I felt very comfortable with the social distancing at the restaurant. Masks were required when entering and leaving.

I understand the restrictions having a limited menu and all. However the bread was hard and tasted old. The ice tea was not good and tasted old. I asked the server for some fresh bread and also to bring water since the tea was not good. I could see the cook (manager) in the kitchen while he was cooking he had his cell phone up on his shoulder talking on it. I know that you can not have salt and pepper on the tables but when I asked for some, she brought me 2 little open to go containers like you put dressing in, how sanitary is that? Why not give out the little to go packs? The cook/manager came by our table to talk about the issues. I told him about the bread and he disagreed with me saying that it was not old. Then the tea he told me was made an hour before. When I asked about the salt and pepper and the to go packs he told me that they didn't have to go packs. Now you would think he wouldn't argue with the customer but maybe apologize for the items, not tell me I am wrong (in so many words). When our sever brought out the "fresh" bread it was hard as a rock (I banged it on the table) now I can deal with a crusty bread but the inside tasted bad, couldn't soak up enough olive oil to make it taste good.

It took very long to get the food. The asparagus I ordered finally got to the table after I was finished with my entrée.
The food was ok, but the cocktail I had was not. I like my cocktails the traditional way. Don't add anything to a perfectly created recipe.
I will cross this place off my list of restaurants to eat at, because it wasn't the first negative dining experience I had there.

Granted it was Valentine's Day, but even with our reservation we were going to have to wait 30-45 minutes. We opted to sit at the bar area (open seating). They had one server running between 6-8 tables. Service was fair, but it wasn't her fault - she was just overloaded. Our food took a lot of time to come out. Think we would have done better to wait the 30-45 minutes for a regular table. The quality of food was good. It used to be one of our favorite places to go, but it seems like they have slipped a little. They've gone from great / excellent to just good. Overall value is "eh". With the cost of eating out going up everywhere, I think I have higher expectations and am a little more critical.

When we arrived, we were told that there was some kind of error in communication, that they were overbooked, and would have to wait 40 minutes. Not sure how any of that happens on Valentine’s Day. There were at least 4 open tables where we were seated to wait. After ridiculously having to wait after having a reservation, our waitress was great. I could tell she was having a rough time with a lot of angry customers, and was handling it well. However, I ordered steak and potatoes, and didn’t get potatoes. So, while we had a good time, they need to get things together.

Had a reservation and still had to wait 45 mins to be seated. The bartender was awesome. Finally got seated and the took 45 mins for food even though people who ordered and sat down after us were eating. Once food finally came the macaroni bites were cold... didn’t even get our second appetizer until I told them to cancel it. Once our food finally came out my noodles weren’t cooked and my husbands was ice cold. Never got a refill of water. Just a horrible experience.

I thought the food could be better. It was cold when I got my plate. Plus they ran out of stuffed mushrooms which was one of the reasons I made the reservation at Macaroni Grill so that stunk as well. I didn't have a refill for awhile which is understandable because it was a busy night but it just stunk not having a beverage for awhile.

Okay, so I really hate to do this but, the whole affair was horrid. I booked on OpenTable early in the week for Valentine's Day. It was our 29th Anniversary. We hadn't been to Macaroni Grill in years. I'll focus on one of about 5 things that went wrong.It started off on the wrong foot when I asked for a glass of house cabernet. It wasn't served in a wine glass, but what looked like an empty candle jar. The glass was dirty, so I asked for a replacement. During our meal I asked our waiter for another house cabernet, and he brought out what looked like the same first dirty glass! I showed him the glass and asked for a clean glass. He brought another ,profusely apologized. When we left, my husband showed me our receipt. He charged us $18.00 for a glass of Robert Mondavi, when I specifically said house cabernet. My husband, being the good guy, just paid without arguing about the charge.

Food was meh! Delivered an hour after it was ordered, luke warm. Waiter apologized but said they kept running out of pasta.Husband ordered lobster ravioli, which was plain and not worth the$22 bucks. I ordered the eggplant parmesan which tasted like it was cooked on a propane grill. As we walked out, the cooking area had the same strong odor my meal had.

Overall a really bad experience. No longer the establishment it once was. I think I will be calling the Selma Health department to look into the establishment for health code violations.

the restaurant DID NOT honor our reservation. reservations with open table was not honored...it meant nothing to use the app. i ultimately left the restaurant. i was told everyone had a reservation. the restaurant basically used your app to attract people and make them wait...i have never seen an open table reservation being misused as i did on my visiit. It was terrible

Restaurant overbooked reservations on valentine’s day. 50+ people waiting hours for tables. Very bad business practice and really just heartless of them to ruin this holiday celebration for so many couples. I assume that they are going out of business like the other two branches recently did in San Antonio and are just trying to cash in as much as possible before that happens, customers be damned.

