Ryan's Chef creates a tantalizing selection of appetizers such as jumbo lump crabmeat, steamed mussels in garlic butter and white wine, and oysters Rockefeller. Entrees range from thick, juicy steaks and prime rib to the finest grilled fresh fish and live Maine lobster. Choose from the menu or a superb selection of specials offered nightly. Add a cappuccino and a freshly made dessert to seal the dining experience.
The restaurant has been locally owned and under the same management since 1981. Ryan's has been awarded the Wine Spectator's "Award of Excellence" and is often featured in national publications. Recently awarded the DiRoNa Award for Distinctive Fine Dining
I had an excellent server who was knowledgeable about both food and wine. The restaurant was only moderately busy on a week night so he had a little time to chat with the diners. I ordered the caprese salad, an entree of seared scallops with asparagus and cous cous, a side dish of scalloped potatoes, and as dessert, vanilla bean ice cream in a pecan caramel shell with chocolate sauce. All the food was very good. I was also tempted by the grouper and Chilean sea bass on the menu and the night's special of halibut. I had a glass of a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc with the salad and scallops and a pour of Sandeman 20-year Tawny Port with the dessert. When I arrived a little after 7:00 PM it was dusk but you could still see the trees that give the restaurant a woodsy setting. The interior echoes that feeling with a vaulted ceiling and wood beams and attractive lighting fixtures. This was perhaps my fourth visit to Ryan's (as an out-of-towner) and I have always had a good meal here.
Another anniversary dinner celebrated at Ryan's !
Love this place. Will return again and again. !
Really awesome food. Had a wonderful evening. Great atmosphere
Our evening met our every request that was asked for in the reservation. 100% satisfaction.
Thanks very much to Ryan's and staff!
All the best!
Excellent as always! Our 45th anniversity and they made it perfect.
In one word it was AWESOME! I’ve heard business partners mention the restaurant but I never had the time to visit. Well, I am glad I visited. It was well worth my time.
Always a fantastic place. Dennis and Jeff run a top notch restaurant. Dean was our fantastic server...and we will ask for him again.
Top-notch service. We had a lovely experience, we will likely go again.
Service was very attentive. Food was excellent especially the Brisket Brushetta and the Rib Eye special that was recommended.
Our entire service was excellent. The grouper was amazing as well as the steaks. Portions were nicely sized. Quite reasonably priced for the quality of food.
The shrimp and grits was so tasteful.
Food was good and service was excellent. Too pricey overall.
Always love Ryan's. We had friends in town and had to let them experience the amazing food and atmosphere. It did not disappoint!
We had a great experience! My note in the reservation for a window view was granted with the perfect location. A beautiful view of the crosswalk bridge all lit up! And the service was fantastic!
Ryan's provided excellent service and a great date atmosphere. We shared the brie appetizer, which I would highly recommend if you're a brie fan. My wife ordered the duck and I had the brisket. I stole a few bites of the duck, and it was probably the best duck I've ever had. The brisket was good, but not as amazing as the duck. It wasn't a cheap dinner, but overall I felt like we got our money's worth, and we'll certainly be going again.
Wanted a special place for Birthday celebration and Ryan's over delivered! Had a window seat to enjoy the magical setting. Our waiter was top notch always appearing at the right moment. The food was amazing with a special call out to the halibut. And if you like pecan pie, you gotta order it. With ice cream! Just one minor issue was that the AC made it artic-like.
Wonderful experience all the way around!
Awesome food! Great service. Pretzel rolls and cheese spread are the best!
This was our first time at Ryan's and we left totally satisfied. Very nice inside and the wait staff was excellent. The menu was broad and the meal we ordered was outstanding; highly recommend the prime rib and salmon. The scallopped potatoes were awesome. I would recommend reservations on the weekend. We can’t wait to return!!!!
We always enjoy Ryans, although only for special occasions. The food is consistently good, and although a little pricey, it's still a great restaurant. The service is outstanding, and it is truly one of the best restaurants in Winston-Salem.
We have been coming to Ryan's for many years and we have seen many good restaurants come and go
in Winston-Salem. But Ryan's has always been the place to go, if you wanted good food, good sevice, and a pleasant relaxing environment. There is no restaurant in Winston-Salem that even comes close to Ryan's. It was our 54 Anniversary and we had a great time at Ryan's- very special!
Outstanding as always!
Wonderful service and food as always. You can count on it!
This was a great find. Awesome filet. Unique atmosphere with forest views
Fantastic! Great service!
Ryans is a special place for way above average dining. Very romantic if that’s what you are seeking. Very distinguished for important meeting lunches and dinners, and exceptional service.
Food, especially the steaks, are top-notch!
Terrific service, food, atmosphere.
Everything I was told to expect and more! I will be back.
It was our anniversary. Tremendous food and service by Victoria was outstanding
We celebrated our anniversary and were treated wonderfully. We were offered champagne or cake. We he cake was delicious. Yes we had a wonderful dining experience here.
My party of three had a fine dinner. Nice table. Nice view. Server was pleasant and speedy. For me the shrimp cocktail was excellent. French onion soup was excellent. Prime Rib was excellent. Baked potato was less than perfect. The collard greens have been over rated and I would drop them from menu. The pecan pie was not to my liking. I'll keep my menu thank you. Espresso coffee was nice.
I could change my dinner menu slightly and easily rate Ryan's with five stars. I enjoyed the evening very much and do plan to return again.
Best steak we’ve ever had . Went to celebrate a special birthday. It was our first trip. It was one of the best steak places we’ve ever ate at.
From the street, you can’t really see the restaurant, but as you walk up you can tell that it’s going to have a great ambiance. Our wait time was minimal, food was delicious, and service was genuine and courteous. Most of the tables have a beautiful garden view and you feel like you are dining in the forest. Love this place! Definitely recommend!
Outstanding food quality. We always enjoy Ryan’s for special occasions with family and friends, as well as dinners just for two.
Excellent food as usual and our server Chase was superb! Prime rib on the weekend only and is well worth it.
This restaurant has been around for a long time. Have maintained excellent food, service and ambience. Highly recommend
Absolutely wonderful ambience and meal. The server, James, was one of the nicest most competent waiter we've ever had. The petite filet mignon was perfectly cooked.
This was our first visit. The food and service exceeded our expectations and our server, Pamela, was very helpful in guiding us through our selections. A wonderful meal was only somewhat affected by the level of noise which made conversation difficult.
It was my son’s birthday and we were in Winston for WFU Fan Fest. It was excellent food and service. Highly recommend Ryan’s!!
Service and food were great!! It is set back off road with a view overlooking a stream-very pretty! Would absolutely go again!
