Went for happy hour oysters got some of each all taste pretty similar lacked flavors
The ceviche was made with a tomato broth, not a fan it overpowered all the other flavors
Drinks were great atmosphere is good sat outside staff was friendly
Maybe will give it another chance and have an entree
The food was terrible. I would not eat here again- it felt like it was old and unattended. Kitchen staff weren’t wearing masks and were tasting food. Everyone was very kind but we won’t be back.
Great Place to eat... We love raw Oysters and they specialize in seafood...
Joleen is an excellent Chef and Todd is a Great GM
The service is excellent and the ambience is good including outdoor dining ...
It’s a weekly favorite..
Tuesday is half price wine night and $1.00 oysters ...
Love it ...
Always love going here. Outdoor porch is a great size and heated right now. Oysters are amazing. Weekend brunch has so many wonderful options!
The most amazing staff with the best food!
Very good food and outstanding service
Great table, amazing service. We both got burgers, which you would not necessarily associate with somewhere known for high end seafood, and they were terrific. We go there quite a bit for the seafood (and very interested/well-chosen wine list!), and know that it’s top notch, but the burgers were a very pleasant surprise. Would recommend for sure.
Great Great..Great..service was very good...ambiance was great as well..Would definitely return soon!!!
My boyfriend and I went there for Valentines Day and it was amazing! Service, food, atmosphere, everything was perfect! Can’t wait to go back!
We tried rock salt for the first on Saturday night and we had a WONDERFUL experience! The food was outstanding and we had great service. The enclosed patio was a little cold but the red wine warmed us right up 😂 will definitively come back!
The food and service was excellent. We will definitely return on our next visit to Charlotte.
Very noisy; server was not knowledgeable about wines. Spaetzel item on menu was very misleading. Did not contain any spaetzel!!
Before the pandemic i went frequently - once a month, approx. or more.
Not sure I’ll go back anytime soon.
I chose Rock Salt for my birthday dinner with my husband and a son who flew in from Colorado for a visit. The oysters were lovely, sand the other food items (chowder, burger, salad - we like to order several things and share) were great.
The bartender was a little too chatty but the drinks were good.
Our only disappointment was the cheesecake. We should’ve asked to see it before we ordered it. After asking repeatedly if it was a “dense, New York style cheesecake“ and being told that it was “very rich and dense” it was disappointingly fluffy/creamy.
Wonderful dining experience as usual! Cannot wait until next time!
Great oysters, smoked trout and hamburger. Great friendly staff. Easy to get a reservation.
Joleen Park is the best chef in Charlotte, North Carolina.
This is not my opinion. It is an absolute fact.
We had a phenomenal meal!
We went here for my birthday and they did everything to make it a night to remember!
Do yourself a favor and get the smoked trout dip. It is truly incredible!
The oysters Rockefeller are the best I've ever had and that's saying something because it's one of my favorite items on any menu. The cured tuna appetizer is one of the best things I've eaten in Charlotte, period.
The trout entrée was fresh and pan-seared. Light, but crispy and set over a Swiss chard and lentil salad. It was perfection on a plate!
Everyone regalled at their entree choices. Even my brother who is a particularly picky eater, had the crab cakes and told me no less than three times while we were at the table that they were the best he had ever had.
We finished with the Beet Panna Cotta. I will say, I was very skeptical because I am not a fan of beets whatsoever. However, not only will I make an exception for this one dish, but I will be back to Rock Salt purely for this dessert.
Kat was our server and she was incredible! Fantastic personality, great sense of humor! I truly can't say enough good things about her :-)
However, I must reiterate my opening statement. In a city known for its plethora of culinary artists, Chef Joleen Park stands alone as queen of the mountain. Her incredible palette and attention to detail, along with her flavor combinations and limitless creativity set her above the rest.
Joleen Park is the best chef in Charlotte, NC.
Oysters and ceviche were excellent!!! My dining partners really enjoyed the crab cakes!
we had such a great meal new yrs eve, came back and did not disappoint! nick was terrific, the manager checked in with us and was interested in our feedback . love that there are local ciders on the menu. ate on the enclosed porch, another wonderful meal and experience, we were also glad to see they were busy, looking forward to coming back soon
Excellent service and wonderful oysters. Can’t wait to return
Excellent oysters, great trout and service. Will definitely go back!
Told my wife, may be the best overall meal I've eaten in Charlotte. Crag cakes, tile fish, trout spread, roasted potatoes, sweet potato latkes... Thanks Todd GM and Nick server.
Happy Hour oysters can’t be beat!
Nick and Manager are awesome. Quick easy and professional service with consistent quality food.
Shrimp and grits were amazing and so was the dessert!
Casey was great! We sat down at 5:55pm and happy hour ended at 6pm & he was able to get us $1 oysters before happy hour was over. We had ourselves 5 course meal and the food was amazing.
Love Rock Salt. It's a great Covid Friendly place to enjoy a drink or a meal. Great service. Patio is enclosed in plastic with heat lamps and there is an outdoor patio with just heat lamps. You can dine inside as well.
Excellent food and service. We will be back!
I had been a couple of times before with friends and had great experiences, came last minute with hubby to celebrate the end of 2020 , and had such a great time -except the hostesses mask was a bit creepy- everyone else was so pleasant and upbeat, enjoyed our fun cocktails and had great service-Casey was our server- helpful with questions and suggestions. Hubby loved his rainbowtrout and veggies, I had the park road boil, both dishes were so flavorful and not the usual. Luckily had room to share dessert-the beet panna cotta was so good, thanks for the recommendation Casey. We felt very comfortable with their handling Covid restrictions, and didn't realize the patio was enclosed, so plenty of seating options. Look forward to coming back soon!!
Oysters were delicious and the fixings really provided a great addition to the high quality options of 3 VA varieties. Great solo or date spot to enjoy the covered patio with the heat lamps.
Felt very safe with covid measures in place.
Awesome meal and service!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA+
Todd, the manager is very friendly. Nick, our waiter was terrific and very attentive.
We had a great time celebrating my husband’s birthday. We came for the oyster Happy Hour and stayed for dinner. The oysters were perfect, the scallops for dinner absolutely delicious. Service was great, very friendly and attentive without becoming overbearing . We’ll be back.
Good food, great customer service from all around, and great atmosphere.
$1.00 per oyster?!?! And oyster stew is over the top
Awesome!!!!!
Good food. A bit on the pricey side, but great place to go occasionally.
Stopped in for Sat brunch. Oysters, shrimp and grits, Benedict all delicious.Outdoor dining next to the Greenway with a French bakery across the parking lot. We will definitely return when we are in Charlotte!
This was my second time here. The first time I dined here, I was amazed at the experience. Everything from the hostess to the food was beyond great. I gave a very detailed Yelp review. This time was a complete disappointment. Almost $400 for a less than mediocre overall experience. Our waiter was dry and didn’t seem to knowledgeable of the menu. The manager failed to so much as say hello to our party even though his catering to the table closest to us was causing him several trips past our table. The food was not of the same quality as it was before. The steamed oysters were over cooked. No one acknowledged his birthday; even though it was indicated in the reservation and I also told the waiter. The broiled oysters were good, but I’m not sure we will be back. It’s sad because I told our guests how good everything was the first time and they were disappointed.
