Went for the March Dining Month fixed price special. Great food and service, lovely atmosphere, quiet enough to converse. We'll go again!
Great for special occasions. Beautiful location and great food.
This was our first time there.....it is an amazing, fabulous Brunch! Everything I had was delicious....my husband can't stop raving about the prime rib and Thai salmon. The service is exceptional!! We were greeted with balloons and wished a Happy Anniversary, taken to our table.
The only issue I had were the stairs. Although I don't have an issue with stairs, that day I did wear high heels and I had a very hard time going up and down the stairs to get my food. Next time I will request a table downstairs or wear flats ahaahaha
Fabulous champagne Sunday Brunch. Excellent selection of seafood, salads, desserts and more. Love, love, love the chocolate fountain. Almost put a glass under the fountain to enjoy as a decadent drink. Professional and friendly staff.
We were celebrating my niece’s recent promotion to director of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Our Taste of Portland special was outstanding! Thank you to our greeter, server and manager for congratulating my niece. The champagne toast was a surprise touch! She was touched by your thoughtfulness.
The food very good, especially the seared scallops special. Very good. Highly recommended.
The building and layout is nice, the staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. The problem? The food. We ordered an appetizer that included prawns, calamari and a crab cake. The cake was fine, but the prawns and the calamari were very dry and clearly overcooked. Pretty unexpected for such a highly spoken of seafood place.
My wife ordered the special, a dish with scallops and gnocchi. She complained that the gnocchi was so dry and hard that it was inedible. I ordered the surf and turf which consists of a 5 oz filet and a half of a lobster tail. The lobster was overcooked to the point of being dry and tough, through ironically the steak was cooked as ordered, medium rare. Given the prices we were both perplexed at the total lack of quality in the cooking staff.
The food quality was similar to what I would expect from red lobster, which is less than half the price, in PDX that simply isn't acceptable, I don't believe we will return. It's a shame, we'd always heard of Salty's as a much loved and respected place, clearly those days are past.
My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner at Salty’s. It was our first time there and we will definitely be going back. We had a beautiful view of the Columbia River, and even though it was raining we were able to see a vibrant rainbow as the sun peaked through. It was a lovely experience and we can’t wait to eat there again!
They always treat us so kind. We just Love Christin
Overall had a great time. Only complaint is I had made reservations a month in advance and asked for a table with river view and we were sat in the corner in back room right underneath speakers that was blasting 80’s dance music which I feel doesn’t match the ambiance.
Had heard about Saltys from so many people and so glad I finally got a chance to go! Saturday brunch with bottomless mimosas, and a great price! Will definitely be back again soon. Our waiter Justin was amazing!
Love brunch!! We try and make it to brunch at least a couple of times a year. Always such a great experience!
The food selection was amazing and all of it was actually really good quality. Not very often you find such a gem.
We were celebrating a special "anniversary" & had a wonderful evening at Salty's. Laura, the GM, came to visit us shortly after we were seated to welcome us & made us feel quite special. Our server, Ezra, took very good care of us throughout the evening. We had a great window table to provided a lovely view of the Columbia River as well as watching flights come in for a landing at PDX. My wife decided to start with the Dungeness Crab Cocktail & I decided to follow her lead -- I am SO glad I did ... it was fantastic! Tons of very fresh dungeness crab; simply delicious. For her entree my wife had the the Prawn Saltimbocca which she said was very, very good. She especially liked the Roasted Forest Mushroom Risotto that came with the dish. I had the Oregon Rockfish and Crab & it was delicious. I was delightly surprised at the size of the serving; very generous. Expertly prepared. We didn't care for the Tiramisu we had for dessert ... could be we were spoiled from having lived in Italy. Will try something else next time. All in all, a great evening with wonderful food and service.
Awesome Portland Dining Month experience. Food was
Pricey but worth it. Everything was perfect from drinks to dessert. Excellent service.
Our family got together at Salty’s for my father’s 91st birthday. The food and ambiance were top-notch, and our server went out of her way to make it a wonderful evening for us. Thank you!
We came here to celebrate a birthday. I made the reservation through Open Table. I requested a nice table so we could watch the sunset and although most tables in the dining area face the river (which was a nice thing to discover) the table they had ready for us was in a great spot.
Theodore was our server and couldn't have done a better job. Excellent. We were really impressed and with every detail he was there to help explain or recommend. I sincerely wish more Theodores were in other restaurants we visit!
The food was delicious - the harissa toast with clams and mussels will be something we'll try to recreate at home. I don't even really like clams but the harissa and tomato and onion sauce could have been all I ate and I would have been happy. I loved the smoked steelhead. The birthday cake was light and airy, perfect after a big dinner and the surprise champagne was the perfect ending.
Brought relatives from out of town for a special occasion. We all loved the view of the river, as well as the food which was excellent. Our server also anticipated everything we needed. Had a wonderful time!
Everything was lovely - food, service and atmosphere!
