Rosewater Grill & Tavern at Delta Downs
Everything was great, and we totally enjoyed our dinner with our hostess Anna!!!
For the price, we could have eaten at the buffet and left fully satisfied instead of wondering what we were going to eat in an hour.
The service was slow. Not enough waiters. We sat for thirty minutes waiting to place the order and we had reservations. The food was slow but the waiter was slower. Our table and the others had to wait for everything and anything. I went to the bar to pay my check. He was nice but must have had too many tables.
Our food was not good like it used to be. The beef tenderloin came out greasy but we were afraid to wait for new food. My mom ate it and was sick when we got home. My lettuce was old. My onions not well caramelized. Fettuccine was dry. Gumbo too salty.
Nice folks but food and service need improvement.
Good, simple food...done well!
decent prices that won't break the bank. It was really fun watching the horses race while we ate! We will definitely be back!
We have eaten there several times & have been very happy with the experience. I do believe tho that the drinks are a bit pricey for the size of them.
Menu doesn’t accurately describe the entree ingredients. Made concerns known but staff didn’t take action. Very expensive for a mediocre meal.
Food was delicious and well prepared. Our server Sandra, was kind, helpful, and very courteous.
The service was horrible!!!
Brought us the wrong drinks, delivered the wrong gumbo after waiting forever.
Never refilled our bar drinks after the first round.
Food however, was very good.
But, I have very little good to say.
Great food & great service. Great atmosphere! Looking forward to going back. Had great experience!
Great food done well
We felt rushed by our waiter even though the restaurant was not full. Over priced.
First time here so I was expecting less. Wow.... the best ribeye steak and steamed asparagus I’ve had. Great atmosphere, track side table is a plus. Waitstaff could’ve used some help, but she was good as it was busy. I will definitely return. It is a bit pricey so be prepared.
Very good but terrible wait even with reservation.
Service was horrible food horrible and cold just not happy at all :(
I enjoy eating at Rosewater but Do not understand why sides are not included with entrees. Most restaurants offer choice of two sides, especially with a $34.00 plus price tag on an entree.
Also, Rosewater can use an upgrade on the "to go" boxes. Felt like I was taking home Dairy Queen with what they gave me to put my leftovers in. Most of my juices and sauces spilled on the way to my room because of this.
A great seat to watch the horses race. We made reservations and noted that it was for Date Night. Got to the restaurant and they had the table already set and waiting for us. The food was OK but the atmosphere and service were great.
The R grill and tavern had delicious food and great service. The appetizers and entree selections were well paired and presentation very nice. Chef had it going on. Left happy and satisfied without breaking the bank. High quality, tasty dishes. Looking forward to going back for more.
I have eaten the prime rib (delicious) and the fried chicken twice. It seemed like the chicken flavor was different on Saturday than the 1st time I ate it. Not bad, but not as good as I had remembered. Still, it was a nice meal.
Rosewater Grill continues to fall short of expectations. The decor, menu and ambiance promise a great dining experience. Unfortunately it never quite gets to the finish line.
It took three phone calls and an online connections to make the reservation. Their phones weren't working properly. That should have been taken as an omen.
Rosewater Grill is always slightly understaffed. Servers rush through the restaurant apologizing for slow service because they're short staffed. They're working hard but there aren't enough of them for this level of restaurant. Multiple tables were irritated by slow service, long waits for water, beverages, food, checks. One table, clearly angry, finally changed their order to, "take out" when the wait became too long.
The food is very good. Kudos to chefs and kitchen team However, it's usually less than hot. The next table noted butter wouldn't melt on the cold baked potatoes. Our potato was similarly cold and the steak tepid. We've had this happen the last three times we've been there.
We enjoy what Rosewater promises, a great menu, exceptional views of the horse track, nice ambiance, etc. Mediocrity isn't what we want.
The horses bring us back to Delta Downs. I'd like to think Rosewater Grill will improve so enjoyable dining will compliment our trip.
Visited for family member's birthday. Food was delicious, our server Angela was polite, attentive and courteous. My husband and I have enjoyed the restaurant on several occasions and it's always been fantastic.
The service was so bad we never even ordered any food. We had a reservation for 7:30 and had to wait for someone to seat us. Once seated we realized we did not have any menus. We waited for 20 minutes and no one ever waited on us. Multiple servers walked by but never stopped. We decided to leave so never tried the food. We talked to the manager before we left, she said she was sorry and would make it right if we stayed. We decided to go ahead and leave.
