Everything was fantastic. Our server was super nice, professional (I forgot her name). The food was great. We got the coconut tuna ceviche, oysters, cheese puffs as starter. The cheese puffs were a little dry. Not sure if it’s meant to be dry in the inside but it wasn’t terrible. The pickle is comes with were delicious though. For entree we got swordfish with side of potato puree. I loved it. The restaurant was very nice. No complaints.

So happy we dined at Salt + Ash. It’s now the reason we will return to Hawk’s Cay resort. Food and drinks were delicious! Service was superb. Welcoming for children and sophisticated adults. Prices were reasonable in comparison to other resort restaurants. Only regret is we didn’t dine here every night of our stay.

It was my first experience at the restaurant at Duck Key, since they removed Sixty One and Prime, and I could not be happier with my time there. The food was absolutely divine; the mushrooms….OMG!! Mouth watering! Omar and Zatari took care of us and their service was impeccable. I absolutely loved the theme of farm and sea to table. Chef Jeremy Ford has done an amazing job with his choices for the menu.
I will say, the due to the small presence of the restaurant, and with such a low profile and small bar, it was super loud. We started off with a great vibe, quaint, medium noise level, and then it quickly escalated. However, this did not deter from our experience. I absolutely loved it and would highly recommend.

This was one of the best dinners I’ve had in Florida. I will come to this resort just for the meal, salt and ash was an incredible experience, from the cocktails to the appetizers on to the main course all the way through. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We recently dined at Salt + Ash at Hawk's Cay while staying at the resort, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations; especially for the price!
The setting is lovely — outdoor views and a breezy island vibe — but the menu was surprisingly limited. For a resort of this size, we expected more variety, especially for dinner. The options leaned heavily toward the trendy and upscale, but there was nothing simple or classic, like a fried fish dish or even a straightforward seafood platter. If you're looking for something familiar or comforting, you’re out of luck.
The cocktails were another letdown. While they looked nice, they were overpoured and far too strong, to the point where they were barely enjoyable. It felt more like someone trying to impress rather than balance flavor.
Our server was friendly enough, but difficult to understand, which made asking questions about the menu more frustrating than helpful. We noticed this was common throughout the resort — many staff members are foreign hires, which is fine in itself, but some basic training in communication would go a long way. Service overall was just average — not rude, but definitely not the kind of polished, attentive experience you expect at a destination resort.
In short, Salt + Ash felt more like an experiment in fine dining than an accessible, guest-friendly restaurant. We left feeling disappointed — not because the food was bad, but because the whole experience lacked warmth, approachability, and balance, not to mention that the meal and drinks are overpriced for what you receive. With a little more menu variety, better bar consistency, and improved service training, this could be a much better spot. As it stands, we wouldn’t rush back.

The 16 oz cowboy steak was about an 8 oz half fat half meat way overcooked. I ordered medium rare it was gray all the way through, for $105.
