It’s our family favorite downtown restaurant . Very quaint , excellent tea, food is amazing . And the Russian music is great fun
One of the best values for high-tea. Generous portion of sweets. Nice relaxed atmosphere where you don't feel rushed.
Had a wonderful time. Everyone was awesome and the food was excellent. Queens tea is very fun
We had exceptional service, the food was delicious, and they were very accommodating of our four children. It is a pleasure to be able to go back as a family to the places we used to frequent as a couple. It also felt very safe.
The milky oolong tea was the best I’ve had outside of France. We ordered borscht, potato latkes, and stuffed eggplant. It was all delicious. The service was very good.
Girls’ Trip to Chicago
I have been there for tea and for lunch. It is a great place.
Visiting Chicago on a quick train stop, found the restaurant on Open Table, highly recommend it.
Been waiting to see the renovated inside and it was lovely to see it looking fresh and well-put together. Tea service was great as usual
If you want excellent food in a pretty environment, then Russian Tea Time is for you. And let's not forget the vodka flights--three one-ounce samplings from a choice of several. I had the Ukranian flight and had fun deciding which I liked best because all were good! I do think, however, eating a pickle after each sip is an acquired taste, one that I have not yet acquired. Service was excellent; Natalia explained the items I was not familiar with, and my choices were delicious. For a limited time, there is a $25 prix fixe menu, which is what I ordered from.
Finally, if you are a woman dining solo, you will be treated well. In summary, if you are not familiar with Russian Tea Time, give it a try. I think you will be glad you did.
Great little spot, was able to get a reservation for Saturday night. Food was very good, if you like Russian/Polish cuisine. Great regional wine selection, as well. And teas!
Great ambiance and service, and food was very good ... will definitely return to try more delicacies!
Such a great experience all around - perfect for before or after the Art Institute of Chicago. I had the regular tea service, which comes with your choice of tea, 2 scones, an assortment of mini sandwiches, and a plate of mini desserts. All delicious!
Very fun experience to combine great Eastern European/Russian food with full tea service. Wish more places did this! Will be coming back
I went with friends and we order the fixed meal for lunch. It was very good and I plan on returning to the restaurant.
Russian Tea Time was a very pleasant experience. It is a nicely designed restaurant, the staff are very nice, the food is different, and the tea is tasty. It was an enjoyable experience.
Anniversary. We loved it first time eating Russian food. It was delicious. Will be back
Mother’s Day tea. Thank you for such wonderful service and yummy tea!
We had dumplings and salads which were OK, nothing special. But the restaurant itself is wonderfully friendly and old-fashioned. A very nice place to drink cocktails: good service, friendly waiters, quiet and relaxed atmosphere.
Wonderful as always! The renovation is lovely and has brought a brightness to this hidden gem.
Very convenient to Art Institute. Quick service, but not rushed.
Always walked by back in the 70’s, hoped to come in but never got around to it. My memory of the place was grander than the actual experience. I enjoyed my visit and the food, as did my friend. I think covid was the reason why it was so empty. There was only one server and he was nice and polite. Since I was new and not familiar with the menu’s, it would’ve been nice if the server explained what my options were. A friend of mine told me about her experience at your establishment and her menu items were different. I had to ask for a different menu( and I’m glad that I did). The server should’ve offered it without me asking. The photos online of the interior were deceiving. It looked more opulent online. I’m glad that I finally visited because it took me 40 years to make a reservation.
Food could have been better, tea was good, different blends for sure!
Just needs more seasoning!
This is a classic restaurant and the food's taste, presentation, and price go accordingly to the place.
The service is fantastic! I would recommend it blindly.
We went for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant was nicely decorated and tables were spread out so no one was within 10 feet of you. We started with flavored vodka shots which were very good and different. We decided to order one of the family platters to try a variety of appetizers and main courses. Everything was tasty and we finished it all. At the end of the meal the waiter surprised us with a complimentary neopolitan cake for dessert and topped it off with another shot of flavored vodka. The overall experience was top shelve and we will return again to try other entrees.
Yummy Russian food
Nice Ethnic Restaurant. Waitress was awesome. Ambiance is nice. Highly recommend.
Impeccable service and wonderful and fun tea service
Great food and server was attentive, but he had his mask under his nose. Not cool when serving food during a pandemic!
Food was mediocre and service unfriendly.
Excellent food. The stuffed cabbage was the best I ever had!!
Extremely slow service, okay food, great desserts & tea
Had a good meal there after four hours in the Institute of Art. Good Russian food.
They were out of my favorite food there
