We arrived for an early dinner at 5pm. Hostess seated us at a “tiny” table, when there were multiple bigger “empty” tables available. Asked to move to bigger table, but she said NO! Told her we would be out the door within the hour, so the bigger tables would be available for larger parties arriving after 6pm. She still said NO! We ate our dinner at the “tiny” table in an empty restaurant, with only two other parties present. One at another “tiny” table and another at a table for four. When we finished our dinner & wine there were still five bigger tables that were unoccupied and the restaurant was still mostly empty. Due to this, we won’t be returning here. There are numerous other restaurants in Laguna Beach that understand how to build a customer base!

Wonderful birthday and Mother’s Day dinner. Seated promptly for our reservation and the restaurant was quite busy. Larissa was our server and she was fantastic. We enjoyed the calamari and heirloom tomato salad. Shared a porcini papardelle and the halibut special. Both dishes were yummy. Dessert was tiramisu and ice cream. Highly recommend this little gem of a place.

The food was fantastic, but the restaurant is clearly understaffed. We ordered the carpaccio, salmon pasta, linguine and clams, and the lamb papardelle. Every dish was flavorful, well-cooked, and tasty. The contrast between the dishes was great. The service was not very good. It took several requests to get our water and it was at least 15 minutes before anyone came to take drink or food orders. We had asked for carpaccio for our appetizer, but it came with the main course. Finally, it is definitely loud in the restaurant. We liked the energy, but it may not be for everybody.

We love Salerno’s - a local gem. Our server, Larissa (as she always is) was attentive to our need to get to the theatre. And, the food is amazing! At the same time, she let us take our time. We actually enjoyed our meal twice - left overs from our doggy bags the next night.

Every menu item our party ordered was cooked and tasted yummy. The blend of flavors was harmonious and delicious. We had the eggplant parmesan, caesar salad with salmon cooked to perfection, and the balance of our party had various pasta dishes with all of them receiving raving reviews. I highly recommend this restaurant for the vast menu selections, presentation, taste and service.

We visit Laguna/Newport every winter for a few weeks. This is our favorite spot! Love the sidewalk seating. Fabulous pasta (especially with the lamb ragu) and cioppino. Outstanding, professional service.

We booked a table for 2 for NYE dinner. At first, they could not accommodate us, but the hostess and a couple of men moved tables around. I appreciated their effort to resolve the issue. Daniel was our food server and is always very pleasant. We enjoyed a bottle of champagne, Caesar salad with their yummy bread and pesto oil. The entrees of clam linguini and chicken Parmesan were excellent. My clams were delicious and plentiful. We finished with a gourmet cheesecake, and plan to return many times to this little jewel of a restaurant in Laguna Beach!

Made a reservation for 2 three weeks prior to going to the restaurant. My assumption was I was making a reservation for a table for 2. We were told that the only seating available was at the bar or at at a 5 inch window rail. There were 3 tables for 4 that were empty and approximately we couldn't sit with another couple at the table for 4 because they were being held. After about 45 minutes the tables for 4 were broken down to tables for 2. Apparently we were the first of 6 couples that came to the restaurant after 7:30 and were never asked to move to a table for 2. The manager told us that we should have asked the hostess to be seated at one of the tables for 2. I had asked for that but apparently the hostess was more interested in leaving and ignoring customers who had asked for consideration of being put at a table. If anyone wants a restaurant that ignores customers this may be your best opportunity to find out how one may be treated.

Always superb dining experience.. it encompasses the entire alphabet from A- Z Ambience - Italy with upscale charm and a close energetic environment as if you were dining in a Tuscany Italian restaurant. Wine Choice for the evening Michael David petite Syrah (yummy) and perfect pairing for the evening. Appetizer - blown away by the butter squash Sage Ravioli. All 4 of us were smiling right down to using the bread to scoop up the Sage sauce. This is a sweet and unexpected taste starter unlike any appetizer we ever had. Compliments to Chef Pirozzi. Salad - my lady (birthday) and I shared a Caprese salad. Bufalo mozzarella, ripe small tomato., arugala. … really nice and ate every scrap as the dressing was perfectly executed. Entree - Birthday girl had the new Pasta Carbonara. loved it. I had the new PORCINI PAPPARDELLE NEW Homemade pappardelle pasta, mild spicy italian sausage made in house, mushroom sauce, truffle infused oil,parmigiano. Our friends had Branzino which he ordered every visit … he is stuck on it and I understand. She had pappardella Lamb she also stuck on it and they love our Chef. Dessert cheese cake but not cake! Yummy and a chocolate cake yummy too. Both finished well with our chosen wine.
