Our server ,Tyler/Kevin, was a character.
He was funny, lively, so friendly and attentive to our needs. The food was exceptional
The food was good but for for the price we paid I expected bigger portions.
The service was outstanding. The staff was friendly and accommodating to our needs.
Good food with large portions.
Never disappointed by Rocks on the River. We stop in Savannah every time we go from Florida to North Carolina and almost always have dinner at Rocks. Great service and food.
We have been there several times. The food is always good and well done. They did run out of oysters which was disappointing however the calamari made up for it. Bohemian Salad was excellent. Terrific service.
Our meal and drinks took so long we had to keep asking if we were completely forgotten. Wait staff never even apologized or commented on the time it took. Will never go back.
Food just took a while to come out but once it did it was totally worth the wait! Sooo good! Highly recommend this place. Also loved the bar and tapas on the rooftop.
Beautiful hotel and restaurant and the shrimp and grits were to die for!
We took a group for Buds and Burgers night and chose Rocks because it was a bit more upscale than some of the other locations offering the specialty burgers. However, the burgers were all very average with low quality meat and mine was not cooked as I had requested. The fries were not even average. The server seems surprised when we asked for ketchup, and mustard....Such a lovely restaurant but it has apparently succumbed to being another tourist trap and does not care about quality for those of us that live in Savannah.
Second time going was Sunday and I was just as pleased then as I was the first time I went.
Great food, great location on river. Drinks before on the roof with view of ships on the river!!
We went for lunch when we first arrived in Savannah. The food, drinks and service were all terrible. The sangria was awful... the Coke was flat and they gave us an attitude when we asked for a new drink .
I had the pizza and it was cold. My husband and friend had the burgers which were over cooked. Our waitress was Petra and she was rude, barely spoke English and gave us an attitude when we asked for anything.
For a beautiful restaurant with great views it was seriously disappointing. Never again.
Went there on a slow Wed night. Nobody greeted us a the table for amount 10 minutes. Could not really understand the waiter. He was running around but was nice. Food was good but a little overpriced for what we got. Have been there before and had a better experience. There are so many restaurants in Savannah not sure if I would return
One big problem: ran out of catch of the day. If you're not a big crab or lobster fan and tired of salmon, you were out of luck.
Fortunately, the mushroom pizza was quite satisfactory. My wife enjoyed a unique spaetzle dinner.
Rebecca was a great server. Attentive, engaging, funny.
We sat out front and had a great view of the river and the people walking up and down the Riverwalk.
Beautiful restaurant, great food. Waitress Rachael was awesome, very friendly and was on point when we asked questions about food. She was not the hovering type which was great. Can’t wait to go back.
The hostess was quite mean and seemed annoyed when we asked for a better location away from the noisy bar. The hostess was great and very accommodating. However, we were quite underwhelmed by the food.
Party of 5 with reservations. We arrived and were told our reservation would not be honored because others would be arriving. It almost felt like a joke. Especially since the restaurant was 3 tables from being completely empty. Manager was extremely rude and got confrontational immediately as if she was expected our response to be less than respectful. May I add that our group very respectfully heard the manager out, at which point we all decided that even a change of mind from the manager would not be grounds to give this restaurant our money and business. Do not go here. This place is one you wont ever regret not visiting given the 100's of other excellent restaurants in Savannah. 100's of other restaurants that would never deny planned reservations with some type of really weird excuse such as "others will be arriving soon".
For being a high end Marriott restaurant this was a huge disappointment. Much too long to be greeted by a server after being seated, maybe 10 minutes. We literally watched other parties get up and leave due to slow greeting. Food was good and maybe they were short handed. This was on Memorial Day weekend. Nevertheless a disappointment. When they brought our check the folia was empty except for my card and a pen. Just simple incompetence.
Nice scenery sitting on the Riverwalk eating and people watching. The food is good and so is the customer service. We never miss an opportunity to eat at this location when visiting Savannah. Valet parking is an added option on the top level (Bay Street) which is very convenient.
The service was excellent. Our server was attentive and fun to talk with and answered all of our questions. She made the dinner even better!
Amazing service and the food was delicious. Try the seafood omelet at brunch!
When we arrived, we came in through the hotel. We asked where to go and they told us to take the elevator to the first floor. Upon exiting the elevator, it was unclear where we should go. We eventually determined the host stand was on the other side of the restaurant. We went to the host stand and stood for several minutes before we were helped. They marked me as a no show for my reservation, so I had to have that rectified. Food was acceptable, but nothing amazing. My waffles were room temp. My mother in law’s seafood omelette was a cheese omelette with seafood on top. Our waitress was very nice.
