Rosebud Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
We went to Rosebud for lunch, having had excellent meals at the loop/Dearborn location. This was a different story. The food was strangely not good - and we ordered only salads! - and the service was terrible. Ingredients were not as described on the menu, salad was as if it had been sitting for days, and the dressing was clumpy. The kitchen forgot to add chicken to one salad and it took 15 minutes to correct the mistake. All in all a very disappointing experience.
My partner and I went here for Valentine's Day dinner. I was honestly surprised I was able to book a reservation because it was last-minute. When we arrived around 8, it was very crowded and loud, which I expected for the holiday. We were seated at a small table that was jammed in the corner, but it was almost better that way because it was a little quieter than the rest of the restaurant.
Our waiter was fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. The wine we ordered was delicious, and our food was OUTSTANDING. My partner ordered the skirt steak with onions and he couldn't stop talking about it. I ordered the 8oz filet mignon with french fries, which was seriously amazing. We were too full for dessert, so we each got a glass of port to finish the night.
We had been hesitant to go out for Valentine's Day because we knew it'd be so hectic, but we had such a good experience here that we were really happy we did. I couldn't recommend this place enough!
The atmosphere the food the service are outstanding and I can’t say enough about rosebud in general but this particular location is way over-the-top plus it’s right next-door to the famous Knickerbocker hotel in Chicago which is an amazing treat not to mention the world-famous Chicago Drake is right next-door as well
The dining and experience inside this particular Rosebud is a major advantage as if you are considering to stay at either one of the hotels that I just mentioned neither one of the hotels could possibly compare to the amazing experience at Rosebud and yet they’re only 25 steps away
My daughter and I took my mom to Rosebud for her birthday. The food was outstanding as well as the service. The only thing was the seating . It was a tight fit and my seat was in the main throughway to the kitchen . Other than that it was delicious and excellent !
To be honest, everything we had was delicious and the service was great - up until the steak.
We requested our steak - a boneless ribeye -to be cooked medium rare and sliced.
It arrived rather rare. Like super red and cold, rare.
When we spoke up to the staff, our waiter disappeared for the next 20 minutes and did not take any responsibility for messing up the highest ticket (and most important) item we had ordered. The Maitre'D ended up taking the plate, throwing it under the broiler to cook it through more, and it returned to our table a little overcooked and the ends were burnt to a crisp. We ate what we could and then left the restaurant.
The remainder of our meal, our waiter avoided us at all costs and no one at the restaurant apologized or tried to make this right by giving us a discount on our $300 bill.
Rosebud, we're highly disappointed considering we had heard you provided great quality steaks and unparalleled service. We wish you had given us a better experience with this meal.
We love your food...salads, steaks, fish, vegetables...it's all great! My palate would prefer that the chopped salad have romaine for the greens...head lettuce is limp and doesn't support the strength of the other vegetables on the plate. The other suggestion is to notify guests of the overwhelming amount of salt on the baked potato...please let the consumer decide with eyes wide open. Thanks!!
The ribeye steak was the best i’ve ever had, perfectly cooked and unbelievable flavor. My wife’s filet was cooked to perfection. Due to traveling 3-4 days a week for business throughout the country, I’m forced to eat out often. Brandon our waiter provided the best service I can ever remember. Most waite staff due a good job but Brandon went out of his way to make our visit memorable. Great dinner experience.
We had been to Rosebud Steakhouse in the past, and had enjoyed our experiences. This time was different. We went for lunch, and there were only 4 tables occupied. It felt like a ghost town. Service was very slow, which is not what you would expect with so few patrons to serve. We both had their "Best burger in Chicago" as the waiter boasted. The burgers were fine, but we've had better. No condiments were served. We had to ask twice before we were given any. Also, when we ordered, the waiter asked if we wanted fries, even though we ordered a different side dish. The menu said the burgers came with one side dish. When we reminded him of that, he insisted that fries also came with the burgers. I still declined the fries, but my wife said she would have some. When the burgers came, she did not get her fries. When we asked about it, the waiter said we were only entitled to one side. Incredible! He reluctantly brought her some fries, and said it would not be the case in the future. The waiter was very chatty with the customers at the table next to us. He rambled on with us as well, but when we needed something, he was standing up at the bar. In all, it was a disappointing lunch. It's too bad, as we live just a few blocks away, and frequently dine out in the area. Based on this experience though, we'll be in no hurry to return.
Must have walked past for a year but when freezing cold on NYEve - was convenient and what a delightful surprise. 17 days later back for more. Excellent service. Food? Perfect. Shared the Brick chicken, pasta w vodka sauce and 2 extra large super sized shrimp ea. for 3 ppl. They plated for ea of us (Better than mom). Can’t go wrong. As Arnold would say, “We’ll be back.”
Rosebud is one of our favorite restaurants but it fell short this time. A medium rare or request for "burger pink throughout" was brown throughout, making it tougher than either of us like. Since we like this restaurant usually SO MUCH, we didn't send out food back but told the waiter to inform the chef the condition of our burgers. Downer!!
Went NYEve as last minute decision - was hopping! Will go back for chicken and shrimp as everyday eats. Must have walked past your restaurant dozens of times, but never went in. Found it on a chilly, below zero nightm - wanting a close place to walk/dine. Got close and delicious. Big TY. #neighborhoodfind #streeterville
