North Carolina chef and restaurateur, Jim Noble founded Rooster’s: A Noble Grille with the intention of being relevant without being trendy and to impress without being pretentious. That commitment has carried us through two decades and continues to lead us on today.

Knowing that simple food is harder to execute given there is nowhere to hide the flaws, we go to great lengths to source quality ingredients from local farmers and purveyors. We then take all the time necessary to develop their flavors —using both European and modern techniques—always working from scratch.

Our menu features tried and true staples like our spit­-roasted chicken cooked over open fire as well as progressive daily​ specials and elevated Small Plates featuring Executive Chef Brad Pennell. At Rooster’s, you’ll always find something new served with an honest commitment and consistently warm care.

    I had an amazing dining experience at Rooster’s! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting. A perfect setting for a relaxed evening out. Our server, Jackie, was absolutely incredible, she was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. I started with a Gimlet that was simply divine, perfectly balanced, and refreshing. My friend and I shared a pizza that hit all the right notes: crisp, flavorful, and just the right size. I also enjoyed a glass of rosé paired with a delicious soup that brought the whole meal together beautifully. Rooster’s is truly a gem in Winston-Salem. I’ll definitely be back soon!

    2nd time here, and honestly not the best experience. My steak was ordered medium rare and came out somewhere around the consistency of shoe leather. They served my wife's steak, but took mine back, letting her eat alone while we waited 20 minutes for them to bring me a new one. By the time the re-do was ready, her meal was finished. They brought mine and she had to watch me eat. Value was also not there. Once they redid the steak it was good, but for the same price as Ruth's Chris, I expect a Ruth's Chris quality meal, not a small filet on a plate all by itself. After I finished my meal (again, by myself) and while I didn't expect the steak to be comped or feel entitled, it would have been nice to have our appetizer taken off the bill, or be offered a comped dessert. Again, that's what other restaurants at this price point would do. It just felt like a restaurant trying to masquerade as fine dining, without any of the established standards of quality and service those places provide.

    Good to be back at Rooster’s and try other items on the menu. Our server was excellent and quickly resolved an issue with the main dish. My wife initially ordered the lamb, but it had a noticeable lamb smell, so the server helped her change it without any hassle. Overall, it was a great dining experience. Looking forward to trying more dishes and any new upcoming menu items!