Right on the River, nice atmosphere and the staff was wonderful!!!
Our experience was great. The food was excellent and the service was top notch.
Best shrimp and grits I've ever had. Great vibe. They have a beautiful rooftop bar as well.
Loved the atmosphere! Service was great! Unfortunately, the food was not bad but ordinary!
Food was decent but the service was terrible. Couldn’t even keep water in our glasses and took ages to ask for our order. The view is really pretty though.
The service was good. The food was wonderful. The portions were just right, no room for dessert, though. The steak was flavorful and cooked to order. The burrata was delicious. The crab and lobster bisque was very flavorful although there was only one piece of lobster in it. It was a lovely evening.
When I came to get a table, I was told that the restaurant was full but was able to find a table online as soon as I stepped out of the restaurant.
I ordered South Carolina gold rice which was not what was in my plate. I complained and got no empathy from the manager who said that it’s just the brand (it’s actually a type of rice that I already had and the one I had on my plate was nowhere near that). I had no commercial gesture on my tab and had to ask for one. It was so little and though they just lost a customer who had enjoyed the dinners many times before there.
The food was good & the wait staff was amazing. We walked into a 1/2 empty restaurant with no reservations. The hostess said sorry reservations only right now. We were puzzled by all the open seats. So we stepped outside made reservations on open table and walked back in. There were spots open from that time on (every half hour). The hostess seemed to be very upset at our smart thinking and we got a nasty eye roll. We noticed them turning down more parties after ours. They are only hurting theirselves here. Not sure what the gain is. Why not say say check open table and better yet can I make you a reservation. I would give one star on the service if it wasn’t for the awesome wait staff!!!
Went for brunch and it took 20 minutes just to get mimosas to the table. We ordered and it took the food ONE HOUR (I’m not exaggerating) to get to the table. Our server aura never came to update us on where the food was or to let us know if the kitchen was backed up so after about 50 minutes we asked the manager what was going on because she was the only one around. She said nothing other than “I’ll be right back”. When the food finally arrived our server was in a totally different mood. She seemed mad at us for asking the manager where our food was after an hour of waiting. Our whole table has been in the service industry, we get it when the kitchen is backed up but because she wasn’t around we had to ask the manager. Also the restaurant was about 25% full so I’m not sure how they could have been that backed up. When leaving, our Uber driver asked how we liked it and he said he had the same terrible experience. Would not recommend. Will not be coming back.
We had a reservation with the intent to be seated outside because we had our dogs with us and they told us they were not seating outside due to the weather however one of their servers named Alycin agreed to serve of us. Our food was amazing and so was she. Alycin was a true professional. We try to dine at this location whenever we are in town. It is my pleasure to recommend Rocks on the River.
Requests were not taken into account. Very disappointed. Menu was not much to choose from.
We had to ask for a Server after waiting for 10 min’s until we had ask. The serve stayed piled hiding in a corner. The money you pay was not worth the wait. Bad customer service I would not recommend to anyone. I felt cheated out of what was suppose to be a special date night.
Our experience at Rocks on the River could not have been better. We happened to meet the restaurant manager, John Weeks, in the elevator. He personally took us to the rooftop so we could have a drink before dinner, and assured us he would let the restaurant know we were there. He couldn't have been nicer! At the restaurant, we had a superb waiter, Michael, who was the perfect combination of attentiveness, friendliness, knowledge about the menu. Plus, he surprised us by bringing a lava cake to celebrate my birthday! The food was outstanding; compliments to the chef!! Every item was delicious, and the portions were large. The guys took half of their meals home with us, and they each had a tasty and hearty lunch the next day, and commented once again about how delicious the meals were. Rocks on the River at the Bohemian Hotel was the perfect ending to a fabulous day in Savannah!
It was a very pleasant restaurant with wonderful service. We got pizza that my daughter and I both loved!
The place is very nice just in the river street. The service took too long to serve the food for the brunch (we had already drank the coffee and mimosa) and then also took very long to bring the check and charge the credit card. Should definitely improve service and also value for money.
I was disappointed in Rocks on the River. It's in the Bohemian Hotel with is a Marriott property so I expected a little more as I am a loyal Marriott (now Bonvoy) member. The service was not good, very forgetful and just not communicative. They were also out of LOTS of things. Out of fruit for kids meals, a beer I ordered, one of the specials (to be expected), even out of crayons for the kids. It just seemed like every third thing we looked at or ordered was out. Don't think I'll be back. So many more places to eat in Savannah.
