This is a very nice place! Cool ambiance and awesome service!
Beautiful setting, great live music. The hamburger was fairly average, shrimp tacos were excellent but not that filling. Not having the tip as part of the bill was refreshing
I loved the ambiance, but it did not seem that the food quality coordinated with the interior! Not that the food was bad, it was fine...but it did not match the higher end environment. We went for a dinner in Feb... I look forward to trying Roadhouse 29 again in the summer for lunch/cocktails.
Great food and cocktails. Will be coming back. The BBQ is awesome.
Throughly enjoyed our experience( 4 top of two couples) came on a whim; service was excellent. Food was good to very good. This is a barbecue restaurant that serves food quickly with good portion size and good flavors. Brisket was quite good, there was a nice smoke but not over the top. In fact all the meats had a pleasant smokey quality. Corn bread came in a small skillet and needed two things- bigger size and more of a skillet crust. Flavors were solid. An oddity is that condiments were served in plastic throw away holders. That needs to be changed. Otherwise we will go again to what is a decent barbecue restaurant that has very good service a nice room and decent pricing.
Roadhouse 29 gets it right. My fiancé and I loved everything about our experience. Highly recommended.
Beautiful restaurant, great food, wonderful music!
Great place with great food and service! Definitely recommend it!
Valentines dinner was great.
The food was outstanding. The chicken pot pie, the ribs, the mac’n’cheese, broccolini, the tuna and, a highlight for us was the kale salad. The drinks were very good. Can be a bit pricey for everyday dining. However, it is certainly a place we’ll come back to try other menu items. Very friendly staff as well.
We chose this restaurant at the last minutes for Valentine's Day dinner. We decided to have the special dinner but felt that the main course, a 16 oz. steak, was too much for either of us, and they were happy to accommodate us by splitting the steak, by the way, was delicious and cooked to perfection. The soft ice cream sundae came with a variety of toppings on the side and was a great finish for the meal. They have a great bar and a very nice wine list. Service was attentive, cheerful and certainly added to the enjoyment of the evening.
Nothing special- cold food with no taste. Rolls tasted like they came from commercial grocery store. Empty house on a Saturday should have told us something. Will not recommend or come back. Deviled eggs had no taste, bar cocktail very weak to the point we had to make sure what we ordered was correct. Prime rib cold with no taste.
its a relaxing and nice atmosphere - not above ordinary food - but good. Would eat here again
Great find for a reasonably priced meal in Napa. Beautiful space in restored stone building from the 1800s. Food came quickly, very well prepared, service was friendly and tip-free. Music on a Friday night was an extra pleasure! Highly recommended!
Server seemed very put out that she had to wait on us. Kitchen closes at 8:00 but was able to make an 8:00 reservation??? Will not be returning.
The meats at this place were unbelievable! So tender and flavorful. We had the ribs, brisket and prime rib. The coleslaw was a bit lacking, but everything else was so good we didn’t mind. The coffee was delicious! Will definitely be returning
Good food! The service was prompt and the atmosphere is warm. The tip is included in the price. I’m planning in going back this summer.
Food and service were both fantastic! Fun night. Nice wine list
Great service. Good food.
I had a terrific experience here! It's a casual large space, but very comfortable and has a friendly vibe. I had heard about the fried chicken with Korean buffalo sauce and it did not disappoint. A half chicken was more than enough for two people. The loaded fries have lots of smoky brisket and are very good for sharing as well. I need to go back and try the ribs...
The food and service were fair at best.
More guests needed to keep this exceptional restaurant going. The staff is always friendly without hovering. The food is most comforting.. not over salted as many are. The chicken pot was topped with a lovely flaky crust. The kale salad perfect .. not too much dressing and
made interesting with finely shredded red cabbage and sesame seeds. Finally, a good substitute for the ousted Silverado Brewery.
Great staff, great food, love the free corkage and wonderful atmosphere!
