Food was great, exciting options for sure. Very loud though and even though I made a reservation we were put at a long table that made it difficult to talk to everyone around. Especially because of how loud it was around us. Still a great meal, and I imagine sitting in the booths would be pleasant.

With so many choices I spent time reviewing the menu before heading to the restaurant in order to plan my meal. Was disappointed that neither of my selections from their website menu were actually available on the menu at the restaurant. Was looking forward to trying the short rib pizza with blueberry compote. Nope. Also, wanted to try the keto carbonara pasta. Also nope. Luckily they had some new menu items that sounded equally interesting and turned out to be quite tasty and a great value. As always, save room for dessert. The choices are mind blowing.

Beautiful restaurant, superb food and service. Amazing variety of food catering to dietary restrictions. Highly recommend Ruggles Black for a delicious meal in an attractive restaurant.

This restaurant confirmed my reservation then were closed when we showed up. Several other tables arrived for reservations for the same reason. Very disappointing.

We had some folks visiting our business from out of the country, and made a reservation for May 12 at 7 pm to take them to dinner. The reservation was confirmed through the website and Open Table, but when we arrived the restaurant was closed. A sticky-note on the door told us that because the restaurant was open for Mothers' Day the day before, they decided not to be open that Monday. We were embarrassed and had to quickly find another restaurant at that late hour. We will never make a reservation at this restaurant again.

Today was not the best at Ruggles black. I’ve been there a handful of times and have very fond memories. I decided I wanted to go here for my Mother’s Day brunch. Unfortunately, they were not on their best day. To start I ordered a bloody Mary after about 10 minutes. Our server came and said they didn’t have any. I’m like you don’t have a bloody Mary on Mother’s Day? And she said no sorry. The restaurant was not full by any means. Ordering took forever, the food took way way too long. We were finished eating and we had to wait an seemingly amount of time to get our check. I had even asked two other waiters and the manager to get us to check that we are ready to go. When my family all got in the car, we said there’s too many restaurants in Houston for us to come back to this one.
