The food was delicious. The large plates are really large portions, probably enough to share. Our server, Tricia was fantastic, attentive and thoughtful!
Unique flavors great ambiance wonderful experience
All of the food was awesome. They have a mix of small, medium and large plates to make it easy to share.
We sat outside but the interior is beautiful. We will definitely be back.
Great food plus friendly, efficient service always makes a good combination! We especially loved the biscuits and also appreciated the pretty dinnerware. It was our first time dining here. We’ll definitely go back!
The food was decent, but the service was painfully slow. It was ironic because our server told us several times that it was a slow night, yet our service was still very slow. Would be unlikely to visit again.
Loved the ambiance- great server who was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu.
The food was amazing from start to finish!
Food was amazing. We will definitely be going back!
Amazing customer service!!!!! Everyone that we interacted with at the restaurant was super friendly, welcoming and really made the experience a wonderful one. We will definitely be back for both brunch and dinner. Now one of my new favorites places.
The bone in pork chop was fantastic. Bread pudding dessert was excellent. Too much food for one person shared with my son.
Wait staff was very attentive and always checking in.
Will be going back next week to try something else. Menu changes to keep it fresh.
First time and we will be back. Great all around! Shrimp and grits and the chicken biscuits were amazing
It was our second visit there and we loved it just as much as our first time. We celebrating a birthday and everyone there enjoyed their food and the atmosphere. We will definitely be back!
We had reservations at 8:15 and hoped to sit outside as it was a beautiful evening. They were able to accommodate us promptly. Our server was very nice but not terribly attentive. Drinks were ordered, 2 of us with water, 2 with cocktails - forgot what one person ordered. Water refills were rare and spilled on 2 of our party. The restaurant was not overly busy for a Friday night and the food came out a bit slow which was fine because we weren't in a hurry. We were ordering one dish to take home, notified the waitress at the time of our original order and had to flag her down. One in our party was going to box her leftovers and offered to do it at the table, the waitress said she could do it, and then they were thrown away. That being said, she made it right as the kitchen prepared another dish and boxed it up for our party member. It was not terrible, didn't ruin the evening, but the service was not the best.
Great ambience, friendly service and ultra delicious food.
Excellent meal! The options all sounded so good we wanted to order one of everything, but since we couldn’t we will definitely be back soon to try more of the menu before it changes again.
We went to this establishment on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. Four people who ordered four different dishes. Food was just okay, presentation of food was very nice, but the food was not impressive at all. Service was very poor and restaurant wasn’t busy at the time. The restaurant was very clean and the hostess was very nice. May try this place again for dinner, but will not go back for brunch. With so many options in Indy for brunch we will definitely go elsewhere. Very said because it is decorated very well.
Atmosphere, Service, and Food was outstanding. Brunch menu was definitely worth the trip into SoBro
Been wanting to try this place for a couple months and it did not disappoint. Everything from the atmosphere to the service was A+ (music was on point too). Not to mention the food was beyond delicious.
Great meal and very attentive service. I like the small plate choices as an option.
Excellent food. Especially like the Grandma Angel honey biscuits, comfort food at a higher level. I also enjoyed the Caprese style sausage gnocchi, an explosion of flavors; generous portion. Desert was the Chocolate truffle , perfect ending to a delicious meal. Everything was elevated by the outstanding service of our waiter Shawn. 😊👍🏻👍🏻
Great food in a comfortable atmosphere with friendly staff.
The atmosphere is rustic yet chic and inviting. The food is comforting with a balance of bold flavors. While it feels familiar, the flavors are innovative and fresh. My husband and I visited Root & Bone for brunch and it was everything I dreamed it would be and then some. We are familiar with Chef McInnis' style of food and Root & Bone did not disappoint.
COVID is making life hard for everyone. However friendlier service will make me come back. Today Experience made me questioned if I will. We need to be warm welcoming and accommodating in this environment. For example I wonder why they have to be very strict about à menue item substitution if it is only a piece of meat in an American breakfast dish. The server would not budge.
Amazing brunch menu!
An incredible experience from the food to the service! Unbelievably fresh food, friendly staff, amazing flavor combos - you will not be disappointed!
Root and Bone was wonderful. We started off rocky as I requested an outside table and their patio is first come first served. So we were seated inside, we didn’t feel comfortable and expressed that to the manager and he set up a table for us on the patio. From that point on the experience was flawless.
The food and service was excellent, would highly recommend.
Nice restaurant addition to College Avenue. We will be back
A great makeover of an old space made for a great ambiance in the restaurant. A varied and well thought out menu made for a lot a trying other's food.
This wasn’t my first time coming... but this time it wasn’t that great undersized portions (green beads and mashed potatoes)... and not that great of service that day
Overall a decent experience, however I had requested seats outside, was seated inside. The music or sound system needs to be tweaked for the venue, its incredibly hard to have a conversation with someone. Their version of their grits was en pointe, however the mac and cheese was overpriced and dry and I ended up throwing most of it away at the end.
Amazing service, food and atmosphere. Not sure there was much alcohol in the cocktail I had but it was delicious. The Caprese Gnocchi was delicious.
Our group of four enjoyed our first evening at R&B. Each of us had something different but we all like what we ordered. We’ll go back. I only wish the music had not been so loud.
This place was great! The food, the service, the atmosphere, all. We really, really enjoyed it and will definitely be back!
As a New Yorker, I am aware of root & bone’s exceptional reputation and was pleasantly surprised to find one here in my hometown of Indianapolis. The food was delicious... my friend and I shared the fried chicken biscuit appetizer, the “meatloaf”, and the Mac & Cheese and grits. We also tried the toffee bread pudding and olive oil cake. Very pleased with the taste and portion size of all things ordered. If I had to make one qualm about the experience, it was that the restaurant was a little crowded by the end of our meal (we started at 4:30 and finished around 6:30). With Covid happening, would have liked that the tables on either side of ours would have remained empty, but they were both occupied in the last 1/2 hour of our stay. There were larger tables available, but as we were all couples, we were placed together to reserve those larger tables for big parties? Otherwise, it was a very pleasant experience. Would definitely return again at less busy times so I can eat socially distanced.
Great food - great service - great atmosphere!!! We shall return!!!
Wonderful service and incredible food!!! Every dish was outstanding!
Amazing restaurant with delicious food! We had a wonderful time!
Great experience!!! Frankie was an awesome server!
The food was original, clever and creative without being over the top. We had the chicken, which was very good, and the Short rib meatloaf, but the highlight was the brisket appetizer.
Wonderful food with great service!!!!
