I'm a native New Orleanian of Italian descent, I love food! I learned my culinary skills from my mother and grandmothers and have had success over the years serving some of their delightfullly classic dishes. I am very attached to my Italian roots and have been in the industry a long time. My wife Mary and I work diligently at the restaurant to make it a wondeful place to dine for all of our guest.
with Whiskey Sauce
fresh baby spinach tossed with dried cranberries and pine nuts, topped with grilled shrimp in a Balsamic vinaigrette dressing
Great food, consistent every time. Would recommend to anyone.
This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants. I love it and everyone I have brought there has loved the food.
Italian food with heart.
Been there several times, never disappoints. Food and service are great! We had Lori, she did a great job. Even though she had a 15 top in the other room, she made sure we were taken care of.
Glad to see you are open again, Phil. The food was great, as usual. The calamari was spot on, and the Veal Marsala was perfect. I was happy to see the place packed, and everyone appeared to be having a great time. Hang in there, through these tough times.
One of the best local hangouts you are ever going to find! It's like having dinner with your Italian cousin and his family, everyone knows each other (or seems to) while owners Phillip and Mary help in bringing out big plates of really terrific Italian comfort food. It was a great evening, food for the body and food for the soul.
Always consistently good. Service good. Left full and satisfied
The Food and Service and Atmosphere was Awesome.
We will be back
Always amazing ! Mary + Philip are the owners and seem to always be there which makes a difference. Best Italian food around ..love the close tables and the servers are always friendly and the drinks are generous!
The service was awful and the food we were served was raw and was told that it was because of COVID. That is just very poor excuses. It use to be great food and service. We will not go back
Second time visiting, did not disappoint! Love the ambiance, reminds me of the little Italian places in NYC. The Trout Almondine is to die for…real trout, which isn’t always the case other restaurants!
My husband and I decided to try this restaurant after seeing it for years near Causeway Blvd. at the end of West Napoleon. We made reservations for Thursday at 6pm. The parking lot is small, but there is parking across the street. We were greeted when we entered and we were wearing masks due to COVID rules. We were seated at a table for 4; the restaurant is not large but was not full. We ordered an appetizer, split a salad, each had an entree and split a dessert. All of the food was delicious; service was great. We will definitely return.
It was a great evening and the food and atmosphere were great!
We were celebrating my husband’s 60th birthday with family. EXCELLENT service, food, ambience and company!
Best authentic Italian meal ever!! Just like my mommy use to make!!
This is my favorite restaurant in the New Orleans area and believe me there are many to choose from. This is our go to place. Incredible italian dishes and always a fresh fish.
Despite being extremely busy, our server and busboy delivered good service. Restaurant is small but was extremely loud due to some customers. Only complaint was I couldn’t substitute one of the vegetable side for another one.
Excellent wait staff, appetizers and soups were superb, we had a party of 5 and everyone truly enjoyed it.
We celebrated our son’s 21st birthday at Restaurant Filippo and it was amazing!!! It is the best Italian food in the city!!
Awesome food and ambiance!
Always a good choice!
The veal sorrentina is a must.
Food was great and so was the service! Can’t wait to go back!
Drinks were on point and food was delicious! Highly recommend this place
Ristorante Felippo never disappoints. The food once again was amazing. The wait staff are friendly and efficient. I love the ambiance and atmosphere.
I could eat in this restaurant once a week. Easy, comfortable and very good.
If you are looking for a "Spaghetti & Meatballs" restaurant, this is the one. Italian version of a Greek diner.
I saw the pasta dish served at the table next to me, with the sauce on top kind of cooking.
Sorry nothing Italian here, not for me!
Welcoming. Great service. Food was incredible. Good value. Loved it.
Delicious food, great service, lively atmosphere.
It is a very small venue. We had a reservation for 7:00pm and waited an extra 30 minutes before getting seated. There really is no where to stand and wait. We were seated in a smaller room that looked like it was converted from a large closet with 3 tables in it. It was a bit tight and they initially closed the door making it way too hot and we felt a bit claustrophobic. We finally got them to get the air right in there and keep the door open. The wait staff was very good and extremely attentive. Food came out timely and it was very good. There were; however, several items that they had run out of by the time we sat down. Seems very popular place. Could benefit from expanding the eating areas so you don't feel so crowded in there.
The service and the people working there, in general, are fun and engaging. It’s like having a fun family dinner. 😊. We each had the parmigiana, he with veal and me with chicken. Both were juicy and delicious. The spinach and artichoke soup was a cream based soup but it was very light and soothing after a long day. The Caesar salad had, in our opinion, the perfect amount of dressing (We don’t like our salads drowning in dressing). There is a fun downstairs seating area. We chose the upstairs area, which was a quieter and yet still engaging experience experience. In some restaurants, you feel forgotten when you go upstairs…not at all the case here. We will be returning soon!
the food here is incredible...do yourself a favor and go check it out!
Mary the owner was very friendly and personable. She was very welcoming. Our server had extremely good manners, knew the menu front and back, and was very quick. The food was incredible. The only knock is the tables are very close.
Squid was a bit over fried.
Everything else was 1st class.
Waitress was super!!
We’ll be back and soon.
Service was excellent. We were in a private room which was perfect because we were celebrating wedding anniversary and would have been very loud for the rest of the restaurant. Loved our waitress.
Always incredible. We absolutely love this neighborhood restaurant
Delicious! Great date night spot. Food was phenomenal. Get the trout!
