Amazing food. Great ambiance. Portions were somewhat small, but absolutely delicious.
The food was amazing as usual. The servers were very focused on speeding us up (ordering, clearing) but took a long time to bring out drinks/meals. We had to point out that some things they were clearing weren’t finished.
Excellent experience. Beautiful setting, delicious and inventive food. Great covid precautions. We felt very safe!
Food was good! We didn’t like the fact that it kept coming in different trips so when we finally got the rice the chicken that was left was super cold - also, we really didn’t like the shrimp being serve with the heads - that was not pleasant to see :(
Amazing food and great service. The staff was really friendly and we got all our food quickly. The sweet potato chaat and mock tails were particularly delicious.
Can be loud and sometimes difficult to get the waiters attention, but food and presentation was excellent.
The setting was good, a little noisy being outside. They could work on the quantity of food served for the price charged is quiet high.
Horrible service. Waiters did not even bring plates or tissues when I asked them. I had to ask multiple times. Also notice the waiter just cleaning the tables with the dirty towel and then touching the plates to give to customers. Especially in this time of Covid, I’d expect some sanitation! Very overpriced and not a pleasant experience. Won’t be returning
Amazing first time at ROOH! Celebrated a birthday and they gave us complimentary dessert which was sweet gesture to end our meal ! The food was amazing, authentic and made me feel like I’m sitting in india eating amazing Indian food
Food was mediocre.
Best Indian food i have ever had and that is saying a lot since i have had authentic Indian food at my Indian friends house before!
Really good cocktails, not your traditional Indian dishes, will be going back!
Good food, no drop off in quality of food or service from outdoor dining
Great ambiance, food, and experience. They lack in the value department given the prices are bit high, and drinks come in tiny glasses. Worth a try but will be challenging to make it a regular spot to visit.
Great food, drinks are okay, service is good! With seating outdoors now, noise level is loud. Definitely coming back here again!
great food, slightly disorganized but very nice servers
couldn't stand the loud music they were blasting
Really enjoyed the flavor of your specialized dishes with excellent service. We will come back, thank you.
Wonderful place to visit. Great food. Jackfruit based appetizer was yummy! Only complaint - indicated on website while booking that the occasion is for a birthday, but didn't hear anything from them related to that and I of course wouldn't have asked them to do something about it as it sounds cheap. Just a happy bday from them would have gone a long way. But food wise it was great and will definitely come back here.
We dined on a Monday so it was quiet and service was quick. Seating on the street was well-distanced from other diners and felt comfortably safe. Food was quite good - we ordered Achari Paneer, Kheema, Chicken 65 and Pork belly dishes along with a bottle of wine. All of them were really good except for the chicken one as it felt a little overdone. Overall, though, a good dining experience over some authentic Indian food.
Great food. The drinks were unique and awesome. Definitely recommend a visit.
An oasis of joy in a chaotic world. The outdoor seating on University Ave is festive and well spaced. Servers were very personable and attentive. As our first time at the place, we asked our server's recommendations, we had small plates (swordfish, cauliflower curry, 2 chicken), they were scrumptious. Drinks were tasty too! Very fun place for a date night. (bathrooms were nice and clean too! ;o).
Amazing food and service. My favorite was paneer pasanda. A must try.
Food was just okay.
Had the sea bass at the recommendation of the waiter.
Essentially baked with a few spices. Did not seem it was cooked with the bananas leaf.
The beef short ribs were fine but lacked any Indian spices.
The lamb shank was fine with the sauce.
Avocado Bel was above average.
Overall a bit hyped up for Indian fusion.
Great food. This was a modern take on several popular Indian dishes. The dahi puri was delightful.
Warm and comfortable. Friendly staff
Let me summarize my experience and say it was very underwhelming. I had high expectations for this place! The cocktails were blah. The jackfruit cutlet was ok; same goes for the pork belly. The achari paneer was nothing worth mentioning. Main dish was lamb shank Nihari, it was just ok too. The service was not too bad . The music/ really loud.
Great food and service!
Great food, we have been three times and it gets better!
They need more food options. Such in chicken, vegetarian.
The staff was great. They followed all the necessary precautions due to COVID. Food was delicious and ambiance was nice.
I wish I could give this restaurant 6 stars instead of 5. Rooh Palo Alto was a superb experience. I had the privilege of dining at the Chicago location, so I was very excited to try the Palo Alto location. It did not disappoint!!!
First of all, I felt very safe dining during the pandemic. This place has COVID dining DOWN. They were so efficient and made me feel safe. A lot of outdoor seating and amazing service.
The cocktails are always excellent! I know my own personal tastes pretty well, but I appreciate the great recommendations that the staff gives when I am looking to try something new.
I consider myself an Indian food conseur and Rooh blew my mind!! The ambiance definitely feels like you are in a different world and you forget that you are in the city. I enjoyed trying small plates. We got the black truffle khulcha with goat cheese. My boyfriend tried the pork belly with sweet glaze. I have never seen him eat so fast. He loved it!! I tried the swordfish tikka from the grill which was amazing. We split the short rib curry that had beef short ribs with carrots and a kofta on the bone marrow. This was my favorite dish and I would highly recommend it.
We truly enjoyed our experience, food, drinks and ambiance at Rooh Palo Alto. We definitely will return to try the rest of the menu.
It’s always a different Experience whenever we come.
I was amazed they have new items on their menu.
Achari Paneer Tikka actually could taste the pickle and the
Paneer was nice and soft.
We also tried the new Dessert semolina cake with grilled peaches with a side of ice cream it was yum.
Rooh is our favorite spot and with them rotations the menu was a pleasant surprise.
Were expecting more from the food and service. Ambience was nice
One of our items was served after we finished our meal. We asked for it several times and told them to cancel it when they brought it out. I had to ask our server several times for him to refill water.
I tip always well when I receive good service. It was hard for me to leave a tip. Very few Indian Restaurants have learnt the art of service.
Rooh Palo Alto with outdoor dining was excellent!
Delicious food and great service complimented this fun dining experience outside in the street. Was so nice to be able to dine out during the pandemic. You can rest assured Rooh is taking the precautions necessary to ensure your safety during this crisis.
Great food. Fabulous presentation. My husband and I had a lovely time.
Nice outdoor seating. Good Covid precautious
Food was excellent, interesting, spicy but not too spicy.
Service was on the slow side.
Great combination of atmosphere and excellent food. The al fresco experience is outstanding. Best place in Palo Alto these days!
