Rick Erwin's West End Grille
She Crab Soup
romaine hearts, classic dressing, buttered croutons, parmigiano-reggiano
Service was very good. Bar drinks were very good and priced right. I had read reviews that some of the entrees were too seasoned/salty. I thought that might have been corrected by now. However, my veal dish was way too salty. I should have sent it back and opted for a salad. But I didn't, timing would not have been good. Even without finishing the dish, I went through three bottles of water later that evening.
Sat in the back, alot of noise/loud talking from the kitchen. I have eaten here several times and always spot on! This visit had some issues but they were very helpful in resolving them quickly.
My girlfriend and I came to Rick Erwins for her 22nd birthday, and our server, Christina all but ruined it. To start from the beginning Christina didn’t offer any appetizers or recommendations nor did we even have a drink menu. When we ordered our appetizers, she dropped it off and never came back to ask how it was. It took her 25-30 minutes from the time we sat down at our table for her to get our order. Mind you, she never mentioned any of the specials, yet we heard her mentioning them to the table next to us. After receiving our bread, we had to ask multiple people for butter, because Christina was nowhere to be found. 30 minutes later, our food finally came out and Christina walked past our table 4 times without even asking if our food was any good. Our creamed spinach was nasty, and we asked for macaroni and cheese instead, which then took another 10 minutes to come out. As we were wrapping up our dinner, Christina didn’t even acknowledge my girlfriend’s birthday, offer a birthday desert, or offer to box up our meals. In all 3/10 experience, would not recommend.
This was our first visit to Greenville. The service and ambience were among the best we have ever experienced. I had the She-Crab soup, salmon piccata and sponge cake. All the food was incredible with large portions. My wife’s chicken parmigiana was enough for two people. The sponge cake was the highlight of the evening. The crust was phenomenal and the homemade ice cream and large berries were a hit. This was a memorable evening
The veal picatta and pasta was outstanding. The seared yellowfin tuna and rosota was the best I have ever had.
The best steaks!! Such great service and very clean!
Outstanding food and service. First class all around. Perfect place for a celebration
I wish I found the West End Grille sooner!
We ate here for our anniversary and were very pleased with our dinner experience. The staff was professional and very knowledgeable. The food was delicious! Atmosphere was amazing! We will definitely be back! Try the BBQ shrimp!
Appetizers very good. Dinner not so much. Salt left out of bread, undercooked steak, potatoes au gratin still hard and lobster was mush. With all of the recooking, meal was pieced together. Very overpriced for mediocre food!
Not the anniversary dinner we had hoped for...got there early and told we could go to the bar and wait but would have to pay our tab before we were seated for dinner...not a very good start. We were seated, handed the menu, ordered our beverages and then told we were T the wrong table and had to be moved. 5 steps away from the table we were told no, we could go back to that table. No mention of our anniversary which we had indicated on the reservation but other couples had much to do over them, as was the case last year for our anniversary. The people at the welcome area need more training in customer service. We will go somewhere else for our anniversary from now on. Very disappointed. Food was good. Cannoli was on the dessert menu but was not available. Another disappointment.
Excellent food and cocktails with attentive and friendly staff.
The service and food were both great. Good spot for conversation as it wasn’t too loud inside. Recommend.
Always a great experience dining here!
you will not be disappointed.
Was disappointed in our waitress, seemed preoccupied. Not very attentive. Helpers were excellent. Celebrating a birthday, gave a card but no other recognition. These friends were from out of state, kinda embarrassing. But food was outstanding!
Expensive, however, worth EVERY penny. My wife and I spent our anniversary dinner at the West End Grill and it was a perfect, once in a lifetime experience. Everything was to perfection and the service far exceeded our expectations. Looking forward to spending our anniversary dinner with them for years to come!
Excellent meal and service! We celebrated our anniversary and they went above and beyond to make it special.
the best crab cakes.......Hallelujah ......the service was great...........Thank u Liz
Everything about our visit was good however we were seated for 1:15 before our entrees arrived which even for a high-end and paced dining experience struck us as somewhat too long. Great craft cocktails at the bar. Exceptional food. Our server did her best to fill the void during the long wait. A little over-priced for routine dinner but seemed suitable for our special occasion. Everyone was very courteous.
Furman graduation - great meal and great service! Highly recommend. Valet service was missing for a 5:00 seating so we had to circle the block many times and then finally found our own space. Other than that stressful beginning, everything was delightful!
We haven't been to Rick Erwin's in a while - probably 18 months, but the last couple of times we were not impressed; and we are long time customers. Quality of food was down a little and so was the service. I'm happy to report that this visit was much improved, more like the good old days in 2012 to 2018. Food was outstanding, and the menu was a little more inventive. Good service too. We'll be back.
Arrived at 6:45 for our reservation, did not get our dinner until after 8:30. It was an hour between soup, salad and entree. So hungry by the time dinner arrived could not enjoy it. Waitress was wonderful, very apologetic.
Great time, attentive service, good food.. one dish was subpar and they comped it. Rest was delicious. Watch out for that butter cake, dangerously good.
Our server Christina was very helpful and attentive all night. Please send her our thanks.
We had a wonderful meal, the food was so tasty and a great atmosphere.
Mother’s Day Brunch. Excellent menu choices and the food was excellent!
First of all, the service provided by Sierra (sp?) was OUTSTANDING! She was so attentive, thoughtful, helpful, and gracious. She made any negative part of the dining experience so much better for us. The menu items are priced pretty fairly, and the three course meal is an outstanding value. Regarding the food, our previous experience at Rick Erwin’s West End was definitely better than this most recent one when it comes to the food itself. It took an extremely long time for the food to come out. Even though it was Mother’s Day, the restaurant was not exceptionally crowded when we arrived at 2:00 PM. There were quite a few tables open. We did not leave until 4:30 PM because of the time it took to bring everything out. Thankfully they were mindful of replacing our drinks and bread in the meantime. I ordered the filet mignon medium well. It came out so well that it was burnt the first time, so I sent it back. Unfortunately it was cooked no less the second time around. There was not the slightest shade of pink, and its top was completely charred. Thankfully Sierra was gracious enough to have it removed from the bill. The she crab soup is delicious. They were out of the crème brûlée, which is what we wanted, but the other desserts were good, especially the key lime pie and bananas foster bread pudding. Oh, and as for the bourbon mule, it was very weak and tasted primarily like ginger beer and lime. If you go, request Sierra. She is the best!
A great family dinner!
Great food, wonderfully attentive wait and bus staff. A lovely dining experience.
The service was really good - it was very busy so took a bit longer but glad they are so busy!!!
Absolutely one of our favorite restaurants, Great Food and Great Service
Great overall experience....the restaurant checked all the boxes
First time to Rick Erwin's and wasn't sure what to expect except NYC prices. Was thoroughly impressed with the quality of service along with excellent cut of steak. The sides of twice baked potato and Mac n cheese were delicious.
Service and food were excellent. A great place to celebrate our Clemson graduates.
Amazing food, highly recommend the she crab soup! Came here to celebrate my graduation and everything went off without a hitch even when there computers went down they easily adapted. Great place!
The food was amazing. Our waiter was very helpful and courteous. Would recommend as a place to eat in Greenville, SC.
The food was good and presented well. My wife and I arrived for our 6 PM seating and were set right next to another couple. There was sufficient room to seperate us. It was very uncomfortable sitting so close to the other couple. We had to wait a long time for our food. The waitress apologized twice while we were waiting on the food. Maybe they were shorthanded in the kitchen like many places right now.
