About this restaurant

  • Good for groups
  • Good for special occasions
  • Lively
Rococo St Kilda's atmosphere is both seductive and vibrant, bustling and intimate. The place where Rococo’s signature antipasti boards and simple Italian flavours first came to be, it continues to attract diners from all over Melbourne some 10 years later. Set amongst some of Melbourne’s most loved sites – The Palais, The National Theatre and St Kilda beach to name a few – our expanded restaurant space is bigger than ever, yet remains cosy and flexible, with various spaces available for functions and plenty of nooks for private dining or close conversations.
Join us for a meal of many courses; a hearty breakfast to start the day, a jovial work lunch, a family get together or just a glass of wine to celebrate the end of a day. Oh and our Wood Fire Pizzas are a must. Enjoy the authenticity, quality and warm hospitality of modern Italy right here in Melbourne.
Al fresco outside seating also available.

We had lunch at Rococo St Kilda this Mother’s Day. The mushroom arancini were excellent, and we also enjoyed the meatballs. But the rest of the meal was boring. The mushroom pizza, usually our favourite, was disappointing, just basic cup mushrooms with none of the rich, mixed varieties like porcini that you’d expect at this price point. It lacked flavour, as did the Veneto salami pizza and the prawn pasta with Calabrian chilli, which was missing the actual chilli, basil (dill instead), and even salt. We left a lot of food uneaten, but staff didn’t even ask why - a level of care you’d expect from a good restaurant.

Food was average considering the price. Pizza tasted burnt all throughout. Couldn’t stomach it. No normal beers like Carlton fraught or anything. Food was very expensive

I had a great experience with my family at Rococo in St Kilda. We ordered all were delicious, fresh, and full of flavour. The staff were friendly and welcoming, with quick and attentive service that made the meal even more enjoyable. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Highly recommend for a relaxed and satisfying Italian meal in a great location.

Went to Rococos for dinner. Food was nice and the lady that served and took our order was excellent. My only complaint was that the main courses came out while we were still finishing our entrees. I told the 2 waiters we weren't ready for our main course as they could see we were still eating. One of them asked us if we wanted the main meals taken back and kept warm. This was really disappointing, firstly, the communication amongst the staff not to tell the kitchen we hadn't finished our entrees was terrible. Secondly, food should never be taken back as it gets cold. Disappointing for a popular and busy restaurant.
