Rudi grew up on the west coast. They have tasted the fruits of far off lands. Scents, sounds, images and the energy of the World’s most magnificent cities. Cities with a history. A culture. With roots. With experience.

They bring this experience home with a sense of wonder and curiosity. Of longing and searching for their own identity. One they are committed to discover through craft and experimentation. To understand and discover their own identity. Their own version of their lineage.

The medium for this exploration is food. Not to replicate their great grandmother’s Rouladen, but to create something new, that would make her proud.

We had a wonderful birthday. Dinner service was very good. The staff were very friendly helpful. Didn’t matter who you were speaking to your concern or order or ire was addressed. They had made a small error at the beginning immediately corrected it and made concessions on the bill overall we were completely satisfied.

The young lady serving us at the bar was very professional and lovely. Food was very good. Cocktails were creative and tasty.

First time at Rudi’s and it was fantastic. Service was top notch and really enjoyed the variety of food. We ordered too much but our fav was the beef carpaccio and the butter lettuce. We felt spoiled going out to nice place for the first time in a while.

We were the first and only people inside for a while which was great! But the beach seats we were sat at were covered in crumbs which was kind of gross. The restaurant was cute tho, the waitress was so cool and super nice and accommodating! She was lovely so was the bartender! We had the steak and the focacia bread and tried the Greek cocktail and the wine fleet loved all of it. For a nice light snacky dinner for two it was perfect! We are dairy sensitive and they were able to accommodate us within reason which was very nice or them! Customizing the steak dish slightly by getting rid of the butter. Overall we had a really nice time! The crumbs just grossed me out because there was so many of them and we were the first ones there it felt like so felt weird that there would be so many already.

We loved the food and menu. Dishes seemed a good size for sharing. Service was top notch. I enjoyed my cocktail.

Never again. One of the “pintos” was a square of fat beef “sausage”, then there was a hunk of chorizo on a skewer that would have been much nicer grilled rather than raw. The Caccio and Pepe pasta was edible even though past “al dente”, as if precooked and reheated, overpriced at $26. The $36 “potato crusted” ling cod had no crust and no taste, (please salt bland fish a bit!), a mushy dish on a bed of cooked salad. Flavourless. Lack of proper culinary techniques. You wouldn’t be able to drag me there again if the dishes were free. Ashamed on behalf of my city. Please take a trip to Italy or France and see what food is supposed to taste, look like!

We loved everything about the restaurant. The service was wonderful,excellent food and delicious drinks! We will definitely be back many times to attempt to try all the amazing things on the menu!

This was a nice dining venue. It's family style - plates are meant to be shared and we like to dine this way. Beverages took a while to arrive (although we were only one of two tables in the room, but they were nicely prepared. First dishes took about 30 minutes to arrive (they are served as they prepared, in no particular order). We had some house cured meat and cheese - all delicious) We were offered fresh pepper for the fennel sausage pasta but then not again for any of the dishes that folllowed...although the only one that really needed it was the squash ravioli. We ordered the cabbage rolls but later were told they were "permanently off the menu". The cauliflower risotto, asparagus, ling cod, albacore tuna and pork w/ white beans were all superb. Unfortunately I think our server forgot the pork dish so it took about 75min to get to the table, long after we had finished everything else. Overall service was friendly but slow, food was really good and the ambiance was nice. The room is really warmed up from it's former incarnation with the cladding on the columns, window treatments, softer furnishing, murals and decals on the globe lighting. I would like to go back with my husband to share a few dishes and eat at the bar.

Second time here, service was again very attentive. Food was the real star, tried different items to last and once again great food.
