Love the ambiance and farm to table !!
Overall great vibe and delicious food. The vegetarian option of the terrine wasn’t that great. Otherwise, inventive menu and wine selections and we loved it. Great for entertaining out of town guests, including meat-loving foodies!
My girlfriend and I sat at the bar for dinner service on a Saturday night. This was our third time there. The new dishes were fantastic while the classics such as the cheese plate and garden salad never failed to yield new combinations of flavors, leaving us wanting more. The service staff was warm and professional; always having a nice comment and smoothly transitioning courses. We can’t wait to go again!
Delicious food! The restaurant was very cute - it has exposed brick walls and some tables were dramatically hung from ceiling. Lovely setting. We will definitely revisit!!
Food was great, both chicken fried steak and scallops! Brussels sprouts could have been cooked a bit more, but that’s personal preference. Everything including the service was amazing. And the Tempranillo was awesome!
We enjoy the atmosphere and the personal attention given. The food is always of the highest quality and taste. We always have the opportunity to try something new each time we go.
Eating at Ronin was eating and breathing a piece of Texas and Bryan culture.
The food (oh the vegetables!!) came alive in our mouths with a freshness that hints you aren’t far from the source. The waitstaff was delighted to share the stories of the local farmers who grow and raise the food. I loved this aspect—Ronin is fostering connection to our farmers and food, but also to Bryan history and to our community. The restaurant preserves the century-old Ice House on Main while bringing it new life. The communal tables, warm atmosphere, and hospitality made us feel like long-awaited friends who have finally returned home.
Ronin is not just a place to eat—it’s a dining experience you don’t want to miss!
Ronin is great for date night. The farm-to-table food is very good. The menu is small, but interesting. The décor and vibe of the restaurant is what makes it excellent. It's beautifully rustic. And the staff is very professional.
Great ambiance & service! We liked the location and the concept.
Two of us went for a special Sunday brunch. We ordered the Country Steak and Eggs and the Huevos Rancheros. Both were fresh and tasty but portions were quite small for the price paid. We were really looking forward to plentiful, healthy vegetables and were disappointed at tiny portions. Also, the tortillas were not whole grain and were quite small. We would suggest adding to the plates more than reducing the price. Whole grains, more vegetables and starting with a small cup of soup while waiting for the meal would add to the experience. The coffee was good. Service was outstanding. The music was a bit loud especially for a Sunday brunch. This restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere revitalizing the old ice house building. This could be a great addition to Bryan downtown with a few tweaks that create good value for the meal. As is, we will likely seek other venues that offer healthier choices and better value.
Absolutely amazing experience at Ronin! Their food is creative and delicious. The restaurant itself is beautiful and a great addition to Downtown Bryan. We will definitely be back!
When I eat out I look for organic restaurants. This is more than organic, it is fresh and nutrient dense. If I don’t want to cook myself, this is where I would go!
This was my third visit to Ronin. The food and service has only gotten better. It was a great experience!
Very unique atmosphere and menu that is refreshing.
We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch. Loved the atmosphere and the food was delicious. Have told many friends they need to go
The chicken-fried steak was AMAZING! Great ambiance and drink menu.
A nice upscale find in the heart of downtown Bryan. Thanks for taking what appears to be a classic (old) building and turning it into an eclectic dining experience. Tables suspended from the ceiling (novel idea - and well executed). Tables were set up for a communal dining experience with your fellow diners, but it wasn't crowded so we were able to have a nice visit with friends. If you go, be aware that you you may be sitting right next to your fellow diners. The owner was friendly and gave us a bit of the history of the restaurant. Will definitely be back. Thanks for a great evening.
Best service we have had in B/CS in years! We will be back!
So glad we found Ronin to celebrate my son’s graduation! Great service and unique menu with very tasty food!
Server behind the bar was drinking. Our salad took 40 mins to come out. And he was drinking wine.
Delicious food. Wonderful place. Great atmosphere. Owners and staff our the best!
Honestly one of the best restaurants I have ever been too. Wonderful ambiance, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the food was absolutely amazing.
The food was excellent and the staff was very attentive and gave great service.
Farm to market. Great fresh food, nice wine selection, pleasant helpful service & mice Rustic-Texan atmosphere. They also accommodated my wife’s gluten allergen with great professionalism.
Dining in Ronin never disappoints. The freshness and quality of ingredients stands out in each dish. They always stay true to their core values of providing delicious, healthy, and sustainably grown food. Their delicious plates in addition to the modern rustic atmosphere and friendly staff truly make Ronin shine. This place is a treasure in BCS.
❤️❤️❤️❤️! Amazing and will go back!!!!
