   Restaurant is closed for business despite ability to make a reservation on open table. We arrived to find the space empty.

   They shut down a few days ago. Arrived for our reservation to an empty resturant. Would have been nice if they stopped taking reservations before they went out of business.

   I have been to this restaurant both in Boston and West Hartford, Connecticut both of which I’ve repeatedly given raving 5 star reviews. But yesterday was the total opposite. I have never received such a horrible experience until yesterday. Immediately upon walking in, it was total chaos. Even with a reservation, they were continuing to take walk ins before us. The host, manager, and food delivery driver were in an active argument regarding wait times. Between the music and the loud people the volume level was pure insanity. My partner and I were laughing at each other being only 12” apart and still hard to hear each other speaking is an absolute shame for any restaurant. When finally sat, my request on the reservation couldn’t be met. Our first order of drinks were two frozen margaritas which came to the table with literally no ice in them. Mine was room temperature. I have to find the bartender myself to let them know in which I was told that I shouldn’t have received those drinks because the frozen machine was not ready to pour yet. So they agreed to comp my drinks. It was at that point that the food came out. We still haven’t even had a chance to talk and enjoy our drinks before our table was filled with our order. We didn’t receive the actual frozen drinks until we have completely finished eating. The entire time it was literally so challenging to hear each other that we couldn’t even have a meaningful conversation and we kept talking about how hard it was to hear. We even brainstormed ideas as to how restaurants can control their customers sound by simply lowering the volume of the music so people have to be quieter to hear it. Rosa Mexicana is NOT a bar. It is not a fast food joint, or a chain restaurant. Rosa Mexicana is a very well known brand in very select locations across the United States and for this restaurant to be as totally out of control, loud, and rowdy as it was yesterday was a serious black eye on my future deciding with to take a date for din

   Overall I was pretty disappointed. I have been to Rosa Mexicano in Boston several times and loved it so much I couldnt wait to try when the CT location was opened. It was so loud we couldn't talk to each other without yelling. All 4 of us had the birria quesotacos and it was 3 mini corn tacos with (Ive being generous here) a tablespoon of meat in each one. For $25 dollars a plate I expected more than a few ounces of meat with a dish of grease to dip it in. We had nachos with chicken for an appetizer and it was 6 huge corn tortilla chips with 7 chunks of chicken, and sprinkled with the other various veg. and covered in sour cream drizzle. Very sparse. $187.00 bill for overpriced undersized portions. We won't be returning.
