   Good location for theatre district and nice variations on menu. Only strange things were the small plates everything seemed to be served on!

   The Riding House Fitzrovia is always delightful and welcoming with our favourite table. We had the granola with Greek yoghurt, açai with Greek yoghurt and mushrooms on toast, all delicious. But, the Bloody Mary was bloody amazing, maybe the best ever!

   Mine gripe the main course came out literally as they took the starter plates away. It all felt extremely rushed. Also I don’t like the fact they charged 13.5% service for mediocre service.

We aim to pace our courses appropriately to ensure an enjoyable experience for all our guests, and I am sorry that on this occasion we did not achieve that for you. I will be sure to pass your comments on to the team so we can review our service standards and ensure we are allowing guests ample time between courses. Regarding the service charge, we apply a discretionary 13.5% service charge, which is fully distributed to our team. However, it is always optional, and we are happy to remove it should a guest feel it is not warranted. I am sorry if this was not made clear to you at the time. Best, Sarah

   13.5% for service charge! Slightly tainted the evening seeing this automatically added to the bill. Coats appears to be creeping up for a distinctly average service.

   We had a great time and got additional space for our pushchair. The location was great. We really appreciate Rizwan’s service, he was very kind, considerate and friendly. He gave us some very good suggestions (the berry deep oven pancake was Devine) which we enjoyed and was attentive, he returned a few times to make sure all was well and enjoyed our conversations.

   My minute steak was fatty and hard to cut. I was disappointed with my meal. I felt the steak was poor.

    The sourdough toast was burnt through-listening black and smelt burnt- not sure how that left the kitchen that way!. The staff were very disappointing, poor attention to detail. We requested one of the starters to be brought with mains and they brought it with starters.

With regard to the sourdough toast, it may be helpful to mention that it is flame-grilled by design, which is noted on our menu. This method can result in a charred appearance and a smoky flavour, which some guests particularly enjoy. However, we completely understand that preferences vary, and we are always happy to accommodate requests for a lighter toast if advised. I am also sorry to hear there was confusion regarding the timing of your starter. We aim to follow all guest requests carefully, and it is disappointing to learn that we fell short.
