This restaurant is a hidden jewel. We pass the sign almost every time we drive on Tamiami Trail. We finally decided to make a reservation. What an unexpected surprise. The people are very pleasant. The waiter was very friendly. The food was very tasty. The place is so elegant inside and outside. We will definitely go there again and we’ll bring friends.
We had our little corner table and the evening could not have been nicer. The escargot was to die for and the wedge salad was delicious. Our entrees, veal scallopini and snapper also were excellent.
Haven't eaten there in 20 years and was pleasantly surprised to find the same great service and quality food. Upscale service is a thing of the past in most places today.
This is by far our favorite restaurant in town and for good reason. They spare nothing to make sure your experience is the best.
AJ is an outstanding server!
It was just a casual night out, but, Roessler’s made it feel like a Special Occasion
As always a wonderful experience. I started with the Vichyssoise, my wife the Lobster and Crab Bisque. Both delicious. We both dined on the Crispy Duck. A favorite of bot, and rarely have we ever had any to equal this. Our server Mark was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is still maintaining a 50% capacity by choice. Further evidence that the safety and well being of their clientele is of the upmost importance.
We celebrated our anniversary at Roessler's because of covid and and reputation. I had not been there for several years. The surroundings and dining were lovely. The menu had excellent choices. Our server very friendly and helpful with questions. This has become our No. 1 restaurant choice for special occasions.
Wonderful meal and beautiful property.
Overall the food was pretty good. The fish special had good flavor but was a bit dry. Those in our party that got the duck really enjoyed it. Our server seemed a bit flustered and overwhelmed at times even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy. We’ve been going here for years and will continue to do so.
Friends from Tampa traveled to dine here with us, and they were not disappointed. One of them, who has traveled and dined many places, commented that it may be the best restaurant at which he's ever eaten! Julia took excellent care of us, with just the right level of attention, and the outdoor seating that we requested was absolutely perfect. Roessler's is just a bit out of the way, and has thrived through a devoted following and word of mouth for many years. We are grateful that they have remained able to provide us with such a wonderful dining experience.
Wonderful evening starting with very helpful bartender to wine selection and then a great dinner server. Food was excellent.
Second visit in three weeks - perfect in every regard. Great menu - diverse yet fits on a single page. Onion soup is awesome as a starter. I had the Steak Diane, my wife the salmon and a friend the Schnitzel Holstein. All were cooked as expected and delicious. The key lime pie and cream burlee closed out the meal just right.
Service on both occasions was exceptional - attention to detail, stopped by the table enough to check on things and fill water and wine glasses, without going overboard. Both servers, both this and our prior visit, we knowledgable of each item on the menu and were happy to check with the chef on a few concerns my wife has due to allergies.
We brought wine each time, gladly paying the $25 corkage fee so that we could enjoy our wines with a special dinner. However, I will note that their wine list is extensive with a number of wines at a very reasonable price from inexpensive to high end. The markup was far less than you would expect to see in an upscale ale restaurant - less than twice retail. Rombauer Chardonnay was $58, Caymus cab at $110 ($85 retail) and Phelp's Insignia was $225 (somewhere between $185 and up). Next time, we will try a wine from their list. And there will be a next time.
Always an excellent experience; the food is always awesome and the staff friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. My wife had a seafood dish and I had the rack of lamb; both were fabulous. Our pre-dinner drinks arrived quickly and were also excellent. Desert (bananas foster) was made in the hall at appropriate social distance where we could watch the proceedings (pre-pandemic this desert would be made table-side).
On the evening we visited, it turned cold outside much quicker than expected; the staff was very accommodating and moved us into an inside dining room with no fuss. They even took the extra step to space out people throughout the restaurant to make sure nobody was within even 20 feet of one-another. For example, they were careful to protect my wife and I in a quiet dining area we had all to ourselves for the duration of our meal.
We will definitely be back -- and bring our friends.
Very enjoyable dining experience. Will definitely be back.
