Had a great lunch, the prawn tacos were amazing and the hamburger was as well. The service was great, the food was fresh and delicious, the energy is quite high but it was a little too noisy, that would be the only negative. We'll definitely go back!
Very enjoyable meal. Will come again!
Thank you so much for taking the time to offer your ratings and kind comments about your visit! Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
Attentive staff willing to answer food content questions to accommodate food allergies in our group. Excellent range of choices. Inventive dessert.
The food was great! White wine was warm :( Server was a bit off --
2 things make me give the restaurant 2 thumbs down, 1. I asked for cheese melted on my hashbrowns and eggs, to my surprise they used sliced cheese ..grosse, 2. Was I added sausage to my breakfast and was charged $9.00 holy crap!! Server was charming and attentive, food was average! Mamosa was delicious!!
The food was great! Went there for New Year’s Eve dinner. While waiting at the front it took the serves about 5 minutes to even come talk to us and it wasn’t that busy. Once we were seated the sever came and took our order. The food took VERY long to come out. There was about 45 minute wait between appies and dinner. Just don’t understand because the restaurant was not as busy as I’ve seen it in the past.
Food was decent but WAY over priced as SL is
Hi. I have eaten at this restaurant once before. I felt for the amount of people in the restaurant (practically empty) the food wasn’t awesomely prepared, to be specific prawn taco shells were hard/toasted and prawns were cold. I was excited to bring my son to Christmas Eve all day appy hour as I expected to see some new dishes on the menu, but was disappointed to find only 3 were available at appy hour pricing. Janet
Calamari was awful. It had 20% calamari 80%burned veggies.
We went for brunch for my husband’s birthday. We were asked if we wanted to order a drink but we decided to wait for our friends who hadn’t yet arrived. About 15 min after our friends got there, we had to flag a server down as no one had been back to the table since my husband & I had initially been seated. The restaurant was very quiet (It was 11:30 on a Sunday) and we felt ignored. I was a little embarrassed as we had raved about S&L to our friends and it didn’t start off on a great note. Thankfully the food was great as always and the server was attentive after this. Just a bit of a bummer that we had to start off our experience like this.
Been going here since it opened never had a bad experience
Mac and cheese sticks are a must! I love S+L, I think this time was a little "off" as we were there at a peak time and waited quite awhile for our food, even our appetizers.
We have been 5 times and the restaurant is simply to noise to the point it has affected our experience to the point will likely not return.
Food is always great. Service not so much. Waited 16 minutes to be asked if we wanted a drink. Wish the service was as good as the food and ambiance, I’d go there much more often.
Good food and service but a bit on the pricey side. The noise level was high as we where seated beside a large group of good timers. I asked to be moved and was accompanied without any issues. We will return.
It's a very ordinary place with overpriced and mediocre food with high prices. Lunch for two, one 6 oz glass of wine each, one entrée each with tip, over $85. When I mean lunch I mean some greens and a bit of chicken in it. Super noisy. Would not go back. Over-rated like so many places these days. Sorry.

Our food took about 40 min, was cold. Nice place. Not so good service
It was supposed to be a special occasion ( birthday to be exact), I even put it on my reservation, but none of the server or host bother asking. Totally a not good experience compared to The Keg. Very poor first experience:(
Please feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any feedback about your experience as we would love to be able to follow up accordingly. Thank you again,
Fabulous as always
Thank you so much for your very kind comments! We look forward to seeing you back again soon.
Great service and amazing food! Thanks for a great evening!
The server was very nice but the food took a long time to come out and was disappointing when it arrived. It was Sunday brunch and we all had the lobster prawn Benedict. Menu says lobster & prawn patty but lobster & prawn pellet would be more accurate. Tiny disc of seafood on a dry muffin with a poached egg and a bit of lackluster Hollandaise sauce. For $18. Add in tax & tip and... well, no one at our table felt the meal was worth the money or the wait.
The prices are way to high for the poor quality of the food. My chicken Caesar salad too much dressing and had a very hot taste and the chicken was overdone and dry.
The service too way to long and the server didn't come around much. It was very cold as the air was blowing on us.
Thank you for taking the time to share your rating and feedback. It definitely does not sound like you received the experience we expect for our guests. Please email us at email@example.com with your comments from your review so we can take the conversation from there and follow up accordingly.