Ronin rarely misses a step with its changing farm to table menu. The new lamb stew is actually a deconstructed dish of perfectly braised lamb and very slightly bitter, fresh greens with a side of cornbread in the bowl that easily crumbled into the other components. Elegant comfort food! My dining partner had the quail but had it grilled rather than sautéed, and it was equally delicious. Wine list is a bit pricey, but well selected.
This was our third visit to Ronin, and, as usual, it did not disappoint. The food is always inventive, cooked perfectly and beautifully plated. Our server was attentive and had great recommendations. We received an incorrect entree order, but the situation was remedied quickly and the food was so phenomenal that neither of us minded one bit. Our server sent us home with a box of (truly incredible) cookies at the end of the meal. Ronin is my number one recommendation for restaurants in the BCS area, and we will definitely be back many more times!
The atmosphere was fresh, the staff was accommodating, and everyone seemed knowledgeable and passionate about the food & beverages.
They raise food sustainably on their own farm! Everything was delicious. You should definitely make a trip to Ronin.
We love Ronin - both restaurant and the events at the Farm. The food is amazing and the owners are simply the most authentic, wonderful people.
Went for a late thanksgiving get-together on Saturday night. I sat in the bar area while the A&M game played-whoop! What a classy place to watch the game! They turned on the sound for us, but it was quiet enough that other guests not watching the game weren’t disturbed.
The food was INCREDIBLE. We started with the bread and cheese plate which was so filling but great. I got the scallops (fresh as can be!) with roasted sweet potatoes from the farm, bok choy, and a side salad. It was so refreshing. My cousin had the grouper which came with a beautiful white sweet potato. And my other cousin had the acorn squash gnocchi! It was rich and delicious. The soufflé and Ice cream were my favorite part!! I ate way too much but it was worth every bite.
Service was impeccable. The bartender was super nice and attentive.
I’ll definitely be back soon to eat at ronin!!
We had family in town and wanted them to try Ronin's since we have been and loved it. The food was amazing as always and the atmosphere was wonderful. We tried the beignet's and OMG they were so good they make your taste-buds dance with joy!! The sweet potatoes are in season right now and are super sweet, they could be a dessert!! I'm glad we had reservations as the staff was hopping with a full house that day. We just love the community/open table seating at Ronin's, it gives you the opportunity to meet people and we did just that! We had a great conversation which ended in comparing Aggie rings among our two groups, graduating years ranging from 1964-2015. Amazing day!! Thank you Ronin and staff for another great experience!!
Went in for a very busy Sunday morning brunch, and couldn’t be more impressed. Our server Lauren was very attentive and friendly, despite how full the restaurant was. We had the French toast, chicken fried steak, and huevos rancheros. Everything was delicious. Will be back for dinner soon.
Love this place! The owners are great and the food is delicious!
Great farm to table food. Wonderful wine/ beer pairing.
The brick and wood built restaurant coupled with the assorted collection of vintage plates and a seasonal, finely cooked menu transports the eater to a blissful time and place one that is reminiscent of an intimate holiday meal with family where every aspect of the meal has been labored over all day by experienced and crafty hands and the smell permeates the atmosphere. Reading the menu proved difficult only in deciding what to actually eat. The variety of flavor profiles allowed for every craving and tasty-inclination, and assures the restaurant to hold up to repeated visitings. Especially as the seasons change and the menu with it, it allows for multiple visits in shorter intervals than other restaurants with more fixed menus. Chef Brian Light’s diverse cooking background and fresher than usual ingredients appeals to all palates. Also contributing to the premium quality of the food, is the execution of the menu by his young and talented cooks eager to share with people food they truly believe to be incredible. The drink menu showed to be refreshingly and meticulously symbiotic with the cuisine menu, aiming to show that the drink is part of the meal experience as well and can enhance the flavors of the food as well as stand out as its own element rather than simply providing a stiff cocktail to sip on. Amanda Light and the rest of the front staff were very warm and welcoming upon entering the restaurant, impressing an instant aura of comfort. The pace of the meal was handled gracefully by our waitress where we never needed to track her down and also never made us feel rushed. She had a deep knowledge of the drinks and food and helped guide us when we were having trouble making up our minds. I will be returning very soon and as frequently as I can, and I will be recommending to all that I can.
Food and service was outstanding. We visited on a game weekend Friday night and they did run out of 2 menu items which was sad, but the other menu items were very good.
It wasn't crowded at all, yet service was very slow. Scallops weren't adequately cleaned so they were gritty. Potatoes were overcooked and over spiced. The cheese plate was wonderful.
As always, Ronin was very good to excellent and guests were pleased
