Permanently Closed - With a traditional Lebanese menu, a modern down-to-earth dining room and a glamorous north London clientele, Sahara restaurant on St John's Wood High Street is a hit with yummy mummies, low-key celebs and local ladies who lunch. The Lords cricket crowd has been known to pack Sahara out before and after matches, too. In summer, it’s a pleasure to sample Sahara’s authentic Lebanese offerings from the al fresco tables. Inside, Sahara’s Middle Eastern décor, with Persian rugs and whitewashed walls, will transport you from a posh part of London to a posh part of the Mediterranean. Sahara’s staff are friendly and helpful. Lebanese signature dishes include the kibbeh saynieh which is minced lamb mixed with spices and cracked wheat with pine nuts, onion and a yoghurt and cucumber salad; the deep-fried sea bass drizzled in tahine sauce; and the shish taouk, which is marinated cubes of chicken served with garlic sauce.

Sahara, St Johns Wood is a nice small simple restaurant which is good really. Food's great and the service is friendly. Some dishes especially starters seem a bit pricey but with the top-table 50% off offer, it's fantastic. Recommended for a chilled out dinner.

The food is good and the restauranti is in a nice area, I wouldn't go there for a special dinner but for a friendly dinner between friends is ok!

Sahara is in a nice part of St John's Wood High Street and the inviting smell of the food hits you as you walk in. The decor is nothing particularly interesting, and the service is fast, discreet (perhaps not warm), but satisfactory. The food is delicious. We had tabbouleh, grilled lamb and a minced lamb dish, and all were very satisfying. The complimentary baklava at the end of the meal was a very nice touch (although we were too full to eat it!). All in all, lovely meal in a decent restaurant

A lovely meal at Sahara, St John's Wood. Warm chicken liver and kibbeh starters, roast lamb with rice and mixed grill were all delicious and great value with TT offer, accompanied by velvety Lebanese wine. Olives/ salad as appetisers and tiny baklava offered with the bill made a nice touch. The decor is contemporary /Middle East fusion with comfortable seating and outside tables. A quick glance around at the plates of an eclectic mix of local diners had us already planning our next visit.

WE had a slight misunderstanding over what the 50% offer covered for the food however we sorted it out in the nd and the food was very good

Sahara Restaurant on St John's Wood is a petite Lebanes restaurant in a nice location. I made a request on booking for a cocktail to await my brother, but this was not done, despite calling in to indicate we are 10 minutes away. I needed the occasion to be special and it wasn't made so. The starter was very nice and tasty. The main meal was alot, however, bland for my taste. The waiter was very nice, despite the opposite vybe felt from his boss.

We had lunch at Sahara in London. The service was a bit slow, but friendly. The food was very fresh and well prepared. A lovely little neighbourhood place.

Good service. Food was great, but restricted choice for vegetarians in the Main Courses. Had to have Mezze only and there are NO discounts!
