food was great as was the view. Our server was amazing and we will return. Only downside was a person at the pier playing an amplified guitar and signing loudly. Guessing the restaurant can't control street performers but his racket was not welcomed by anyone at our table.
Great view overlooking colorful PISMO BEACH sign and ocean beyond. Top spot for sunset. Food very good. The low rating is for the most dismal service experience we’ve had in a restaurant. Arriving for our reservation we were promptly seated front row for the sunset evening. And there we sat enjoying a perfect view for 30 minutes. Finally I returned to the host and ask if perhaps there was confusion. No Sharan, I think it was, will be there he reports. And in a few minutes she stops by and announces ‘I was busy taking care of a wedding party’. I said I know as we had watched her constantly arranging the ladies for ocean sunset pictures, even climbing on the plastic chair to get her shots. With that she left proclaiming we would be better off with another server. The host gentleman reappears and asks if he could buy us an appetizer while we waited, nice. Crab arancini. Great. Eventually we have Kale show up and take our drink order. Our appetizer arrived and still no drinks. Eventually the martinis arrived in plastic glasses, even though we had glass goblets for water. An hour plus since we sat down we got our salads and seafood pasta. Both presented beautifully and delicious. Though again a service issue, no plate for the shells. We used the now empty martini glasses. As local residents we wanted to support this restaurant as the hotel adds a grand addition to our beach area. Sadly, leave this restaurant to the tourists do not know better.
Food was less than stellar for the price. Staff was excellent
Nothing special but ok view
Wonderful! Had some champagne and ahi tuna nachos—so so good! We will be back for sure, even just to have a drink and watch the ocean.
They were late opening with people waiting. New chef and menu coming soon...try it then. Windy! Plexiglass would help!
Booked reservation only to find a private rooftop part and no access for our reservations. Poor quality hotel and dining
Everything was great!
It was nice - limited menu - very expensive, 4 hamburgers, 1 club sandwich, 2 appetizers, 2 bottles of wine and 4 beers = $379 😳
Reservation was not needed for lunch. Only one server on duty. Waited over one hour to order, another hour wait to get the mediocre food. Will not be back.
waited 2h to get a drink and sandwiches, no food menu, drinks ok...
Open Table allowed me to book a reservation for10:45 am, we traveled from outside of the area for this reservation specifically and the restaurant didn’t open until 11:30. I had to book another reservation for 12:00 and kill some time only to wait over 30 min for a drink and then 90 min for my food. I will never return and never recommend.
Wasn’t ready for our reservation.
Out of the food we ordered and not told until after 20 min in.
Forgot drinks, spoons and utensils
Food was very good and staff was very friendly but the service was amazingly slow- over 45 minutes from ordering until hummus appetizer arrived.
I made reservations six weeks ahead of time for a special occasion, my daughters graduation. We were ushered to a couch area with three tiny tables where we were expected to dine a full meal for seven people. I requested another table which we got. It took them a half an hour to acknowledge us at the new table and to bring us drinks. . The menu choices were not good (4 entrees) service was slow. No one seemed to care. To add insult to injury, they attached a 22% automatic tip to our party. The food and drink choices were minimal and overpriced. Overall a horrible experience. Especially disappointing on a special occasion like this and in a venue with great potential.
Got to celebrate my graduation here with my family and the view was beautiful! Great service - quick and easy.
The restaurant was not prepared at all. We were seated promptly but took about 20 minutes for a server to come to the table. The server was very nice and just seemed overwhelmed. We order d drinks- she forgot to bring half of them, and then brought us the wrong drinks. 2 people had ice tea. No one came by to refill water or iced tea. It was VERY hot out so I finally went and got us all more water. When our meals finally arrived (about 40 minutes after ordering) two of them were incorrect. We had two people with severe dairy allergy and the dishes were brought covered in cheese (despite making sure we let them know both to exclude cheese and severe dairy allergy). About 20 minutes later one of the dishes came back correct. After an hour I had to track down someone to check on the other one that was never brought back. (Apparently when the food was sent back we got put on the bottom of the ordering priority. At this point some of the guests had been done eating for an hour and a half. A manager did apologize and removed one of the meals from our tab.
Just was a really poorly managed meal service. Wanted to love the place and location but they really shouldn’t take large party reservations if they can’t handle the he table. (there was 6 of us- so not that large)
View is outstanding.
