I'm a native New Orleanian of Italian descent, I love food! I learned my culinary skills from my mother and grandmothers and have had success over the years serving some of their delightfullly classic dishes. I am very attached to my Italian roots and have been in the industry a long time. My wife Mary and I work diligently at the restaurant to make it a wondeful place to dine for all of our guest.
with Whiskey Sauce
Caesar Salad Pollo
Romaine lettuce tossed with Caesar dressing and topped with breaded chicken breast
Pesce Fresco alla Griglia
Chef's hand selected fresh fish of the day. Served with vegetables
Awesome food and ambiance!
Always a good choice!
The veal sorrentina is a must.
Food was great and so was the service! Can’t wait to go back!
Drinks were on point and food was delicious! Highly recommend this place
Ristorante Felippo never disappoints. The food once again was amazing. The wait staff are friendly and efficient. I love the ambiance and atmosphere.
I could eat in this restaurant once a week. Easy, comfortable and very good.
If you are looking for a "Spaghetti & Meatballs" restaurant, this is the one. Italian version of a Greek diner.
I saw the pasta dish served at the table next to me, with the sauce on top kind of cooking.
Sorry nothing Italian here, not for me!
Welcoming. Great service. Food was incredible. Good value. Loved it.
Delicious food, great service, lively atmosphere.
It is a very small venue. We had a reservation for 7:00pm and waited an extra 30 minutes before getting seated. There really is no where to stand and wait. We were seated in a smaller room that looked like it was converted from a large closet with 3 tables in it. It was a bit tight and they initially closed the door making it way too hot and we felt a bit claustrophobic. We finally got them to get the air right in there and keep the door open. The wait staff was very good and extremely attentive. Food came out timely and it was very good. There were; however, several items that they had run out of by the time we sat down. Seems very popular place. Could benefit from expanding the eating areas so you don't feel so crowded in there.
The service and the people working there, in general, are fun and engaging. It’s like having a fun family dinner. 😊. We each had the parmigiana, he with veal and me with chicken. Both were juicy and delicious. The spinach and artichoke soup was a cream based soup but it was very light and soothing after a long day. The Caesar salad had, in our opinion, the perfect amount of dressing (We don’t like our salads drowning in dressing). There is a fun downstairs seating area. We chose the upstairs area, which was a quieter and yet still engaging experience experience. In some restaurants, you feel forgotten when you go upstairs…not at all the case here. We will be returning soon!
the food here is incredible...do yourself a favor and go check it out!
Mary the owner was very friendly and personable. She was very welcoming. Our server had extremely good manners, knew the menu front and back, and was very quick. The food was incredible. The only knock is the tables are very close.
Squid was a bit over fried.
Everything else was 1st class.
Waitress was super!!
We’ll be back and soon.
Service was excellent. We were in a private room which was perfect because we were celebrating wedding anniversary and would have been very loud for the rest of the restaurant. Loved our waitress.
Always incredible. We absolutely love this neighborhood restaurant
Delicious! Great date night spot. Food was phenomenal. Get the trout!
The food was delicious, and you couldn’t ask for better service.
Portions are way too big. Not able to enjoy somewhat expensive dinner after eating half of a single appetizer. Other than that, food is decent and staff is friendly and attentive.
This was our first time dining at Filippo and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was excellent and the staff was very friendly, efficient and accommodating. We'll definitely go back - this is now on our list of go to restaurants!
Great food and service!
Had 6:45 reservations however it took over 2 hours to receive our entrees. Waiter had a horrible attitude. I was frustrated and ready to leave. Spoke to the owner and she begged us to stay so she can make it right. Gave us another waiter who was very pleasant. Food finally came out and I was not impressed with it. Really wanted to like this place..had a very old school Italian vibe. However, poor customer service and food taste..not worth it.
Everything was very good! We were a little early(about 20 min.) for our reservation. But they us down right away. The service was incredible and the food was amazing. We will def. be going back soon.
Eggplant Parm and Italian Salad wonderful! Great atmosphere.
Service was wonderful at beginning of our visit but felt ignored after food was delivered. Wait to get the check was too long. However , we understand the struggle to get service individuals to work. We will return. O
Old New Orleans Italian restaurant ambience in a cozy, yet centrally-located location. We love this place and the people.
Trout amandine and veal picatta were delicious. Good menu with varied choices. Highly recommend.
We have been several times and it has been good but this time we waited over an hour for our food
This is my favorite Italian restaurant by far. Great food and hands on owners make this a go to place! Food is always on point and the chef/owner and wife always make you feel so welcome, like you’re part of their family. We always leave there totally satisfied!
A consistently great restaurant. The chef only serves fresh, high quality food, prepared perfectly. The waiters are professional and experienced, which make every meal flow well. The building is small, providing an intimate dining experience. Reservations are usually necessary because of the limited size and popularity.
Excellent service! Always a a fun night!
Delicious as always. Had the tomahawk veal cutlet special and it was outstanding. Highly recommend!
Last minute decision to make a reservation. Turned out to be an awesome experience with great food and with exceptional service.
First timer here had the app of Panfried eggplant rounds w/lump crabmeat in btwn the rounds - EXCELLENT...!!! One of the evening specials was Ill Pesce Fresco (redfish pan fried & topped w/almond slices) w/sautéed squash - which was also great... We both ordered & were very happy w/the selection.
Desert was a generous square of bread pudding & warmed rum sauce... also marvelous.
Establishment I’ll be most definitely patronizing in the future & Family owned/operated (who were @ the restaurant & involved) which is always better than a chain restaurant...
Server (David I believe) pressured me into leaving a bigger tip even though he came to our table 3 times in 2 hours.
