The atmosphere was great. Although loud it was still enjoyable. The food amazing the portion size unbelievable. Kudos to the chefs and the wait staff. They stayed on top of keeping the glasses filled and clearing when necessary. Our waiter was not as attentive as I thought he should be but all of the others helped to make the experience great. I had the eggplant parmesan and Godiva chocolate cake for dessert. Excellent. Recommend both. Wine was not bad either.
It can be hard to trust reviews, especially if you’re out of town, but lemme tell you, the GOOD reviews about Rosebuds on Rush are spot on!!!
Our meal was SPECTACULAR! Authentic Italian, yes please!!!
I had chicken parm without cheese (caus I’m CRAY), it was everything I dreamed of! My daughters had cheese ravioli and Alfredo.
Other than the food, my favorite part was my new “Italian Godfather” (presumably the owner or a family member) yelling up to the hostess, “it’s her birthday, let her server know, there betta be singing!” I loved it!!!! They forgot to sing, but that’s ok, his gesture made my night!
Oh, and get the salted caramel gelato! You’ll thank me later!
The staff was clearly overwhelmed, but tried to keep a cheery face.
Weekend getaway in Chicago. One of my go-to places and they never disappoint. Professional, friendly, and always the best Italian food. Will always go back!
Excellent service and food
Meal and service was superb !
Always a Chicago classic made all the better by the personalized outstanding service
Food was delicious and plentiful. The wait staff was attentive but not overbearing and very nice. The atmosphere was what I picture a restaurant looks like in Italy.
Amazing restaurant! Best chicken Parmesan I have ever had! If you like this dish, it is a must try. I have ordered this dish a lot all over the world and this one will not let you down. Important note - this dish can feed 2 very hungry adults. More if you share salads or appetizers. Last but least the service was incredible. Server was great and really kind and accommodating with our kids.
Such great service and food as always! Vodka Penne is ALWAYS the best.
Loved the eggplant ! I would love to have the recipe.
Delicious dining experience… the meatballs snd polenta were scrumptious as was the veal franchise!
Everything was perfect. The Fettuccine Alfredo was delicious and had lots of sauce. The hostess was sweet and mentioned my birthday that she must have seen from our reservation. The patio was cute with lights on the awning. Our waitress was nice and attentive, along with the busboys. They even served us complimentary cannolis for my birthday! Incredible place! ❤️
I usually visit the Taylor street location but the Rush location was nice. A little noisy but the food was good and the ambiance nice. My wife and I celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary. Our server was attentive and friendly. I would reccomend this resturant to friends and family
Very unimpressed with Rosebud. Our server was more of a salesman than a server. Ended up paying almost $200 for a VERY mediocre sea bass and flat-out distasteful zuppa di pesce. We will not be returning here. We also waited nearly 40 minutes between our appetizer and entree.
Exceptional it along food.
The food and service was fantastic! If you are not a big eater, I suggest splitting a dish with someone. The dinner portions are huge!
Very generous portions of excellent food (as usual)! Highly recommended. Quaint little dining room or outdoor terrace for people watching - your choice but you can’t go wrong!
The servers and staff were all very attentive. Food and wine were pricey but pretty good. Nice atmosphere, too.
Everything was amazing from the meal to the cocktails! We sat outside and it was great!
Amazing! Would definitely go again. Not too expensive for being downtown Chicago but you definitely get more than you pay for in my eyes!
We enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Rosebud. It's been one of our "go to" Chicago Italian restaurants for 30 years and it did not disappoint. We were thrilled to be able to sit outside as the weather was perfect and the fresh air was just what we needed. We look forward to going back in the future!
Server was very accommodating for vegan requests.
Every time we come to Chicago, Rosebud on Rush is a must!
Fabulous as always. We love the ambiance and the outdoor seating. The eggplant stack is phenomenal. We also had the pasta alla vodka and meatballs. Al was wonderful. Great wine list too
It was a okay, waitet was so roud and rushing us
The food was good but the portions were HUGE! One pasta dish was perfectly suitable for 2 people. But we each ordered our own pasta and it was so much food we couldn’t finish and we were just visiting so we couldn’t take the rest of the food with us. It is such a shame to throw food away, that’s why I can’t give this restaurant a glowing review.
Always top notch Italian food and service. Patio chairs were uncomfortable, though, and the street noise was overwhelming at times (as could be expected).
We went out to just celebrate getting out again. We sat outside and it was wonderful!
We sat inside in a wonderful room with white table cloths, red seats, and wooden furniture. Very traditional! The food portions were huge, almost ridiculously so, but the quality was surprisingly high. Costs were on par for the area.
The bartender, Jon, was particularly accommodating during my two visits.
Excellent service, delicious food!
Great night! Huge portions! The veal Parmesan and chocolate cake was amazing! Highly recommend
Our entrees arrived before we had been served salad and when my entree did arrive following the salads, it was the same dish that they had just held on the hot line. I did tell the Manager and he handled it quite well I must say so thank you so much for that. Drink service was super slow and it seemed like the server almost forgot a beer at one point. In addition the server was a bit surly in his approach. The furniture seemed like it was banquet furniture as our table was on a slant and I kept getting wet from dripping water.
We had the best server Ted
The portions are plentiful & love the ambiance of the lower level.
I took my parents to Rosebud on Rush for their 50th wedding anniversary. I wish I hadn't. We asked to sit outside for the ambience. They have a red awning/covered sidewalk seating and it was enclosed because it had rained earlier in the day. It must have been 85 degrees in there. I asked if they could turn on a fan and they said it was broken. Contemplated moving inside but there was a large table of Karens drunk on wine shouting their heads off. The waitress was not very attentive despite the fact that it wasn't very crowded. I wish we had gone somewhere else.
Terrible, terrible experience! We were stuffed in a corner, could not hear each other and the food quality was not great. When I asked for a new table the hostess said yes, then came to the table and said no and told me I could connect with the manager but they were too “busy”. For the rest of the evening I saw four tables open and no one sitting there. The table next to us felt exactly the same. I could not believe the waste of money this was. I am planning to share my disappointing experience. It was the first time we had seen my parents in months and I shared that with the hostess and there was zero care or consideration. Waste of $250!!
Food was fabulous. The baked cavitelli, chicken visuvio, and veal visuvio were excellent. Veal was perfectly cooked. The sautéed spinach was also delicious. No room for dessert. Service was very slow tonight. One hour to get food. 30 minutes for check. 20 minutes to pay. We’ll try it again because of the food.
While the food we had was very good, we made a mistake by dining outside. Way too noisy to the point of being disruptive. Our waitress was ok but not as attentive as she should have been. She serviced a group that came in after we were seated before taking care of us. The manager stepped in a number of times to make sure we were taken care of. The manager should never have to do that, especially at a well known, established restaurant. The average service from the waitress and the disruptive ambience aside, the food is very good. Skip the Nonna's chocolate cake if ordering desert. The slice I was given was absolutely huge, but unfortunately very dry.