My wife and I went for my Birthday dinner, and we both had the whole lobster entrée, and a bottle of Chardonnay. The lobster was very well prepared, and the side potatoes and vegetables were a nice touch. The Chardonnay paired well with the lobster. We were fortunate to have an upstairs table against the window...the water and sunset views were amazing!
Amazing service! Food was amazing, we had their Portland dining menu and wow, for $49 you get 3 course dinner with wine pairing. It was really good.
Dinner with the family! Great service and great drinks.
Lobster was way under cooked, for the price very disappointed.
Outstanding food offerings for brunch. Our server, Ezra, was great. Noise level inside was high. Luckily, it was a gorgeous day so we ate out on the deck and enjoyed the view.
Brunch was great, best we have ever had. Seafood is excellent. The wait staff is very attentive. The view is something else.
Excellent service, excellent food. No sales tax in Portland! Highly recommended.
Myself and my girlfriends children and spouses attended the Saturday Brunch. I had been to the Salty's off Alki in Seattle years ago and we received the same outstanding service and food that the restaurant chain is known for. The variety of food and quality were second to none and the staff was very professional and attentive. It was an outstanding brunch and I will be back in the future.
We made a last minute reservation through Open Table. We were pleasantly surprised to get a windowside table near the Mel Brown jazz trio. We opted for the Portland Dining Month three course meal. The food was excellent and a good value. There was a substantial wait between the first and second course but the manager came to our table and offered us free seafood chowder while we waited. Ezra, our server, was friendly, attentive, and quick to perceive when we needed anything. We have eaten at Salty's many times over the last 20 years and have never been disappointed.
We came to celebrate a birthday and asked for a window seat. We got the window, complete with beautiful views of the river. The food was very good and service great. We will be back!
Excellent service. Relaxing and romantic setting
Classic style cooking
Overall, salty’s is fantastic great service, great food and superb atmosphere
Very good restaurant and service was very friendly. Very attentive server.
Food was excellent. View was very pretty over the water. Highly recommend.
The evening was just fine until a young lady started screaming and yelling at her group members and other guest. I felt management should have stepped in and had her removed.
I enjoyed the nice fresh smoked salmon ... thank you and well done
My wife and I were fortunate to experience a Portland Dining Month meal on Wednesday, March 7th at Salty's on the Columbia. It's always a really nice night out as the restaurant is very comfortable, with a sophisticated, but definitely not stuffy, ambiance and the views over the river are stunning. Once shown to our table, Ezra, once again, took care of us in amazing fashion with his wonderful demeanor and fantastic service. Always at our table exactly at the right time, never rushed, with time to exchange pleasantries to make us feel comfortable and part of the Salty's 'family'. And then the meal. All I can say is WOW! Stunning might be more like it. The Arroncini were really a nice starter with the Arugala Pesto and side salad adding a perfect peppery kick. Then the Seafood Lasagna. It was a perfect dish that needs to go on their 'regular' menu. (and on their wonderful Recipe Page that is part of their website). The creamy blend of the Bechamel and Pomadoro sauces and cheeses together with the perfectly cooked noodles, Scallops and Shrimp were perfect and service in the cast iron pan was 'cute'. After almost every bite, my wife and I looked at each other and just said, 'WOW". Ezra just laughed when he picked up our plates and warned us to be ready for what was to come. That huge and smooth salted caramel 'thing' with the praline chocolate 'cracker'..............amazing. A perfect finish to a meal that you didn't want to end. If you have the opportunity to experience Salty's Portland Dining Month meal prior to the end of the month, I wouldn't hesitate.
We’ve enjoyed Salty’s in the past and may try it again, but will not recommend the Portland Dining month menu. The seafood lasagna was all cheese with very little seafood. It was like leftovers reheated & not even hot.
I know the food is usually much better, so I would find anything other than that for bringing new people to your restaurant.
Very crowded tight dining room upstairs. Very noisy. Waiters were extremely busy. Food was good but it had no atmosphere.
Thank you once again for an awesome dining experience! We have eaten there a few times and always enjoy it. I made reservations about a month prior to request a window table with a view for my cousin's 40th birthday. We had a great table..great service and my cousin was all smiles the entire time! This was her 1st time actually having a champagne brunch and she was very impressed! This is one of our favorite places to stop when returning home on a flight at PDX ...before driving home to Eugene. See you again soon! :)
Our experience was excellent in this very busy restaurant. Had an early morning flight so staying at an airport hotel looking for seafood. Our waiter, while new, was just wonderful and Jesse an asst manager couldn’t have been more helpful. Jesse helped us with a wine selelection that complimented our food. Ordered a chef special that combined fresh scallops with pork belly skewered and smoked. Simply wonderful and creative. And don’t miss the fried artichokes. Theses are what I’d call Jerusalem artichokes with the stem. Masterfully prepared. The salmon was also cooked to perfection. If I’m near the airport in Portland would definitely go back! Make a reservation. Walk ins wait an hour.
