   2nd time here. first time was outstanding, just wow, a 10/10 in every category. this time not so much. Defiantly some menu changes, different parm on the mozz sticks, very salty calamari, thicker pesto, slightly under cooked pasta for my wife. All of which didn't necessarily ruin the dish but it wasn't amazing. never got an actual server but got who i assumed to be the maitre d'. had to ask for a drink menu, had to ask twice for certain things or other servers passing by. waited quite a bit for our main course to come out, other tables orders coming out timely i assumed he forgot to put ours in, or put it in late. while taking our order he just assumed me and my wife were going to share the dish i ordered, and proceeded to reach for her menu before asking her what she would like to eat as well, which was slightly strange and offensive. checked up on us minimally, had to ask another different server for boxes and the check. overall it wasn't a terrible experience, sammies is amazing from atmosphere to the food however i expected a little more and i feel like if i were taken care of by any of the servers who i interacted with, the night would've been much more enjoyable and pleasant. personally I wouldn't revisit in the future.

   First time here for date night! Calamari was crispy and the caesar allá Tommy was amazing! Will be coming back here again!

   After seeing this place reviewed by several of my coworkers and friends, I decided to make a reservation. The reservation time is about two weeks for a good dinner time so I selected the closest I could get. I went in at 9:30 and they said my table was not ready until the exact time 945. After being sat, I noticed that the majority of the fixtures from the previous owners were still in place and there were some updates made to the restaurant. I was expecting this place to be low-key and a lot less loud. For a Friday night they have music going and the entire restaurant was talking so it was absurdly loud. I was having a little bit of an anxiety attack because of the sensory overload. We ordered our meals, and the plates were roughly about family style, which was pretty good and also a salad and the meatballs. Meatballs were a little bit spicier than I expected, but decent and well prepared. The salad was plated beautifully with a nice dressing. We also ordered two drinks one house limoncello and the other was a Manhattan. Both drinks were poured strong. I definitely recommend only one drink if you’re going out for a simple cocktail. In regards to the overall taste of the plates my pasta and chicken was well prepared and extremely hot. The chef must have plated it and brought it straight to our table. This wasn’t a problem since I love my food to be right out of the kitchen. I will say overall, the food, the drinks, the friendliness of the staff was on par. Before leaving, we placed an order for tiramisu and I will say I have had much better tiramisu but again this was just dessert. I will be back to try the other dishes and cocktails.

   Food is not just good, it's outstanding. Portions are large and are made for splitting. Caesar salad was the best I've ever tasted in my life. Desserts are delicious as well - the cheesecake was so good. The service was knowledgeable, helpful, and prompt. Simply no complaints here. I will return often. Book well in advance for reservations.

   It’s rare when a restaurant gets everything right on a first visit, but Sammie’s did it! We were immediately pleased with a wonderful table and an expert server who guided us masterfully through the menu and, more importantly, the world-class wine list. Next - drinks and bites were on the table in a very short time (I recommend the Sammie’s Manhattan, by the way). And then the “home run” - some of the very best traditional Italian food we’ve had this side of Italy. Both the Marsala and Piccata dishes we ordered were perfectly prepared and the accompanying pasta literally “made” the meal. With a shared gelato for dessert and a last sip of a delicious grappa, we knew we had enjoyed a special dinner. Now I understand why reservations are challenging! Bravo, Sammie’s!

   Our server Dylan was fantastic along with the food! We started out with drinks and a calamari appetizer. While the calamari was on a little of the salty side the marinara toned it down. The Cesar salad that Sammie's has was SO GOOD! I enjoyed the presentation and flavors. Our entree was delicious as well as our dessert. I've wanted to come to Sammie's for a while now and I am happy that we were able to come. The restaurant itself was very charming. The only downfall was that everyone was in the restaurant was particular loud that night, so it was sometimes hard to hear the conversation I was having with my husband from across the table.
