Rosie's Cafe at Nugget Casino Resort

We really enjoy the food at Rosie’s! They really need to staff up! Joseph seemed to be the only waiter on duty - he did a great job, but one guy just can’t handle it - and the restaurant is only half open. Food was excellent, but tables were grumbling at the wait. The Host was also advising a 45 minute wait for a table. We’ll always eat there, but patience is advised (and to check out, too).
Food and service is always on point, really like the friendly staff. Food is plentiful and tasty.
Very well prepared meals. Service is always excellent. Meals are served as ordered and served hot--they do not lay around after prep.
So easy to get reservations online. My favorite place to eat while at the Nugget. Not our first time eating at Rosie’s and won’t be our last. My entire Nugget Casino experience is manifested through Rosie’s. The place says a lot about the comfort and efficiency of staying at the Nugget.
The waiter seemed as if he had been a busboy earlier that morning. They have no wine list. What they have most likely came out of a box so it was less than mediocre. The waiter said they had red and white. I asked what kind and he said he didn't know but he heard that the red was really dry. I asked him to tell me what kind of white they had and after going to the kitchen he came back and identified it a Chardonnay. It was a very thin, bordering on tasteless chardonnay
The food was OK but everything was very salty and not enjoyable. They seem to be seriously understaffed as the waiter was gone for long periods of time and seemed to be managing too many tables.
Giving them 3 stars was charitable.
So glad we had OpenTable reservations! Up to an hour wait for folks behind us. Only half the restaurant is open - be great when Rosie's staffs up. Our lunch with Granddaughter and Friend was great - our waitress was attentive. From seating to food delivery was a little over 30 minutes. Usually better with more staff.
A Birthday breakfast for my Granddaughter. Food and service was great. Our Waitress heard us mention she was a Birthday Girl and surprised her with s special dessert and candle.
The Turkey Dinner was outstanding as usual. My Wife's Fettuccine Alfredo was not good - tomatoes, basil, and little parmesan (she opted out of added shrimp or chicken), NOT a classic Alfredo at all. The Manager said it was very popular when we complained - we were surprised. Rosie's really needs to staff up, too. Long waits for the few tables that were open.
As always, everything item selected is always served hot, fresh, and as ordered. Over the years, we have had about everything on the menu and have never been disappointed.
Plan on allowing almost an hour to get seated, get your order, and eat. I think they need more servers. Was seated about 7-8 minutes before order was taken. It took 20 minutes to get the food. Then the server never came with the check even though I asked her. I went and got in the cashier line. So my reservation was for 9 am. I got through with paying at about 9:55 am.
Every dining experience is an opportunity to make a day better or worse. Overall everything was good. It could have been better, but I have no real complaints. EXCEPT, they have a long line to pay the bill and leave. I don’t like waiting in line to pay the bill. They should have some way for people paying cash to leave the cash with the waiter OR a super fast cashier to take care of credit cards and charges to the room. It shouldn’t be hard. It detracts from a good meal to have a pain getting done and out the door.
We enjoyed it was very delicious the service was friendly and fast
Great to have a reservation and get right in on a busy night!
Even if you have a reservation, you still have to wait in line. Most people will leave after they find out they have a 45 minute wait. The line to pay the cashier is longer than the line to get in. It took me about 15 minutes in line to pay. They need to have 2 cashiers at peak times. It also takes the waiters a while to come take the order. More staff needs to be hired. If I didn't get free comps, I would not eat here.
Steak was inedible. It literally tasted like burnt cigarettes. I ordered medium rare. It was charred on the outside she cold/raw on the inside. Saw one of the cooks wipe his nose and mess with his hair and then put a plate up for the servers obviously without washing his hands. Server never refilled our drinks, never checked on us. Waited in a LONG line to pay the check. Been coming to the Nugget since the 60’s. Since John Ascuaga is gone, the place has gone downhill. We wont be back.
