Salty's on the Columbia
We went to Salty's for Crabby Monday, so the value was excellent. The wait staff are unobtrusive, yet attentive. It's a beautiful location and worth a little extra drive.
We were there for crappy Monday and it was fantastic
My wife and I visited Salty’s for a Valentine’s Day treat, a couple days late because we were excited about the prime rib special. Seemed clear that the food had been plated well in advance of and reheated before serving. The food was lukewarm and the plate was hot. Meat was dry and the vegetables were shriveled (broccoli) and mashed potatoes congealed. I have to admit it bummed us out. I would encourage folks to go there for reasons other than the prime rib, especially if a special is being offered.
The day was sunny and nice. We had a window seat and were able to view the river. The prime rib was wonderful. The service was better.
Food, great! It was a beautiful day at salty buffet style on the weekends.
We had an incredible time! Our waitress was amazing.
We have been to salty's on several occasions and all ways had a wonderful experience
Everything I tried was very good. They had an excellent selection and plenty of everything! None of the items were empty or low at all. I tried the prime rib, prawns, crab legs, bacon and steelhead. All were very good! And I loved the chocolate fountain, yummm
A delightful spot to celebrate a birthday - lots of people moving about makes the environment a bit hectic. Excellent service.
All was great
Amazing dinner, great service and beautiful restaurant!
I would come every weekend if I could. What a wonderful treat! The food was so delicious. Best seafood I have had and same with the service. Ezra was our waiter and I’ve never had a more outstanding experience. Thank you!
A group of friend went for brunch and it was delicious as always!!
I really had a high expectation for the service and quality of food. The food was okay. I loved the shrimp and grits and the crab. The oysters were not fresh tasting. They were very fishy. The rest of the options were okay but not worth $51 per person. The service really disappointed me. Our waiter left a very dirty spoon in my place. It had a lot of red food stuck to it. And my wife and I ordered a mimosa each but he brought one and it was just champagne. Maybe I'm being picky but I think for $51 a person, the service needs to be on point and the food should all be at least edible.
No more bottomless mimosas.
Service was fantastic. It was our first time there and this was the first time we have been well taken care of at a restaurant. The seafood made it worth the amount we paid. The rest of the food was decent. Definitely a nice place to bring family, celebrate special occasions, or to treat yourself. Parking can be hard to find since they are so busy, so come a little earlier than the reservation time to find a spot. They also have valet parking if need be.
Excellent location, food and atmosphere! We were so happy with our overall dining experience at Salty’s on the Columbia River. The made to order crepe station is one of our favorite parts of the brunch buffet! The selection of food choices is wonderful and delicious! Very unique and special! Highly recommend!
Celebrating Valentine's with my husband
Both my husband and I agree, this was the best meal we’d had a long time. Lovely view of the river, attentive and friendly server and outstanding food. What’s not to love?
Thank you, we had a wonderful Valentines Day meal at Saltys. My husband loved the steelhead dish with brussel sprouts. We will definitely be back.
First time at Salty’s and had a great experience! The staff was very friendly and courteous. The restaurant wasn’t overcrowded considering it was Valentine’s Day. There was a special menu for the night and the food was delicious. We were sad to find out that they ran out of the Baked Alaska so we’ll have to come back another time to try it. There was also free valet parking with heat lamps at the entrance while you wait.
Our server Josh was fantastic and the food was fabulous! Can't wait to go again!
I know it was Valentines Day but charging $60 for a New York that was the perfect temperature but so chewy it gave me a headache trying to chew it. Also, cramming extra tables in the room took all the ambiance out of the occasion. Salty’s you are better than this!
Our service was outstanding! Great Valentine's dinner and having Mel Brown there to perform live was an added treat.
Our experience at saltys was fantastic. The server was attentive and friendly, the food was incredible, and we had a wonderful time. The only thing I would comment is that they brought in a live 3 piece jazz ensemble and it would have been nice to be given a choice if we wanted to be seated by the music or not... it didn't bother us though.
We had a lovely evening, and we'll definitely return to saltys soon!
Should not have to pay additional for bread. The bread was weak. If going to stick with the French bread, may want to warm it up. And it should come complementary with the meal.
Nice place. I felt the tables were a little too close together. I could hear neighbor's conversations. I really liked the live jazz music. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and nice portions.
1st time at saltees and it was great. Will be back again.
The menu was streamlined to accommodate for Valentine's Day however there were still ample choices. We had mussel appetizer which was generous and excellent. I had the scallop and shrimp chili entree which was delicious. Our son had the shrimp linguine which he said was excellent. My husband had the NZ King Salmon, also an excellent choice. Our waiter Treve was attentive, super helpful and very friendly. His descriptions of the menu items contributed tremendously to helping us identify entree choices. We will definitely be going back there next time we are in Portland.
Nice service and ambiance; but menu way overpriced and limited.
Great tasting food.
We went to Salty’s Redondo Beach many times 8 years ago. We live in Canada. Read your emails ever since. Happened to be in Portland and happy to find you there.
Our food was cold. The same dish on the daily/regular menu was $48 and on the valentines menu was $60.
Wonderful quiet afternoon for Valentines terrific service!
Always the best. Great service. Such nice views of the Columbia river. Just love it here.
My wife and I went, the night before Vanlentines, to beat the crowd. We had an excellent time. The atmosphere was great, the staff was Awesome (thank you Christian), and the food was amazing. My wife said it was the best dinner that she has ever had. I highly recommend Salty's. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Thank you.
We had the oyster hump day special the clam chowder was amazing but the oysters were very huge lol , maybe I’m not an oyster gal after all but I had to cut them in half to eat them but other than that perfect service !!!
Food and atmosphere was very good.
Bri the server was great, we really enjoyed our evening
Salty's, without a doubt, is the "BEST" weekend brunch in the greater Portland area.
The food selection is second to none and the employees are always smiling and willing to make the dining experience unforgettable. I partake in brunches and dinners at least 6-7 times a year.
I take my parents there for Mother's and Father's day brunch and in addition to birthday dinners.
The restaurant and bar ambience, coupled with a view of the Columbia River and close proximity to the PDX, have yet to be duplicated elsewhere!
