Family of 4 for dinner together. Had a gift card we could use too. Nice place for dinner and drinks. Highly recommend the Wild Mushroom Pappardelle, absolutely delicious!
We’ve dined many times and Salut and despite some occasional service issues, the food has always been good. Not this visit however. My walleye was mushy and gag-reflex fishy tasting. Bad fish. If that wasn’t enough, my potatoes were raw - still hard and obviously horrible. My wife’s Duck was as good as always according to her. I politely complained and my entree was deducted, but with one entree, one salad, three glasses of wine, our bill was over $100 with tip. Might be a while before we chance another visit.
Great food and friendly service.
Would recommend Salut for a nice dinner out. A bit on the pricier side, but good happy hour offerings and the food is delicious.
We waited forever to get our food. They were out of many things on the menu (seafood), I assume due to supply chain issues. Our orders were messed up. The asparagus we inedible. We were loyal, repeat customers and I can't blame the restaurant, I guess, due to employment and supply chain issues. I hope it gets better.
Had a wonderful time! Came for an anniversary dinner and was not disappointed! Great food, awesome service, and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Great service / delicious food! Cant go wrong here!
Very good. But, oysters were not available.
Service was great. We were able to carry a conversation ( read on other reviews about the noise). We sat in a booth. The food was very good. Just right portions. quality over quantity.
The meal lived up to our expectations.
Great service for a group of demanding women! ; ) Really great HH deals from 4p-6p and not just fried food options. Oysters on the half shell on the HH menu. Great wine choices as well. And just an amazing server, I'm bummed I didn't get her name because she was great. All employees are masked which is comforting knowing they care about their employees and patrons health and safety.
Loved the walleye. Good salad and wine. Good shrimp appetizer
Great place, I have been a recurring patron for years -- would like the closing hours to be back to pre-covid times...
The service was quite slow, although, to be fair, the restaurant was quite busy. The entrees were all quite good. The kiddie drinks were overpriced. A nice place for a date, but not as great for a family.
Fun time with family
Great food and nice HH wine and beer selections
My go-to place when I don't want to cook. I was happy to see such a good crowd! Oysters always a plus.
We enjoy the patio and bar area. Always a great time at Salut!
We had never eaten in this Salut Restaurant and it was a lovely experience. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the main course and the desserts were excellent. The decor is charming and the service was exceptional. It was a delightful evening and we will be back!
Server was short, cold, and not engaging at all. Food was good, but not worth the $$$ we spent.
Wonderful, attentive server who offered excellent advice on the menu. Food was excellent as always. Great mixture of classic French with some American favorites. Highly recommend.
We enjoy going to Salut, however, the food was average at best last night. In the past we’ve had an excellent meal. The calamari and crème brûlée were great. They ran out of mussels so we could not have those for an appetizer nor were they in the bouillabaisse. The fries were so so and garlic mushrooms were much less flavorful. I chalk it up to an off night. The atmosphere, service, and booth were great
Food was delicious and service was good, too! We will definitely be back again soon!
This was our last trip to St. Paul as my kid is moving to go to grad school. Salut was the one place we had to visit, after 14 years of trips. All the dishes we had were 5-star. The onion soup—fabulous, and reviving on a cold night. Steak tip sandwich—superb. Beef bourguignon that melts in the mouth. And we had to have the salted caramel pot de creme one more time.
Salut never fails to provide delicious food, wonderful service and a lovely atmosphere.
Always a treat to eat at Salut! Quick efficient service/ delicious food and nice ambiance with the moon in view! Looks like we had a great last dinner outside for 2021!! Thanks! Phil and Laura
Delicious steak sandwich. We also had the sweet potato waffle fries which were also great.
We enjoyed our Sunday night dinner at Salut. My husband and I both had the special Sunday dinner which was fine but next time we will order from the menu.
We've been coming to this location for almost ten years, and we've never had anything but amazing experiences here. The food, the service, the ambiance, and the drinks are always fantastic. We always recommend this location whenever asked for a good place to go!
This place is lovely, however, if it's busy, it is acoustically noisy. Our food was outstanding with the exception of the asparagus under my crab cake (entree) which was tough and stingy. Not all of it, but enough of it to be disappointing. The rest of the members of our party had no complaints at all with their food choice. I'd definitely go there again as the offerings are quite out of the ordinary in terms of other restaurant's offerings in the area and the quality, for the most part is great.
Be prepared for the 5% charge for "safety/benefits Service" (what does that mean anyway?) added to the check.
Calamari is still the best in town because of the breading and aioli sauce. One disappointment, however, was not having peppers and pickled peppers as a garnish. Zucchini is not a suitable replacement.
I had a garden salad with salmon added to it...the salmon was a tiny portion, very dry and overcooked. I asked for a 2nd glass of wine 4 times. I didn't get it until my meal was over. Our waiter was very nice but he definitely needs improvement. Very expensive for a garden salad, poorly prepared salmon and drink ordering issues.
Always have a great dining experience at Salut Bar American in St. Paul. One of our absolute favorite spots. Great service, good food, great ambience.
It took more than 75 minutes to get our food.
This is typically a favorite place. The pandemic may have resulted in staff shortages. My husbands entree was excellent and nicely prepared. My salmon dish was dry, over cooked and lacking any flavor. They did offer to redo the entree. I was not charged. They handled it correctly but I was just disappointed as this place has been a long favored place.
Nothing. I honestly love it! The ambiance is wonderful.
We enjoyed our evening on the patio at Salut. Food and service were good.
Always a nice place to eat. Service was very good and food was too although pretty simple in our case. Chocolate mousse was great.
Outstanding: 1) sitting on Salut's patio on a lovely and comfortable autumnal evening; 2) service from Christy; 3) our vodka martinis and the Château Lamothe de Haux (Bordeaux)
Good: 1) pommes frites; 2) escargots
Fair: 1) calamars frits
Ordered the baked Brie - I think it had been allowed to sit too long. It was solid and cool and not nearly as good as I’ve had in the past.
Both host and waiter were rude, telling me that unless all 10 in my group showed up they might not let me keep my table. What?? It was 4pm on a Sunday…lots of open tables. I had made a reservation. Why the rudeness?
