   I have been to Roanoke numerous times before and have always had a great experience, however this experience was not the same. The food and drinks were great as always, but our server Paola was not. One of our guests asked if she could substitute the potatoes her meal came with with something else, and Paola said that there are no substitutions. Two people in our party were splitting an entree salad and asked if the kitchen would be able to split it to two plates for them, and Paola said no. They then asked for an extra plate to be brought when the food came, and one wasn’t brought. Finally, when the bill came, we asked to split the check with a few different cards, and she said that it couldn’t be done. We asked if Paola could ask the supervisor for permission, and she just doubled down and said that it couldn’t be done. There was no effort to try to make the experience enjoyable, and Paola just told us no to every question we had. We enjoy coming to Roanoke before shows, however this experience has soured us from potentially coming back.

   Amazing experience before the show. Paola was wonderful! The food was fresh and flavorful. We would choose to eat here again.

   Roanoke has delcious salads and starters, and I'm sure the sandwiches and entrees are equally delicious. It is very noisy, though, so I would not go with someone who had difficulty hearing with lots of loud background noise.

   I have eaten at Roanoke at least 1/2 dozen times over the past few years. the food has always been delicious, and the service attentive but not overbearing. The ambiance varies depending on the day/time of the week. It’s a little noisier after work/pre-theater, and quieter on Sunday dinnertime. But the noise level has never gotten overwhelming when I’ve been there. I’ve taken 3 different groups of friends there, and all enjoyed it and said they would definitely dine there again.

   We entered the restaurant at 11:45; at 12noon, people kept pouring in. Noise level was extremely high. People were shouting at each other and my guest and I could not hear each other. We laughed because EVERYONE was loud and talking at the same time. We stayed only for 45 minutes and never enjoyed any conversation at all.

    Beautiful restaurant, but note that the Sunday Brunch/Lunch menu turns into only the Lunch menu (about 9 or 10 dishes) at 2 pm. So if you want a variety of options, you should go before 1:45 pm. Food (chicken & waffles, steak & eggs, poké bowl, french toast) was tasty and the pricing was reasonable.