I would have given Rosie's a much better review if
1. It would have opened at the time advertised
2. The host had not been so rude to a person who asked why it was not opened on time.
3. It would be nice if someone smiled and made customers feel welcome. It seemed obvious no one wanted to work there.
Everything was going OK until one of the service people doused me completely in a large glass of water.
The table size was appalling for five people. Much too small. The management needs to review incoming reservations to make sure that they have sufficient seating.
The quality of the food has declined. Not enough help. Had a hour wait when part of the dining area wasn't in use.
We had a great experience a few weeks ago. It's like you cut help to make a extra dollar, but that ends up making you loose more in the end.
Entree choices a bit limited, but nice place overall.
My eggs that were served to me were tiny little crumbles. I returned it and got what I thought, was decent scrambled eggs this is what Inahould have received first time around.
Also, toast was not toasted. 2 pieces of mine look like they just came out of the bread bag. Barely and I mean Barely, toasted. Pretty bad.
My reservation was 9 am on a Sunday morning. There was no line to check in and we were seated quickly. For the first time I can remember, there wasn't a line to pay the cashier. That was great.
We ate several breakfasts at Rosie’s. Excellent presentation. Terrific taste. Friendly servers.
Even if you have reservations, you still have to wait in line. It wasn't as bad this time. But the line to pay is very long with one cashier. It took 10-12 minutes to pay. During peak times, another cashier should be helping. Sometimes the cashier is also the hostess seating people. Since the Nugget doesn't have very many places to eat, the service should be a lot better.
all was good, the waitress had a low voice, hard to hear what she was saying. Everything was great.
Good food at a decent price. Advise making a reservation and then gamble before eating.
Plan on taking an hour for your entire meal. We had reservations and waited in line 12 minutes before we got to the hostess. They do not ask for people with reservations to come to the front of the line. It took a while to get breakfast. Then we had to wait in line about 10 minutes to pay. We had a 9 am reservation. We got to the cashier at 9:57 am.
Breakfast is their best meal. I have been disappointed with lunch and dinner.
The servers are overworked and try their best. The cooks are not very good. Rosie's was a lot better before Covid.
Food was great! Ate there twice, one pancake and the All American breakfast, The wife had the Chile Verde breakfast burrito, coffee was a little weak for us but bearable. The following days lunch was great!!! The Ruben sandwich with Tots is one of the best I've had in a while hands down. Wifey had a Butter toasted BLT w/ Onion rings! Good to the last drop!!
Loved my Cobb Salad. My sister-in-lawas had prime rib and loved it!
Was told we. Had to have an appointment to get in. But when we showed up. They never asked. Nor asked anyone else if they had a appointment. So seemed pointless.
Good dinner tonight. Food was good. Service was okay.
It takes a while to get your order taken. I think there are not enough servers or cooks.
Breakfast was great! Just wish you could walk in and not have to make reservations...
Good breakfast this morning. I enjoyed the French toast and a side of bacon. Their bacon quality has room for improvement. They use a cheaper, thinner cut, that's not particularly flavorful. The French toast was good though. Service was friendly and attentive.
Wonderful service. Wasn't super thrilled we were told we needed a reservation (and they were almost full on reservations for 8:30), but when we got there the two guys in front of us had no reservation and got in just fine...
The waitress was wonderful, kind, and helpful. The food was ok.... the grilled cheese we ordered was cold and the cheese wasn't even melted (defeats the purpose of a grilled cheese!), small portions for the pricing!
Horrible service. Food average. Heavy smoke smell from casino.
I'm so happy you can make reservations. The people that didn't had to wait up to an
hour or more, as the restaurant was full. Beautiful service, seating right away with reservation. Would go again.
My girl and I were extremely disappointed. We asked for her steak to be medium and it came out not medium rare but rare! The chicken in my Alfredo was dry and hard.
I've eaten here many times and this is the first time we did not eat all of our food. If it were not covered under our points and comps I would have complained.
