   We chose Rockfish for the view of the harbor and being on the water. The view was great but the food and drinks were just mediocre. Pricey food in a touristy area, I wouldn’t recommend it. The server, though, was very attentive and did his best to please us and was quite entertaining.

   Delicious food with great views. The food is presented really pretty. It has the best view on the wharf. Took my mom for mother's day and it was not crowded at all. Although the parking was crowded due to parking lot construction. Great servers as well. It's my favorite spot at least the wharf. We come often. The only thing that has changed is that they no longer serve complimentary bread and butter. I hope they bring it back.

   I’ve dined at Rockfish Harbor Grill several times since it first opened and there are some consistent things about the restaurant experience and some inconsistent things that I have observed. First the quality of the food has degraded to typical ‘wharf food’ found in most restaurants on Monterey’s tourist wharf. When Rockfish Harbor first opened the quality of food was definitely better. Although the food is ok it’s disappointing to see it no longer be a standout on the wharf. Second, the time from placing an order for a cocktail to receiving it has always seemed quite long. Food comes far faster than alcoholic beverages (and we only order one round). The view of the harbor with the boats moored or moving about is quite nice. Finally, Service is fast, attentive, and very friendly - a big plus for this restaurant.

   On a family trip to Monterey and made a booing here through OpenTable app. The location is beautiful, menu great for families, and service welcoming. The food was so delicious; I think there wasn’t one empty plate left. It was a little noisy but expected since we were seated by a Prom party. No worries. We enjoyed the food and view.    Very good food. Excellent service. Special of the day (sea bass) was really special. Servers at all levels were welcoming, helpful, prompt but not rushed. Beautiful location with views of the harbor. We look forward to eating there again.

   I explained that I had food allergies and that I would get very sick from them. The sever was extremely understanding of my situation, however when the food came out I ate some of it and minutes later I became very ill and my friend tasted it and found it had been contaminated with tons of butter which I cannot have because of dairy.

    Everything was wonderful. Britney is a beautiful hostess. The service was great and the food amazing and fresh. We had a large group (13 people) and we were well taken care of! Definitely recommend!

    Went for a sunset dinner to celebrate my birthday. Very poor service from our waiter. The bus boy and other waiters tried their best to make up for his inexcusable behavior. We did enjoy the beautiful cotton candy skies and otters playing in the harbor. The food was subpar at best and some items never even made it to our table. Would not recommend - there are too many other great options on the wharf with comparable views!

    3 people from our party said their food was under seasoned. My fish and chips were crispy on the outside and then soft and uncooked inside. Another gave the waiter her plate after taking a couple bites. Her meal was not pleasing. The waiter did take that item off of our ticket. Sadly this was a birthday celebration and it made it a bit disappointing.

    It was my birthday, Lovely venue overlooking the sea. Not busy but not very intermate. We had a table at the window with a view over the sea. Then despite being empty, the waiter sat a large family with 3 or 4 noisy children on the table next to us, which disturbed our eating. Although the food was okay, it was nothing special and as with restaurants everywhere currently in the US very expensive for what we had. We were in and out in less than an hour! Not the best romantic birthday dinner!

    The food was delicious and very fresh. Our server Angel was very pleasant, attentive, and helpful. This is definitely a place my husband and I will be returning to if ever in the area again. Just an overall wonderful experience.

    We tried it for the first time and were very disappointed with the food. No bread and butter was served and the sand dabs tasted old and had a very odd texture. The swordfish was very dry.

    As requested on reservations, we were immediately seated at a perfect Hadbor view window location , couldn’t have been better. As we took in the evening our waiter allowed us to enjoy our comfortable enjoyment/wine on our evening together . When we exhausted the ambiance and ordered; we were not disappointed. The food was superb . This 100 mile getaway trip made the best evening snd couldn’t have been better.

    The food was very good, and was presented very well. The only real issue was that we requested a table with a view of the sunset, was told that, that section was closed. Also, the inside temperature of the restaurant was a little to warm.

    We were town for the grand pricx race at nearby Laguna Seca Raceway. We wanted reasonably affordable seafood near the water for our first night. The location is very good, the restaurant was clean and comfortable, and we were seated immediately at a table with an excellent view. Servers came quickly and we ordered an appetizer and drinks. When the appetizer came (garlic cheese bread, which was pretty good), we ordered our food. The food came pretty quickly. My wife ordered a wedge salad with grilled chicken. She said it was fine except the lettuce was swimming in salad dressing, which I could see it was. She said she should’ve ordered it on the side. Our 11-year-old son ordered breaded shrimp and fries, which turned out to be a huge pile of food. He didn’t care for the shrimp because the shrimp themselves were tiny (as in 3/4” long and less than 1/8” diameter but had a sheath of batter that made them look much larger— it was basically a meal of deep-fried batter. So we ordered him a side of grilled chicken. I had the swordfish, which was fine as were the vegetables that came with it. Unfortunately the fish had a thick layer of a very olive-y tasting tomato and olive sauce which smothered the taste of the fish. I scraped most of the sauce off because I really like swordfish. I had a draft beer (no price on n the menu but turned out to be $10). My only other comment is that the waitstaff seemed to become overloaded as the restaurant filled up. But they did have busters coming around to keep our water glasses full. Overall it’s okay.

    I got the a seafood mix and the calamari was over cooked to the point where it was like chewing on rubber. Barely ate my meal. My boyfriend got the seafood pasta and it was very bland and swimming in broth. It was more of a soup.

    The Rockfish was cooked wonderfully, and the shrimp was excellent. 2 pieces of swordfish at the table, both very overcooked. The garlic cheese bread we ordered was definitely old, it was not even served warm let alone recently prepped. Asparagus was excellent. First time eating fresh pacific oyesters, so i an not familiar with how they are served regionally. In a gritty, dirty shell and unrinsed? If so, then they were served perfectly. I honestly don't know if that is the standard. Lobster tail, at market price, was very rubbery. I did not return anything, did not have faith in the ability of the cook having tried such an array of food. 4 people, 20% tip, $200 meal. Honestly would have been happy with average because the waiter was excellent and the view was soectacular. Definitely regret choosing to eat there.

    All entrees as described with a pleasant friendly staff. Bathroom was gross. It is a high volume restaurant and area so people are gross. Restaurant needs to pay closer attention to cleanliness. Also, table behind us had loud coughing kids and adults. Maybe if people are obviously sick they shouldn't be sat so close to others.

    It's all about the view. Pelicans sweeping over the bay, sea lions and seals swimming past the windows and sea otters playing as you eat. Food is decent and plentiful, service fine, price OK. Get a table by the window though or don't bother.
