Nothing like the Yes, No Morgan experience. The initial greeting and drink were nice but things went downhill from there. Lots of people and noise around our room. Door handle was broken and the Bluetooth speaker that was supposed to be on the mantle was missing. We went into our room and the first course was a cold, already plated soup. Printed "clue" cards were confusing and didn't always make sense. For example, one told us to be very careful for the "very hot broth" that was actually a very cold consomme. I did not eat the soup. The biscuits were good but would have been amazing warmed. I don't do well with dairy and am allergic to strawberries and when we came for the Morgan experience, the staff had clearly taken those issues seriously - I received a delicious dairy-free, strawberry-free and (for some reason) gluten-free meal for that visit. For the Titanic experience, there weren't opportunities to voice much other than my strawberry allergy (which I'll get to later). The main course was good but nothing like our last visit. We both had the filet of beef, which were cooked perfectly but we had to guess which was med rare and which was medium. The side dishes were not warm and one was clearly dairy, so that was a bummer. The other was a rice/raisin combo that neither one of us enjoyed. Both desserts were dairy, so that was also a bummer. At the end of the meal, we received a box with a combination lock on it - that actually had no bearing on whether or not you could open the box, which was strange. Inside were cookies filled with cream and berries. Now, I should say that the cookies are one of the most delicious I have ever tasted - but being dairy intolerant and allergic to strawberries (which I had alerted the staff to), I had to just nibble little bites around the edges because the "berry jam" wasn't identified. We had asked to only have service outside our room, with no staff entering. That was not honored. More to share but no room...

We absolutely loved this experience. It was a brilliant way to enjoy dining out in a safe way during Covid, with some added fun mixed in. The mystery part was fun while also being simple enough to relax and enjoy our drinks and dinner. One of the best nights out we have had in a long time. We will be back for the Titanic!

Overall the experience was OK. If we had just been to the restaurant for dinner, the review might be better. We were there for the JP Morgan experience. The concept was clever and we were looking forward to a fun dinner with friends while trying to solve a mystery.

I’ll share what we enjoyed first. The salad & entree were excellent!! The serving in a hotel room during Covid was brilliant! We felt safe & comfortable plus everything appeared to be clean. The staff overall was very helpful and accommodating. The actor(s) did a great job and stayed in character throughout the experience!

Sadly for the not so good parts...
We booked the evening for a party of 4. When we arrived the room was set up for 3. Throughout the experience, we discovered that most of the food and beverage items were set up incorrectly. We said something right away when we noticed it for the drinks. We were told, the amounts were correct but because seating set up for 3 they made sure salad and entrees were correct. As the evening progressed and we got to desserts we discovered again, set up for 3. We called down at this point and spoke with a manager. He provided the additional dessert plus confirmed our original concern that the drink amounts were incorrect sending up the additional drink items. Regarding desserts, while very tasty, for the expense of the evening, we had hoped for something nicer than a prewrapped dessert in a box. In addition, while the entree was excellent, there was no vegetable served. Understand we paid $124 for just the meal and experience. Drinks priced separately. Going in we knew this would be expensive because of the experience but that gets to the last point of frustration, the experience itself wasn’t well explained. We had no idea what the mystery was or what we were trying to solve. We scoured the room and eventually figured out what we believed was to be the mystery solved but for the money, it needs to be better thought out.

All I can say is that the whole experience was amazing! My husband and I went for our birthday and will definitely go back. The shortrib Wellington that my husband had melted in his mouth. I had the baked sole and it was delicious! It was private and quite, and an all around wonderful evening for us. Such a great idea for this unforgettable experience!

We had an amazing experience with the Goodwin Hotel's "Yes/No Morgan" special dinner from the comfort of a Goodwin room. The reception was so nice, the snacks, the salad, the entrees, the cocktails, the dessert... all superb! Highly recommend this escape for a night. Well worth the cost and we would do it again.

I booked the Yes/No Morgan experience to celebrate my wife's birthday with a couple friends. While I took advantage of the offer to book a room at a reduced rate, I'm going to review that separately.

Arrival - The entry lounge was nicely decorated, and the hostess that greeted us / checked us in was both informative and delightfully immersive. This being a contactless experience, they take excellent care to make sure you have everything you need and know everything you need to before being shown to your room. The only time you are with "other people" (remember, this is a covid-friendly experience) is in the entry lounge area, and parties are well-spaced. Mask policies were very politely but firmly enforced.

Dining Room - The room used for the dining area was small, but not cramped - very personal feeling. There is a supplied soundtrack via Spotify for the event, so if you don't have Spotify I recommend downloading it prior to arrival. It's relatively easy to use your phone to connect everything. We had a minor tech glitch (speakers were accidentally turned off in our room), but otherwise it was a nice touch.

Food - The food was excellent. There were some well-prepared classics, as well as some inspired creative foods/touches that were delightful. Dessert was probably the most uninspired part, but at the same time (we had the cocktail package) drinks were absolutely wonderful in execution, compliment to dinner, and stand-alone flavor.

Adventure - If you're into history, there's some fun background on Mr. Morgan, and it can all be set up chronologically. Really helps you see him develop as an individual. The puzzles themselves weren't at all difficult; if you walk into this with an escape room mentality and you've done that sort of thing before, you can rip this apart in a handful of minutes. I recommend just letting the dinner's "puzzle" portion run its course.

Overall, a great way to get out and have a safe, well-curated dining experience.

They had a special dinner experience based on JP Morgan and his relationship with Hartford. We had our own hotel room for our dinner. I won’t give the secrets away but it was a lot of fun. It was great to eat out and felt very safe. No one entered our room. The three course meal was excellent. They accommodated my needs with no issues. The salads were fresh. I loved the crabmeat encrusted sole and my husband loved his short ribs en croute. The brownies and cookies were also delicious. A great birthday dinner for him.

We had a wonderful time at the Yes or No Morgan experience. It's not much of an escape room, but it was a great dinner with a couple fun/easy things to solve. I was so bummed that a wedge salad was our first course - my least favorite salad; however, it blew me away. Every course was wonderful (especially the beef Wellington) and I loved the complimentary drinks. They were very different and fun. We've been avoiding eating inside any restaurants, but this whole experience felt very safe. Once we were in our dining room, we didn't see another couple or even the person bringing the food and clearing the plates. We ended up not eating the shortbread cookies until the next day since we were stuffed by the end, but they were lovely with coffee the next morning.

If they do a similar experience, we will certainly sign up.

Very unique experience and very creative use of the case in the COVID era. Great food and the mystery definitely added to things. A bit on the pricy side, but without much else to do was a great distraction and a fun night out.
