Our young waiter, Alexander was outstanding. Hope to have him next visit .
We are Seniors that use to live inSherwood Forest & ate there frequently with the Herrings. Food & service remain the best in Winston-Salem.
We always enjoy going to Ryans for special occasions. The food and service is great and it’s a beautiful and warm settings in which to eat and enjoy conversation.
We had a wonderful evening. Our service and the meal were excellent.
I couldn't have had a better dinner. I request a back room beside the window and you guys delivered! The food was awesome and we had a wonderful time. We will be back REAL soon. He loved the place as much as I do. Our waitress was exceptional so please let her know that. Thank you very much Bridget Langley
Totally worth it. I can't wait to eat there again.
Some words that come to mind when trying to describe this place... excellent, absolutely amazing, delicious, perfect experience. They even took care of a last minute request for a more private table. I absolutely recommend this to anyone in Winston or the surrounding area.
Food, as always, was fabulous. However, the service was very marginal. That was unusual and disappointing.
Always excellent service and wonderful food - servers are good at recommendations, too. We always have a great meal at Ryan's!
Excellent service food and ambiance
The noise level was so bad that we could hardly hear each other but has no trouble hearing the man at the table behind us!
As always the food was outstanding and service was good...at times it was difficult for us to communicate with our waiter because of the noise
With a party of 7. Service very good. Always have a lovely time.
Birthday for one of our guests. The restaurant gave her a complimentary dessert.
Always a real treat. Best service in town. Top wine list in the area. Bravo!
The filets melt in your mouth and are cooked exactly the way you order them. The she-crab soup was delicious.
One of our favorite restaurants in Winston Salem! Food and service is top notch. We are never disappointed when we come. I highly recommend!
I went to this restaurant because of the good reviews but I was surprise with the bad service! I’m giving it three starts due to the excellent food, other than that is just a bad service restaurant!
The setting was pleasant and the food was quite enjoyable. Our server, James , made the birthday occasion special with his attentiveness and experience. I have already suggested to friends that they ask for his table when they come to Ryan's .
I was, however, bothered by a server at a nearby table sharing the details of her recent (first) visit to Cherokee (Casino)including money loss, plan/strategy for future visit etc. TMI & too loud
Wait staff disappeared for awhile, drinks were very slow arriving, otherwise great food, good wine list. Best scalloped potatoes in any restaurant I’ve been to
The location of our table was so romantic. The service was one of the best we've experienced in a long time.
The Sour apple martini was so good. Dinner was perfect. Dessert perfect for two.
We will definitely we be going back.
Great menu and nice wine list. Food is consistently excellent and service is good. Overall very enjoyable.
Great food, atmosphere, and service. It’s always a pleasure to dine at Ryan’s.
Excellent! I will be back. A great steak, one of the best places in Winston by far!
Great service - our server was very patient with my elderly indecisive mother. The food was excellent as usual - had the cold lobster tail, Waldorf salad, creamed spinach and scalloped potatoes. Bread was great as well!
Best restaurant in town. Food terrific and always consistently well cooked. Service very good. Great for special occasions but ok as a casual dinner too.
It was My husband's birthday everything was perfect
Wonderful atmosphere with amazing food! Will definitely visit again!!
Fantastic as always! A great place to have dinner with good food and a great atmosphere.
Wonderful experience..Food and service was impeccable! Will be returning for dinner again on Tues.
We all had a great time! Everything was terrific - the food, the wait staff, the atmosphere, the scenic view, the wine... everything. It's a bit pricey, but for us was well worth it. Some of the comments around our table: "Amazing!" "Delicious!" "WOW!" Will definitely return and highly recommend.
From start to finish dinner was amazing!! The wonderful service just added to the experience. We will be back!!
Too much noise but great food and service
My wife and I ate at Ryan’s for our anniversary, and it was a wonderful experience. The restaurant is situated so that you have a view of woods and a small creek which is very impressive considering it sits surrounded on three sides by buildings. Once you get inside, you feel more as if you’re at a nice home. There are wood floors and carpet with painting on the wall with several fire places. The service was excellent and the two servers where attentive and on top of the 4 or 5 tables in our little section. I really enjoyed the baked Bree appetizer we shared, my wife had the crab cakes and I had prime rib they where both quite good. I would definitely suggest Ryan’s for dinner.
Took my wife for her birthday and had an outstanding night. James was our server and we wanted for nothing. Thanks!
Awesome food and great service. The prime fillet of Oscar was one of the best I’ve ever had
Cold icy evening for my birthday dinner. We were in town to visit a couple wineries and the wife picked this spot for my dinner. From start to finish, Ryan’s has got it down to nearly perfect. Every course was perfect. Served timely and appropriate. The entrees were wonderful. Dessert and wine perfect. The seasonal berry dessert was a highlight of the dinner. Even the decaf coffee was very good. Our waiter, Matt, was wonderful and did a superb job with dinner. Excellent and we will go back when we are up that way again.
The steaks we had were wonderful & the service was excellent we will definitely come back soon
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here. We were seated in an area away from other patrons, which we liked. It seemed they do this for those celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Service was spot-on, but the food left much to be desired. The pita served with the dip was not toasted enough and they give you crackers. As many times we have ordered dips, we've never received crackers. This aspect made it seems less upscale. We would have been fine with just pitas. The dip itself contained large chunks of artichoke in it, which made it very hard to "dip". My wife ordered scallops, which were seasoned well, but a bit overdone. I had the shrimp and grits which was good, but drenched in sauce with very little grits. We both had salads, which were very good, but it IS a salad. I also ordered bourbon sweet potato mash which was very lackluster. The best part was they gave us premium champagne and chocolate cake on the house. Both of those were phenomenal. Our waitress also took our picture which was a huge plus for us. Overall, it was a great experience and you can't beat the ambiance for the area. However, for the price you would expect better food and a little more options. I think we may try somewhere else on our next anniversary and will not be making this an annual event.