We expected the same service as the year before. Even with a reservation we waited 45 minutes to be seated. They seemed very disorganized! They ran out of mushrooms and wine glasss.! Otherwise our waitperson was great!

The whole evening was just ok. Their kitchen was behind by at least 45 mins. The couple next to us had their meal comped by the manager because it took so long. We had a good time anyway, but they definitely had a problem in the kitchen. Our server was a good guy and did his best, but his hands were tied. The food was ok, too. Not great, but ok. You could tell they were struggle to make good food and still get it out quickly. My steak had good flavor, but was a little tough and dry. My wife's dish had good flavor, but was way over the top on spicy seasoning for the pasta. It should have gone smoother than that for a Valentine's day date for which we had reservations. Our reservation was for 645pm and we were seated at 715. We got our food at nearly 8pm.

Spent 3 hours there. It was valentines so we gave more grace than normal however still was horribly managed. Reservation at 6:15, was seated at 7:05. Was not greeted to even be acknowledged for 15-20 mins. Had to end up being taken care of by the host because our supposed waitress ignored us. Sat for 45 mins for food. Sat for another 20 after finishing for dessert. Left at 9:00. Was so distracted by the management and wait staff being angry and fighting and complaining to even enjoy the atmosphere. Was just a bad experience.

My wife and I both had pasta dishes and they were both overcooked where the pasta had started to break down and was very gummy. We didn't say anything and were just glad to leave as service was also slow. We had reservations and it still took almost 15 minutes past our reservation to be seated even though we arrived a little early. Having looked at the menu ahead of time, we ordered as soon as our server appeared, about 10 minutes after being seated. We then waited almost 45 minutes for our meal and they brought the wrong dish to my wife, apologized and I handed my back, so our food would come out together. They apologized and brought our food out shortly after and explained they grabbed someone else's dish to get ours to us as we ordered first. That would explain why we were just glad to leave and happier yet to not return.

We have been going to this restaurant for years. They used to be able to handle crowds.

Friday night - we had an early reservation. We got our appetizer quickly and waited for an hour for our food. I had to wave at our waitress because she didn't come by to give us status updates. When she came by she told us that the kitchen was 45 minutes behind. We would have appreciated it if she came by to see how we were and told us what was going on.

Food- my salmon was excellent but my husband's steak was under seasoned and cool.

We probably won't go back again.

We have been coming to this Romano's location for more than 12 years, always enjoyed it - that's why we were willing to drive more than 30 minutes each way to get there. We will not be coming back. The servers were stressed, short in their answers, having a reservation through OpenTable didn't mean anything, the food was barely warm, not hot. I often have the Penne Rustica and they butchered it this time - it was mostly just pasta with some sauce thrown on it. Also, the place was freezing - we had to get our coats from the car and wrap it around our legs during dinner. From the looks of things, this location is going out of business.

We have been here twice on holidays. This location was not as ready for us. We had three different staff wait on us. Appears that waitress assigned arrived late and was not aware what we had ordered. Food was great like the Plano location. They did seat us right away.

The food & service was great. I had the Mama's trio & it was great. The Lobster Bisque was outstanding.
I love that it is all you can eat for only 2.50. My husband had the Sausage rigatoni & he loved it. We took half home. our server was very good & was attentive.

It's been a while since I've been there. It was very empty for a Friday evening, which should have been a sign. The restaurant itself was freezing (likely because they had the AC set for a full house). There were more servers than people and they were clearly bored, yet our server failed to check up on us (one of her two tables) often. Food overall was meh at best. Tomato basil soup had the consistency of spaghetti sauce. The chicken dish we ordered had very little chicken or mushrooms. I won't return, which is clearly the decision many others have made as well.

I have been to Macaroni Grill before however not this location. We went for their special mother's Day brunch and had a reservation. It didn't seem like they were really ready to serve anyone as things were still being arranged and bathrooms still being cleaned, etc. Our server was extremely unfamiliar with the menu and service was lacking. We ended up being charged an adult portion for my three year olds meal (which we ordered the kids portion of - literally off the limited menu of about four items) which was sort of the feather in the cap for an already disappointing experience. Everything was just very sub par. Aside from not being hot, the food was good but I would not return just for that. Bathroom floors were still drying when we arrived and my daughter slipped and fell twice. There are too many great places to eat in San Antonio where they have great food and great service to spend money at a place lacking in even good service. The one thing I will say is that the manager did visit our table twice and we didn't really vocalize our disappointment. I sort of felt there was nothing that could really make it better - we just wanted to pay and get on with our day.