Food options were limited. Chips were very greasy.
Seems they were short staffed the day we went.
Menu was different than published , chef had quit the day before. Server was surely and neglectful. Beautiful spot but they have a lot of work to do.
Limited menu, no kids menu
The rooftop has a great view and lovely servers. We did a bunch of small things and shared. Everything was delish. The drinks are strong too!
The place was fantastic we can see the beach from where we are sitting. Our server was very nice too. The only this was the food.
The Rooftop at the Pier is a great location facing Pismo Beach and being up on the rooftop provides excellent views of the beach, ocean and pier. This was not our first time and we returned for their grilled fresh fish that we had previously enjoyed. But much to my surprise they did not have any fish?? Our waiter who provided perfect service and was friendly and attentive said the menu had been adjusted. Well ok I can understand that given the past year we have all endured but to delete a fish entree from an ocean pier restaurant? Sorry but that just does not make good sense. It was a disappointment yet our lunch was still very good. The clam chowder is excellent and a chicken sandwich was tasty. Cadillac Margaritas are always good no matter where you are.
When we arrived there was nobody working at the host stand with a sign stating to wait to be seated. Ourselves and two other parties remained in the hallway waiting for someone who worked there for several minutes. Finally we tracked someone down who worked there and were sat after not even being acknowledged for about 15 minutes. Compared to what’s posted online, the menu they presented us had very few items, and only gave us a dinner menu. Nothing my kids could eat. When we asked they said it was because the printer was broken? In all we were there for one hour and only got drinks. We finally asked for the check when nobody even tried to take our food order after 45 minutes. It’s sad because this place seems to have potential but it was not a good experience. I’m hoping they are able to get more adequately staffed and bring back the bigger menu as we’d love to come back. They do have great views but service today was not it.
It took 2 hrs to get the appetizers and the entrees. Poor service. We had requested for dairy free option but the food had dairy. They forgot to bring couple appetizers and messed up the entree too. It’s the worst dining experience that I have had in years. Never will recommend any one to this place.
Extremely slow service. Ordered steak medium rare was served well done.
Great views but that is it. I ordered the Mexican candy cocktail and I don’t think there was any alcohol in it and all our meals were sub par: chowder, burger, kale salad and halibut. Views are great and nice vibe with fire pits...if you go order a glass of wine or beer and house made chips...that’s it! It could be so much better...it’s too bad!
Maria is a fabulous server. We love this place.
Well we were anxious to have some seafood as was listed on their menu via OpenTable...we got there and only 3 entrees: clam chowder (is this an entree), hamburger, or chicken. View was great so we stayed. The wait staff was very nice and accommodating.
Great service, great view, and food was good 👌🏼
-staff helped with the requests I made
-they were friendly
-view was great at sunset
-food tasted good
Great views, not to loud, limited menu due to Covid-19. Service was good and timely.
Service was not great. Waitress forgot about our waters, did not ask the choice of side dish and we ended up with a lunch plate full of chips. Not get a customer receipt of the bill, stating that they were saving paper?! There were only a few customers so It was not due to being busy. Just not great customer service.
The view was nice on the rooftop.
The view was super pretty. The waitress was so friendly , food was good :).. we will come back!
The restaurant is special because of the location. The rooftop has a lovely view and the heaters are close enough to the tables to keep warm. The corkage fee is huge ($25.00) which will prevent me from going back as I like to bring a nice bottle of local wine. The food was very small portions, but was well prepared.
We had the grilled sea bass, which was OUTSTANDING. The whole fish was served deboned. The salsa verde was perfectly salty and garlicy. The sauteed sweet pea tendrils were a welcome variation from the spinach that is normally served.
It was our first meal since March 2020, we will be back.
Maria was wonderful. Super attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back!
Took our food over an hour to come even though there were hardly any people there. Our server wasn't enthusiastic about anything. The heaters weren't working. Just all around bad experience for us.
This is a really beautiful view and a low key place to hang out and enjoy good well priced food and drinks
The Mexican Candy drink was sooo yummy. So was the homemade chips and onion dip. Turkey sandwich was delicious. Fish sandwich could use a higher quality fish. The chocolate creme pot dessert was so heavenly. Caramel and nuts! We love local so we will definitely be back! Cannot beat the view. I mean it is the best in Pismo.