Do something about your bland butter, it really has no flavor. Other than that, sides should be included with your steaks.
Server was inundated with a large section.
Our steak was tough, but the sides were outstanding. It was very cold, even sitting by the window. When we first arrived, the music was way too loud, but then it was eventually turned down. The waitress was very friendly, but busy.
Great food...! This is a must stop if you're headed east on I-10 near Vinton.
We brought 2 of our grandkids, 12 & 5 years old. They liked it alot and ate what they ordered, plus the Molten Lava Cake for dessert. We will definitely be back. We had a very friendly waitress and she was running. Tracy Lawrence had performed earlier and yall were very busy, but she was great.
Food was excellent! My steak was cooked as I ordered and I ate 100% of it. Granddaughter ordered shrimp Tacos and loved them, different than the typical ones she has had before. Highly Recommend.
Food is always exceptional, service is great. Servers always arrive at the table with a smile
Rosewater Grill has great service and good food...!
We eat at Rosewater Grill every time we go to Delta Downs. Food is always good and the service is fantastic. We always request Sandra to wait on us and she has always done a great job and is an outstanding waitress.
I love Delta Downs first and foremost, so this review in no way is about the hotel or casino, it is about the Rosewater, which I expected much more from overall.
His, a 16oz Prime rib and an ala carte' side of Mac n Cheese, which if it was truly slow cooked for 10hrs, would NOT have been COLD anywhere and if it wasnt old or a leftover, then when ordered rare, one would expect to see bloody juices on the plate with it, which there wasnt.
Mine, a New York Strip was served as a butterfly cut! Ordered medium well, and served medium rare, with bloody juices nearly as high as the 2 thin cuts! I took one bite, which was ' tough' for being med rare already. Sent it back and told waitress, Id never seen a New York served or cut this way, EVER. Strip means strip. She said, its so it cooks faster. By, the time she brought it back, I had already finished, reluctantly, my overdone ala' carte baked potatoe!
Now, this pathetic piece of meat was even smaller due to being wayyy overcooked, burned black crisp and all!!
I didnt even attempt to cut or taste it.
The waitress new I wasnt pleased, and didnt bother to even return to our table to inquire how things were, want anything else or even dessert, or offer to adjust our 99.00 bill...btw, waitress' name, Jessie, if given to us correctly by the hostess.
I had a reservation and arrived there early and had a drink at the bar. The bartender was nice, didn't say much but checked on us. When I was brought to my table in the back the temp. Was very cold, too cold. I ordered my meal and when I asked the steak to be cooked medium plus the server said the cooks complain too much when they are ordered like that so suggested me just do medium. When I got my meal the steak was undercooked and super tough. I asked if the steak could be cooked longer and if its usually that tough and she said well kinda and our knives suck. I am super dissapointed and I was really looking forward to it.
Nice surroundings with yummy food. The Street Tacos were tasty!
Overall the food was wonderful, as always. We love sitting by the windows to view the horse racing. A great place to take friends and family to dine.
We had a great view to the racetracks. Our waitress had a great attitude & was always checking up on us. The food was superb & especially my millionaire margarita.
The Rosewater Grill & Tavern at Delta Downs in LA was outstanding. It was a total inclusive dining event from the exceptional food choices, to the great taste, to the terrific atmosphere and to the excellent service. It was our first time there and we were taken back by the whole experience. We are already making plans for our next outing there.
We had a large party -12- it was a wedding dinner and New Years Eve also and we were treated extremely well. We were never rushed or made to feel like we had worn our welcome out. We had our cake and our waitress and waiter were so nice they supplied plates and utensils and took our pictures. This was above our expectations for our wedding dinner with our children and grandchild.
Thank you !!!
The service is very slow. We sat there 20 mins before getting our drink order taken.
It seems like they are in no hurry to wait on you once you arrive. We have eaten here several times and every time the service is slow.
If they would be more attentive to the customers it would be a fabulous place to eat because the food is very good.
Food was over cooked, drinks were extremely weak and contained little alcohol
the rosewater has come back to the standards we were use to in 2008 when we first went there. seating is comfortable, your can view the racetrack if you choose, cocktails above average, the menu is improved....you can have old favorites, try something completely different, eat healthy, or not....enjoyed this visit. my husband is using a scooter for a broken ankle--we were able to use the ramp to get to a view of the races....very nice! alison, our waitress, took care of everything...attentive, but not too much. thank you all for bringing this great restaurant back to the top..