Always Great And Never A Let Down, Job Well Done... :)
Great as always
Service was attentive and personable. Calamari was hard and crunchy. Tasted stale. Way more spider-like parts than the circles and the sauce smooshed onto the plate was dissapointing. My steak was good but my Wife's baby caesar salad was so over dressed that she couldn't eat it. It was removed from the bill with no arguement...but my Wife left hungry and dissapointed.
After making a reservation for 6:15 we ended up waiting for about 20 minutes to be seated. The booth we got was too small for all of us, although we finally requested to move to a larger table when one opened up. I requested a local beer, which was out-of-stock....it happens, so no biggie!! We then ordered our food, which took A LONG time to arrive. Our appetizer calamari was stone cold, so we complained and another order was prepared. The new order took a while to arrive and was "warmer" but not hot. Right on the heels of this, our entres arrived. Two of our party had steaks, one with lobster also. Food again, was stone cold. We complained again and food was taken away to be redone. Meanwhile the rest of our party continued to eat. By the time the new plate arrived, everyone else was finished, so ended up eating in two different "shifts"!!! Overall VERY disappointing, especially considering the prices charged.
I hate to write this review because S+L is my favorite restaurant however this visit left me very disappointed. We had a party of 5 including one toddler. This had to be at least my 10th visit in the last year as we try to go on every special occasion and then some. We ordered the Ling Cod, Lobster and Prawn Burger, Crispy Sushi Rice, Crispy Calamari, Pan Seared Scallops & Gnocchi, Crispy Local Brussels, Hero Wings and a side of fries. To our dismay, ONLY the Hero Wings and Fries came out hot. The flavor of the rest of the items was still there however eating a slightly warm meal when each of the times were at least $14 or more was extremely disappointing. We were all so hungry that despite not enjoying the meal, we continued to eat. It took forever for our server to come check on us after our food was brought to our table so by the time she came around again, we were half finished most of the plates. She informed her manager who provided us with a "staff discount" to all of our food items and also provide us with 2 $10 vouchers to use at brunch. In the history that we have been going here there have been 2 visits that were disappointing, this is the the third.
Always good food and good service. Found it to be a little noisy and echoey though.
Great unexpected surprise in Langley. I hadn’t heard about it before
Food was very good
We find the menu to be somewhat limited. The food is good but a little overpriced. The attention to detail by the staff needs work. I booked our reservation on-line and was asked if there was an occasion to which I indicated anniversary. So why is it there if your people are just going to ask again? We also thought the water on the table should not be room temperature. Don't get me wrong our waitress was both pleasant and helpful but the rest needs attention.
The appetizers were excellent but my friend who ordered a $42 fish dish did not get the side that was supposed to come with and did not realize until the end of the meal ... too late to let our server know. Her hubby got a tiny amount of dipping sauce for his beef dip and waited 10 min to get more after requesting. My hubby’s pasta dish was terrible and tasteless and garlic bread was not toasted. All 3 of their meals were not hot as noted by the manager, there was a backlog in the kitchen. My steak was cooked perfectly and sides were excellent. Very disappointing given the cost and that we we had all been looking forward to a nice evening out.
Although the food was very good the portions were small and expensive.
Always a great time at S&L - service was a bit less engaging then usual, but overall a very pleasant experience.
My daughter has food allergies and knows she can get good food there. She is from Alberta so nice to know your menu as we have been before!
Service waned a bit and some of the servers actions or lack thereof was, I thought of a restaurant with that stature, a little unbecoming. Food itself was fantastic
Great location, good food. However, our group (11 ppl) had to wait almost an hour to receive our food from when the orders were placed - a bit too long for a work day lunch!
We were stuck in a bad table just inside the door and outside the bathroom. It was terrible it doesn’t even feel like you get into the building it’s like being stuck in the waiting room. Our first waiter was not good at all. Kept ingnoring us. He was replaced by a much nicer more attentive young girl. She made up for his rude attitude
The gnocchi for the harvest chicken was basically mush and gluey. Not how you’d make a traditional gnocchi. The onions were completely burnt in the sauté as well.
Good food, pricey for the portion size though. Good service