Great food and service. A bit loud at times. Always a great experience
it was a very pleasant place. We came on Wednesday night, a day before Thanksgiving, so it was very quite. The food was very good. Fresh. Everything tasted good. The waiters were very nice and accomodating. Great place. Highly recommended.
the menu, the staff and the ambiance are excellent. Old Florida at it's very best.
First time back this season. In spite of the pandemic it’s still the very best dining around and with the outdoor terrace it is even more delightful than before.
By far our favorite and look forward to dinner Thanksgiving evening with them....
Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou 👊
Had dinner here last week. After reading the reviews I wanted to be impressed. Well the food was good but not excellent as expected. Lamb chops were nice, escargot tasty abd the seafood bouillabaisse was average. Actually our waiter was matter of the fact. He was all business and zero personality. Had to ask for his name. (James). Felt like we were a bother and he couldn't wait to dump the check on the table. Normally, these days we tip very generously, 25-30%. It took a lot to leave him 12%.
Great food. Forgot our server’s name but she was very nice. Portions were fair. Excellent portion size. Great presentation. Didn’t like I was charged for “ soda “ when I ordered a Tito’s and soda!
Lovely garden view.Best to get there before sunset. The service was better when we had a 6:00 pm reservation two weeks ago. This time we had a 7:00 pm reservation and it was more crowded and noisy. The server forgot little things and had to go back to get them - for example - vodka served neat instead on on the rock as requested, no lime for my sparkling water, no anchovies on my husbands Caesar Salad even though he specifically asked for for them. These things should not happen.
Delicious food, great outdoor dining space, excellent service. You won't be disappointed!!
Arrived at Roessler’s at 6pm for reservations at 6:30pm. We were greeted and taken to our table immediately. Started with Dirty Martinis and Escargot. Both were delicious. Decided on the special which was halibut. It was good but a tad too dry.
Service was excellent, ambiance was quiet. Tables were separated. Beautiful restaurant. We’ve been coming for years and always enjoy it. Even the 1 hour drive is manageable.
The whole experience was amazing. Sitting outside in the beautiful garden area, enjoying first class food, engaging with our waitress and chatting with Claus - all made for a wonderful evening.
The food and service are exceptional. We have been going twice a month.
Always have had a great meal there. They never disappoint with the meals and the service.
This was our first time dining at this restaurant. We were celebrating our 44th wedding anniversary. We had mentioned this when we made the reservation but nothing was said to congratulate us. Not a big deal but it would’ve been nice to acknowledge. As far as the food service atmosphere drinks from appetizers to dessert I would definitely give a five star rating! We have been in this area for just over a year and this is one of the best meals that we’ve had! We will definitely go back!
Wonderful meal, great service, beautiful ambiance (outdoor seating) and felt safe sitting outside during COVID. $13 martinis were a little pricey, but great.
Staff welcoming and friendly. Mark served our excellent meal, and the evening was magic!
James was a perfect waiter. He was very attentive but did not hover over us. Drink prices were a bit high compared to some places. A great place to go for special occasions only.
Always a good choose for dinner. I enjoyed the Bouillabaisse. Their wines by the glass have a good selection. Have a great dessert with bananas Foster.
We’ve been going to Roesslers for years - always an excellent meal & special occasion!
Discovered Steak Diane at the Jockey Club in Washington D.C. 50 years ago and haven't been able to find it since. Was delighted to find it offered here, and it was every bit as delicious as I remembered. The Crispy Main Lobster Tail appetizer and my husband's Snapper Pontchartrain were also top-notch!! It was well worth the trip down from Wesley Chapel! And we'll be coming back.
Start to finish the best service and meal. Can’t wait to go back.
Great food. James did a good Job serving.
What a lovely spot to enjoy dinner whether it be in a rainstorm or sunny as the view is peaceful and beautiful. We were cordially greeted by the owner (I think) and James our server was excellent from the salad to the Bananas Foster.
It was our first time and we will definitely be back. Excellent food and service.
