"When I decided to open Ristorante Illando, I had a vision in my head...my cozy house back in Firenze, Italy; my family dining table filled with the food I grew up with. Now I can surround you with the warmth of my Italian home and an authentic Italian meal here at Illando. Benvenuti e buon appetito a tutti!!"

Outstanding food and service that I believe is unparalleled. Wish we could have sat upstairs. Sitting in the street detracted from a perfect outing.
The food is just delicious. It was a little cold because they ran out of kerosene. The food made up for it.
Made reservations using open table had to wait 19 minutes for a table and then we had to wait 27 minutes until the server helped us. The assistant was great. We ate two platefuls of bread before we ordered.
We had the best dinner experience. Food was great and our server, Natasha, was super nice and accommodating. I will definitely go back.
Really love this place! My 5th time there. Took my wife for her birthday. Great table, great food, great time!
My favorite place in little Italy! The food is amazing. It’s quiet and the ambience is lovely.
Omg the pasta was amazing !!! One of the best Pastas I’ve had in a while 😋😋😋
32nd wedding anniversary. Our server was so great and so were the rest of the staff. Food was awesome good! Highly recommend.
Por la pandemia la mesa estaba a nivel calle y de ahí el problema de ruido y ambiente. Sorry
Food is just ok. I’d say the deal here is more about quantity versus quality. It’s essentially cheap and cheerful. There are so many more great food experiences here, this just felt like one of those tourist traps.
Octopus appetizer, and lamp chop and mahi mahi meals were all over cooked. Not sure if chef was just having a bad night. So many great options in Little Italy, I sadly don't think I'll be back here. Server was very pleasant and decent wine list.
Took a bit to finally get sat down. Food is as really good and support staff were on top of it. Actual server took a while to finally come around and take our order and was pretty much absent the rest of the meal.
Illandos pizzeria is printed across the top of the menu. The image on the open table restaurant page is of a nice hand made, wood burning oven pizza. When you arrive, there is a pizza counter and oven in the front. But NOTE there is no Pizza available for sale. Why? Because the manager decided it was too much trouble during COVID. The menu is a weak offering of a few pasta dishes and a handful of entrees. Not Little Italy standard, not recommended.
Overall a great restaurant that I would strongly consider going back to. Felt a little rushed during the end, but it is understandable since there was probably a full waiting list and only outdoor dining.
Great authentic Italian food.
Would definitely recommend. The outdoor dining is in a back deck so off the street scene . Very good service.
Our reservation was at 1:45 and when we got there on time the hostess told us they’re waiting for one table to pay and leave. We ended up waiting about 30-45min past our reservation time then when we were seated we saw that there were 2 empty tables so we were very confused why we were waiting. The food was average- pizza was really delicious but the creamy chicken with broccoli pasta and the lasagna were just ok, they needed more flavor. Overall I would come back just for the pizza.
We love it here! It was quiet and we felt very safe with the COVID precautions they were taking. Our server and hostess were the best; so nice and attentive! Definitely coming back if we’re ever in San Diego.
First time in San Diego and stayed close to little Italy. Wanted a good Italian meal and boy, we were blown away! Food was fabulous and the wait staff were polite and helpful. We sat outside and enjoyed the meal and also people watching. Definitely recommend if you are in SD.
Eddie is awesome! Made us feel right at home.
Enjoyed the al fresco street dining. Great service, excellent food. Best eggplant parmigiana I’ve had in the states!
We loved our dinner. The food was fabulous. We had the caprese salad, and 1 pappardelle bolognese, plus of course the wonderful bread prior to dinner.
Service was quick and the food was hot. We sat on the street, outside, and it was great. Good people watching, and the street was closed to traffic, so not a lot of noise.
Can't wait to go back.
It was just okay. No one really tended to our table besides the bare minimum (didn’t ask if I wanted a second drink or if I wanted dessert). Food was edible and tasted fine- but nothing memorable.
Unfortunately, the food was not that good. What each of us ordered was very bland tasting and the pork in the saltimbocca was very dry and flat like a piece of cardboard. Not much flavor in my girlfriend’s pasta either. The calamari was tasty however. My recommendation would be to go here for a glass of wine and an appetizer before going else to eat.
Visiting Illando to celebrate our daughter’s 25th birthday. With a reservation, we were seated immediately at out our reserved time. Service was a little slow to start, but the server was wrapping up with a big party. As soon as arhat party left, service was attentive and very pleasant. Food was amazing with perfect portion sizes and wine selection was ideal! We will definitely visit again.
Very nice service and food. Raviolis were great!
Not as expected. It says on open table it had good reviews and thats the reason i booked it. The food was terrible. Waiter wasnt nice. The table was all the way back in the corner.
We had to move our reservation around a bit due to traffic and they were very accommodating! The food was excellent and even though our waiter wasn’t very attentive the other waiter was happy to get whatever we need.
My server was an amazing & food was on point! Prices were reasonable . Perfect location for my birthday ! 💕
I made reservations, confirmed twice by text. When arrived, the hostess looked a bit distressed. She took me to seating in the back and had me sitting on a rail not even the size of a bar rail. She was dismissive and said she could move me to a table in a bit but I could only be there for 40 min because someone had a reservation. I responded that I had a reservation, but she seemed nonplussed. I sat, the manager saw that I was unhappy, brought over a glass of wine apologized explained that with covid they were having issues with planning the reservations. He was gracious. The food was excellent. I had mushroom risotto which was cooked perfectly. I received a complimentary desert. I will certainly return.
Absolutely the best as always. Nothing bad the best Italian in all of San Diego. Eddie!
We dined there during Covid 19. This means outside on the sidewalk where their fake trees fell over twice. I had lunch there and the food was wonderful. Definitely will return!
Awesome food and service! Arrived a bit early and they accommodated without issue. Will definitely be going back on our next trip.
Hidden gem in Little Italy! Eddie and his staff are top notch
Service was excellent even during these Covid times. Food taste and quality were outstanding! Great atmosphere and spaced out tables.
Worst service I’ve ever experienced. Pretty sure our server was on drugs as food/drinks were missing for over an hour +. They even had to give us a new server at the end of the night as our original server disappeared.
Excellent service and food even though we sat outside C-19 style!
Pastas were well prepared and flavorful. The Chicken was a little tough. Service was efficient and friendly.
