    Whenever we come to Norfolk, I always make certain that I dine at least one dinner at Saltines! My favorite entree is the fried Snapper!

    why was the fish only served over what they called Kale and some variety of brocolli and cauliflower?? the vegetables were undercooked and not flavored, and there was no ability to order spinach, or other vegetables as sides. the choices were VERY limited and overpriced. service was good but there were so few people there. a $300 meal and NO VALIDATION FOR PARKING!!! skip dining there in the future. disappointing dinner.

    Nikkia was outstanding. Kaylin, the manager came by to check on us several times. Great experience overall.

    Dined at Saltines to celebrate a birthday and anniversary combo. We were seated at a table that was crammed next to our servers young son and wife and another couple to our right. Our server was more concerned with his wife and son than appropriately introducing himself to us. We’re pretty sure their bill was free by the conversation we overheard. Maybe we should’ve gotten the same for our experience?! He never introduced himself and blurted out “what type of water do you want? Tap, bottled or sparkling?” That was how we were greeted. We are used to fine dining and this was NOT IT! We were never acknowledged of our special evening even once and after being crammed into the smallest table ever, we left there vowing NEVER to return again and spend our dining dollars elsewhere. It’s a shame.

    Our dining experience overall was excellent, as always. The staff were courteous, prompt, and knowledgeable. Our food was superb! Our only negative was that we were lead through the very crowded, noisy, and tight bar area to get to the dining area. We understand this situation was due to construction. We'll be back!

    We had a lovely Easter brunch today! Everyone loved their food which ranged from quiche to hot brown to French toast to a burger. We were warmly greeted and the great service continued to the end of the meal. We will be back!

    We do go here a lot. Love the lobster roll and the best clam chowder ! Sam is an absolute awesome waiter . My husband loves the very large omelette but please stop putting all that terrible seasoning on the potatoes He leaves them all the time terrible!

    Saltine was one of my favorite restaurants until recently. Quality of the food preparations have gone down. Watery she crab soup and changes in the scotash has been most disappointing so I stick with fried shrimp and raw oysters, SMH

    Overall we enjoy the food and wine , if I may the down side to be honest as returning customer and stay at the hotel before I ask for the possibility to connected to internet and I was turndown as I know in any hotel for guest can be easily accommodating. Said no to guest for such small request is not what we are expected .