We arrived early for our reservation, but the place was empty. It was during Thanksgiving week so very understandable. We were greeted by the bartender and we wanted to enjoy happy hour so we grabbed a table in the bar area. We had a nice Valley Mule which is like a Moscow mule and ordered the loaded fries and the spicy won ton chips. The chips were very crunchy and tasty and satisfying. The loaded fries were delicious, but the portion size was lacking. Later on we ordered from the dinner menu and had the fried whole chicken marinated in Kim chee for a couple of days which was good, but was missing something. It wasn’t cheap so was expecting more pop to the dish. We also ordered the kale salad which was good, but again, maybe more contrast in flavors was needed. The platter of ribs and brisket was good but overpriced. The brisket was a little mushy and needed to have more of a bite. The ribs were baby back and not a lot of meat and again needed a little more bite. The Mac and cheese was good but nothing special.
I was expecting a little more something, especially with the prices so high. So I have to say I was a little disappointed.
Great family style BBQ place for family and adults visiting wine country. Comp Corkage is a plus! Quiet, friendly service and can handle large parties. A hidden GEM in wine country not to be missed.
A great find!!
Food could be better.
First time here. Would never think of going to a restaurant like this while in the valley but one of my friends had a craving for BBQ. The restaurant has a rustic charm. The food was unexpectedly fabulous, tbere's no corkage fre, and it's tip free. Of course we gave an additional tip because we brought 2 bottles of wine. The ribs were fall off the bone, melt in your mouth, not overly sauced, just delicious. The chicken pot pie was very good and would feed 2 easily. French dip sandwich and impossible burger also very good as was the corn bread, pickles and mac n cheese. The only thing I didn't care for was the Cole slaw. Would definite go back again.
It's a big dining room with ample space between tables. Wait staff attentive and well trained.
Such a wonderful restaurant but only one other table of 2 were in the entire restaurant on the Sunday evening I dined there at 7pm. The food was delicious. The prices are fair. The only problem we had was the service was too slow, especially since there were only 6 total guests dining in the entire place! Oh, there was also an empty can of coke on our table when we sat down. Not a big deal to us but it would have bothered many guests. I hope more people will try Roadhouse 29 because it truly is a great restaurant. If it was in downtown St. Helena, it would be packed all the time.
2 of us ordered baby back ribs and were served St. Louis style ribs when we told the waiter he didn’t comment back
We should of been told that when we ordered them my guests are from Kansas City and definitely know the difference
They were good , maybe chef and waiters don’t know the difference ?
The slaw is not for me .
The chicken was good not greasy good job
Excellent food, unique in that it is a non tipping restaurant. Had the shrimp tacos, very good. Would eat here again if in the area.
Stellar dining and food; definitely worth the extra few minutes drive to Northern Saint Helena.
Music was outstanding
The slow roasted prime rib dinner was amazing. Everything is good here. The band playing tonight was a real treat, loved their music
Pot pies and deviled eggs. Enough said.
Great staff and amazing bbq!
Average, at best for Napa. So many other great places when you visit Napa. However, I imagine this restaurant is good if going with children.
Great value and appetizer options for larger groups to share. Chicken pot pie & fried chicken were amazing, brisket was more fat than meat. Service is excellent. There is no corkage fee which is really rare especially in Napa Valley. Biggest disappointment was dessert. One would think a chocolate cookie in a skillet would come warm and baked in the pan. What you get is a cold cookie "presented" in a small cast iron skillet. Same with the brownie. Nevertheless, the restaurant itself is clean & visually stunning, and the food is better than most & also affordable.
Do not recommend for nice dinner. Over priced for options. Food was not good with 4 different entrees. I didn’t eat 2 bites of mine and no one asked why. Dessert came with dinners still on the table. Terrible service. It was embarrassing as we took guest.
Had the meat platter and tri-tip platter for 6 people and one person had the chicken pot pie. We all left feeling well fed with great BBQ and a little to take. Nice ambiance, great service and remarkably affordable for Napa Valley.
