Wow just wow! Was looking forward to brunch for over a week for our Anniversary, after I made reservations on open table. We love Salt on Mass. We arrived and were seated and handed a small one sided half page menu. Not at all the menu I was expecting. I posted a picture. Seems they have changed the menu but didn't change the web page or make any effort to inform people it was a limited menu. I apologized to the server he also apologized and said communication was extremely lacking , and we left. Very very rare we ever leave a restaurant. Very disappointing start to our day. First and last attempt to eat here. It was nice inside. We ended up at Lincoln Square. Where they know how to do brunch.

We have been to Salt Geist many times for dinner and a few times for brunch and were very pleased. I made a reservation for Fathers day brunch. The restaurant was not crowded when we arrived and we were seated right away. Took a few minutes for our waiter to come to our table. The had a "special" limited menu for Fathers day - we all were going to order the "Special" and we were told they were out of it. As I said it was a limited menu so not many options but we found something. We waited almost an hour for our food which seemed like a very long time since it was not crowded. The food was fine but overall the experience was disappointing. I don't usually write reviews but I am writing this because we really like Salt-Geist and want the restaurant to make it. We will give it another try and hopefully things will improve.

Limited menu was awful. Biscuits and gravy were eh. Biscuits were hockey pucks. Really disappointed.

I hope we caught the restaurant on an off day. Although making a reservation for our family of four and despite the restaurant having many tables available, we were sat in the bar. The waitress was tending bar and serving us which seemed a lot for her. When the food arrived my meal was not what I ordered. It seemed to perplex the waitress so she enlisted a colleague to assist her. Ultimately by the time they offered to bring me what I ordered my family was close to completing their meals so I decided not to eat.

We loved original salt brunch a year ago and went every weekend. New chef took over the brunch recently. We had a standard expectation. Food was tragic. Cold. Poorly done. Bad flavors just covered with sauce and greens. Waitress was indifferent. We didn’t complain but did let them know it was disappointing. Pancakes were burnt and thin and gummy. French toast was cold. Biscuits were still frozen in the middle and dry. We still paid the $150 bill even after we said we could t eat the chocolate cake dessert that was flat ( gluten free wasn’t mentioned on the menu) it had orange sorbet and grapefruit on it. To sum it up. Tragically horrible. So sad it’s not what it used to be. We will not be giving it a second chance for brunch again.

Bloody Mary is top notch. Omelette better than average. Biscuits and gravy basic. I liked the old sausage gravy recipe better. Will try something different next visit.
