New restaurant, few weeks in. The service was the best part, everyone goes out of their way to make sure you are taken care of . Beautiful handcrafted drinks. The food however lacked flavor, particularly my sea bass dish. I’m sure they’ll get it right as they continue.

This newcomer to the 5th Avenue restaurant scene certainly demonstrates its pedigree as the latest offering from the San Diego Dining Group. The nautical theme is catchy, but it's the fresh caught fish displayed beautifully on ice that rule. The thing about fish is not to overdo it and the team at Saltwater understand how to accentuate the fresh flavor of the daily catch. Saltwater also prepares tasty starters, great for sharing, and presents a notable wine menu. The service was attentive and the beignets for dessert were the bomb. We're from out of town and we hope that when we return to San Diego and Saltwater we can still get in.

New to Downtown San Diego, Saltwater has an interesting menu, food that is right up there with Oceanair, Salley's, and Searsucker. The atmosphere was enjoyable. The port holes were a whimsical tough. The waitstaff did a good job of meeting our needs. They honored our reservation with no wait time. We would definitely go back again.

Hottest place in downtown, place is amazing. Service is top notch. Food is incredible, definitely try crab cakes, oyster gratin and short rib gnocchi. We had a whole fish from their beautiful display. Will return soon
