberry sauce and vanilla bean ice cream was just to die for!
We drive “ over the hill” from Mountain View to Sam’s about every other month. Have been doing this for years and are never disappointed. Love everything about Sam’s, food, location, service, the people. On this last visit we found that they are sponsoring local disabled people selling absolutely amazing flowers in a tent outside. Bought two bunches, best ever, wish I was better at technology, I would post a picture.
The manager was awesome and super friendly. The food was great...loved the swordfish and the lobster roll. We look forward to our next visit!
Wonderful lunch spot for my mom, sister and myself!!! Staff was professional and pleasant from entry to exit💗
Great food, incredible location along the ocean. Always one of our very favorites for my wife and I and when we have guests from out of town
I ordered shrimp scampi with linguine. It wasn't truly a scampi. The shrimp were tough/over-cooked. The linguine was served in all butter, not much olive oil, if any. Nothing special about this dish for $22. My husband had the tuna poke which he said was okay. Our waitress was great. We had a nice table looking out to the water.
Great food and great view, clam chowder and lobster rolls were great.
The food is great!
It is expensive, but worth the price.
The chowder was delicious... however that naked lobster roll was dry and unsatisfying. Seemed almost rubbery. Also, waitress forgot the kids salmon and had to ask for water twice. Son was getting crabby because he was hungry.
Very Nice , Thank you . Took my Wife for Our 25 th Year Anniversary , she Loved it , great Food , good music and A Very Warm and Relaxing Place To be in the Evening.
We were seated right away and our waiter came right over to introduce himself. We ordered our drinks, appetizer and main courses all at once. Maybe shouldn't have done that. Our appetizer arrived before the drinks and our main meal followed a few minutes later. The drinks arrived last. The waiter was very apologetic, it was a fairly busy Saturday night, but I felt a bit rushed. We had a 5:15 reservation and we were done by 6:15. The food was amazing. Just wish we could have slowed things down a bit.
Have seen the packed parking lot many times finally made a reservation and loved it. Great selection of seafood including local, saw plenty of kid-friendly options, excellent appetizers, main courses, gumbo and desserts. Pricey but location is outstanding, lots of indoor and outdoor seating for groups of all sizes, we will definitely go back for future special occasions.
Oysters were fresh and fried calamari was tasty but the lobster roll was flavorless and the service was very slow
The view was spectacular. The food was ok I have a salad. The restaurant was overpriced. I heard it was a famous place. I had been there two years ago on my visit to Pacifica but didn’t know that.
