Crispy Brussel Sprouts
with Nueske's Bacon
We wanted to beat the Sweetest Day rush; therefore, our reservation time was as they opened for the evening. Literally no other diners were there yet which was great for us. I love personalized attention. Gerald- our server- was great. He was upbeat, very knowledgeable about the menu, and continued to check on us as well as the other servers. The ambiance was your typical fine dining experience: white linen, low lighting, quiet atmosphere, very clean…..there was even an air purifier located in the room which was comforting to see.
We started with a bottle of wine which was fine, but our experience took a nose dive when the food began to arrive. First course: lamb chop lollipops and salad. The meat had no flavor, but the accompanying sauce made up for it. Our entrees: ribeye steaks. One was Delmonico and the other was Chicago Cut- both were over done- a little burned actually. The manager was brought to our table and he did try to remedy the situation by offering to re-make the meal. Personally, I do not send food back- ever- but my fiancé’s meal was taken back and replaced with a steak at the appropriate temperature. I will not return to Rosebud. There are many steakhouses in Chicago that are more excellent, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try it. Maybe your experience will be different from mine.
Excellent service, very nice food, and a comprehensive beverage list.
Phenomenal food and incredible service. The wait staff was amazing and seemed to know exactly what I wanted before I did. It was the best meal and restaurant experience I have had in a long time.
This is my neighborhood to go resto. I always order my regular brick chicken, some seafood and pasta which is great. This time I had skirt steak first time and it was terrible. Chewy and my knife could hardly cut it. I should stick to my regular.
Excellent food & service
Our waiter Webster was absolutely the best! He ensured our table of 6 had the best experience and directed us perfectly on our ordering. The Lobster Got is a MUST have for an appetizer along with the lamb lollipops. You literally can’t go wrong with anything you order from their steaks, chicken and pasta. Lastly, their desserts are worth saving room for especially the Brown Butter Cake!
Food was great. Service very good, they forgot one of our sides and didn’t arrive until half way through the meal… not a big deal and was also great.
Great outdoor dining with wonderful food and excellent, friendly service.
Everything was absolutely wonderful! I would definitely recommend!
Everyone’s steak was sooooooo salty we couldn’t eat it. Fish was good. Bread was dry and crumbly. Very disappointing since it came recommended and this was first time we were there.
Always know it will be reliably a great time. Thanks!
Great food friendly atmosphere will be back! Delmonico very special steak
In town for a trade show and was looking to check out someplace we hadn’t been for a good steak. Found Rosebud which got really good scores and reviews.
Our party had filets and one person had the Delmonico ribeye.
We had the spinach, corn and steakhouse mashed potatoes for our sides.
The steak was ok but the sides lacked flavor, and needed salt at a minimum to enjoy. They were also not very warm when served.
The services started out fine but we got ignored once our food came out, and had a stretch of about 30 minutes where no one checked on us.
Also had a spider fall on one of our plates (we sat on the small patio out front), so it all added up to a disappointing meal.
If you have been to other city steakhouses such as Chicago Cut, Maestros or others, you will be disappointed going here.
Great meal and fast service on a Friday night. Love the sliders and the preparation of the halibut - delicious meal. Thanks.
Service was terrible. Waited an hour before they took our dinner order. Food was great
I LOVE THIS STEAKHOUSE; THE FOOD AND SERVICE IS ALWAYS GREAT!
We were visiting from Houston, TX, and found these plays on the Open table. Our last night in Chicago So glad we made the choice. We had a reservation got there and only waited about 10 minutes for our table. Our waiter Jay was awesome. Very knowledgeable of what was on the menu.
Overall, the service was great! The experience was too. 👍🏼👍🏼
Had a very enjoyable evening! Thanks for the great dining experience!
Only problem was them not accepting Rosebud Gift Cards
It would be nice if the bartender didn’t over serve loud drunks at the bar. Would have made our visit 100 times better.
People were SO nice and welcome! Food was tasty! No complaints at all!
Delicious food; very loud inside but nice quiet dining available outside. Our server, Victor, was very nice and energetic but he was way over the top! He wanted to stay and have long, loud convos when my friend and I were trying to catch up.
Great food, excellent service…a little too loud. Enjoyed our evening!
this was only the second time we have been here and i forgot how fantastic the food is. everything we ate was delicious and expertly prepared. highly recommended and we will be back
Food and drink were outstanding. Server’s suggestions were spot on, and he was personable and very attentive. A great experience!
Hubby & I celebrated our anniversary here we're actually from Detroit but wanted to try something new. Amazing hospitality & exceptional food. Recommend for all occassions.
Amazing food and excellent service. We will be back. The Butter Cake was heavenly.
Not just an outstanding meal...Rosebud on Walton is an amazing culinary experience! Chef Steve's attention to detail is second to none! Wait staff service & knowledge is spot on. Fork& knife bacon for appetizer as well as lobster with truffle butter & melted havarti. Steaks are world class! Brussel sprouts side is a must. Steve's signature butter cake...WOW!! Painfully stuffed bliss!!!
Celebration of survival.
The steaks were fantastic. Wet filet and KS strip, medium rare. Wedge and beet salads were Devine. As was baked potato side. The Brussels sprouts missed the mark for me but ymmv. All in,perfect Chicago steak house.
Gerald was fantastic. The food was spectacular. Butter cake for dessert was the best.
Nice atmosphere, good service, food was pricey but excellent.
The wait staff was very attentive. We were given a table right away and our drink orders were taken almost immediately.
The restaurant is pretty traditional steakhouse ambiance, not as loud as some which was nice. The service was very slow. We sat for 10 min before drinks, sat for 45 more before bread or oysters and got those after hearing one of our servers say our steaks would be out in a moment….Did have an amazing recommendation to mix truffle butter and peppercorn sauce. amazing. Food was actually all amazing!
Mussels were large and very tasty in a delicious tomato sauce. Chopped steak was large, smothered in mushrooms and onions and delicious too. They the Manhattan for a tasty cocktail. I understand large steaks can be shared without an extra charge. A plus.
Steaks were delicious as usual. Oysters were good although fairly small. Service was excellent!
Great food, service, old school ambiance. Expensive but great for a special occasion. The lobster got was great; truffle butter not too earthy. Dry aged steaks were fantastic.
Always great food and service
We had a great meal at Rosebud Steak house. The servers went above and beyond to make you feel welcome. We ordered the fish and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. We cant wait to put this in our list of regular restaurants.
